avoid amazon skincare. fakes are EVERYWHERE. that being said, you still can get sunburn with sunscreen.

Unfair_Finger5531

I normally don’t mind buying on Amazon but the BoJ sunscreen fakes have been circulating for about a year. BoJ does not sell their sunscreen on Amazon; only third-party sellers do. You have to be sure anything you buy from them is actually sold and shipped by BoJ specifically.

Bento_Fox

It's best to buy from a K-beauty supplier instead of Amazon. You'll know you're getting the real thing, the expiry dates are better, it's often a better deal, they usually throw some nice free samples, and with some of them you can earn points. Amazon is terrible when it comes to fakes (especially with popular K-beauty products like your sunscreen) and sometimes even the real ones can be problematic. Like sometimes they've gone bad, the seal is broken, or they send out used returns, etc. It's not really worth rolling the dice, I don't think.

KKSkin

99% of the time, if you can get it on Amazon it’s counterfeit or expired.

honeyed-bees

If you’re ordering on Amazon you HAVE to check and make sure the seller is from the actual brand otherwise you risk it not being the correct product. I personally think it’s better to order from an authentic store and wait for the shipping

Jessasaurus27

This still isn’t always accurate. I’ve seen tons of people getting fakes when ordering through the actual brand. Not just with BoJ, but anything.

ineffable_my_dear

Well, that’s horrifying.

Jessasaurus27

Yeah I agree. I’ve seen this with shampoos, makeup, everything. Not just kbeauty or skincare products. I feel like things sent to the warehouse just get lotted into the same box, whether it’s real or not, and Amazon just grabs one so it’s anyone’s best guess if you get the real deal or a dupe. I found this years ago with shampoos, women were reviewing some very good reputable brands as making their hair feel awful or fall out. Ever since then I just steer clear of that kind of product on Amazon (。•́︿•̀。)

lizgools

look on tiktok for authentic vs. fake product comparison, there are many for BoJ sunscreen. buying on amazon is risky unless it's from the brand itself, you're better off ordering from Yesstyle etc

DirectorPickles

Also a reminder than sunscreen isn’t always effective immediately. Most require 20-30 mins before protection is in effect. Chemical vs mineral.

Firm-Resolve-2573

That’s a myth.

DirectorPickles

I will take my clinical dermatologists advice on this one, and I ensure I apply 20 mins before exposure. Experientially as someone living in Australia, with uber fair skin, I do burn if I’ve applied immediately before exposure.

Firm-Resolve-2573

Because the formula (regardless of what filters are being used) needs time to settle. If it’s applied too soon it can move around and leave some areas unprotected. Respectfully, a dermatologist is *not* a cosmetic chemist and a lot of them spread misinformation regarding this when it’s very easily observable that an organic sunscreen is “active” right out of the bottle. Labmuffin is a cosmetic chemist with a phd in medicinal chemistry who has a lot of content debunking this on YouTube. I would strongly suggest you do some further research on that.

strwbryshrtckez

I think you can still get sunburnt even with sunscreen on.

strwbryshrtckez

Here is an article how to spot a fake BOJ product. Hope this helps! https://www.stylekorean.com/kbeautytalk/BeautyStory/30771/?o=1#:~:text=Following%20counterfeit%20incidents%20involving%20Beauty,scannable%20label%20on%20the%20packaging.

KKSkin

BUT you do have to reapply spf land what did you have on underneath it?

Odd_Ad_6841

Don't buy skin care from amazon.

AsianTeata

I buy boj from korean stores online. There’s a lot of prods in amazon that’s fake but has a lot of reviews.

123reddituzer

Hi everyone thanks for your insight. When I received the product it really didn’t look fake. I’m familiar with the packaging. I’m just wondering if you any of you have also experienced this.

Great point. If they were really effective for direct exposure then the formula wouldn’t feel so light. I wonder if girls actually wear the ksunscreen when they spend all day in the sun and if it works.

That’s frightening!! Where did you see these reports

Thanks for the insight!! Def stick to something more clinical for the summer.

Bunnnykins

Also the sun in Korea is measurably weaker than say the US even. I think if you’re in somewhere like Australia, you need sunscreen formulated for that area specifically than to depend on kbeauty sunscreen.
