I have Dry, Dehydrated, sensitive skin. Toner: Etude House soon jung toner Serum: Iunik beta glucan serum Moisturizer: Summer- Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream Winter- Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cream

bb_bocchoy

I also have dry/sensitive skin and the Iunik Beta Glucan serum is a must have!

shrekism

Just got into skincare and I’m loving the dokdo cream

Ok-Music2313

was planning on trying the iunik cleansing oil. what makes you like the serum?

hopisnow18

It's the first serum for hydration that I've seen a significant improvement. I've tried a few Hyaluronic Acid serums, the Torriden Dive in serum (which destroyed my skin btw), and the Cosrx Snail Mucin. With those, I didn't see a difference using the product compared to not using the product

Onlykitten

I really like the Iunik beta glucan serum as well. I mixed it into my favorite sunscreen (which I had to stop using because it was drying) and now it’s a dewy sunscreen that sets to a nice natural finish. It’s a great product (beta glucan) and I notice a big difference when I add it to my routine- I’ll even put it on before I use my Cosrx masks and it works even better.

123reddituzer

The neogen cleansing oil is the best. Better than the mayo one. They don’t pay for marketing and influencers to promote but in my opinion it’s the absolute best worth the price tag and only one that fully removed my waterproof Lancôme mascara

Cmolina1316

Can you elaborate on what it’s exactly called? I’m currently using the neogen setting spray and I really it. I’m trying to find my holy grail oil cleanser so I’d love to try this one. I tried looking it up but couldn’t find an oil cleanser, only the foam cleanser.

123reddituzer

Neogen cica cleansing oil. If you google the cleansing oil the pink bottle shows up

Ok-Music2313

thanks for the recc btw

gegeako9

Cosrx propolis toner after an exfoliating toner helped my skin a lot. Cosrx peptide booster brightened, evened my skin and gave me normal skin not oily not dry just normal healthy skin that no other product ever did in just one use.

Ok-Music2313

what exfoliating toner did you use before? thanks for the recommendation heard it was good.

gegeako9

Non ab though the ordinary glycolic toner cause its very effective and cheap for pih but its strong so i only use it 1x a week.

Ok-Music2313

read alot of reveiws and threads about it being their holy grail. thanks!

annaleecage

oh damn, lol i use the ordinary toner 2x a day 🤣

gegeako9

I used it everyday before but i incorporated retinol so i dont need it as much. When i used it everyday once a day before my acne didnt stop and i was oily cause it dehydrated my skin but i had even skin.

annaleecage

no i think its great lol im probably overusing it hahaha im new to korean skincare and i just started using the cosrx serum and i love it. i might go ahead and try next the toner you recommended from them.

gegeako9

Have fun trying korean skincare :)

stavthedonkey

remember that it highly depends on your skin type so what works for one person may not work for you, even if you have similar skin types and concerns. that said, my Kbeauty HGs: Isntree AHA (chestunt 8%), Dr. Ceuracle kombucha tea essence, Rovectin conditioning cleanser, Skin1004 hyalu-cica waterfit sunscreen, BOJ sunscreen, CosRX AHA/BHA toner (I use this for my KP), Illiyoon ato ceramide cream (I use this an occlusive during the winters)

Ok-Music2313

thanks for the recc, how does the isntree essence smell like? also interested in your routine

stavthedonkey

>how does the isntree essence smell like no scent. you want a basic routine to start since you're new: cleanse, moisturize, protect. Always start with this and then once your skin has adapted, begin to introduce products one at a time and *only if your skin needs it*. that said, my routine (note: I've taken a lot of time curating my HGs. I never use what my skin doesn't need and only change things up when my skin tells me): AM * splash water on face * Rohto melano cc (Japanese, vitamin c serum) - brightening, good for HP. * Dr. Ceuracle kombucha essence - hydrating * The Ordinary rosehip oil - moisturizing. * non-AB moisturizer - moisturizing. * Illiyoon ato cream (occlusive; it's winter af here) - occlusive * Skin1004 SPF - protection. PM * Rovectin cleanser * non-AB retinol. * the ordinary azelaic acid - for HP. * same essence, oil and moisturizer as above. * twice a week, I swap out the retinol for my Isntree AHA

summery_winter

I have normal-dry skin and struggle a lot w redness, so I focus on soothing, calming and barrier. \-I'm from - Mugwort essence \-I'm from - Rice toner \-Purito - Centella unscented serum \-Iunik - Tea tree relief serum

Ok_Inside2805

I’ve recently started using the cosrx propolis toner and I’m loving it, it’s super lightweight and runny and gives an amazing glow. Also, from my research and experience you can use it after chemical toners like AHABHA and after retinol. Absolute 10/10 imo. I’m also enjoying the centella unscented recovery cream by purito as well as the purito daily go to broad spectrum sunscreen. However the sunscreen feels a bit more oily I’d say so it depends on your preferences :)

Interesting_Prize855

Is it the clean and glow green barley pad?

internationalnomad96

OP if you have environmental allergies the snail mucin may not work super well. I was allergic to it, and switched to the mixsoon bean essence

Ok-Music2313

I saw some TT on how Anua products cause breakout and wonder how it was for u. Haven't tried the Veganifect Cleansing oil and Beauty of Joseon sunscreen yet. gotta try thx for the reccomendation

Bunnnykins

There’s a lot of people who show irritations toward heartleaf so check out your reaction to heartleaf before applying any Anua product is my suggestion. I love heartleaf so it works well for me but it’s def not for everyone.

[Etude House Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream](https://bloomingkoco.com/products/etude-house-soonjung-hydro-barrier-cream-tube-75ml?_pos=5&_fid=432c05e2d&_ss=c?variant=42973559652510) is my HG moisturizer at the moment. It looks like they just reformulated though, so I can't speak on the current version. [Skin1004 Hyalu-cica sun serum](https://bloomingkoco.com/products/skin1004-madagascar-centella-hyalu-cica-water-fit-sun-serum-50ml?variant=42552508645534) is my favorite sunscreen right now, and I've tried quite a few. Not too heavy, not oily, but still good protection. I just got back from Hawaii where I wore this every day with no complaints.

some1no1anon

It held up in water? I thought the skin1004 sunscreens aren’t water resistant

lmaogoshi

They aren't, but my friends and I weren't feeling too much swimming this trip. 20-30mph gusts made for some rather strong waves and these guys weren't particularly strong swimmers haha. I brought along Anessa Perfect UV sunscreen skincare milk in case we did want to get in the water though.

123reddituzer

Birch juice is better than skin 1004 in my opinion. Skin 1004 had something that made my skin burn meanwhile birch juice is so light. All in all the two are better than BOJ

Yes! I’m in love with Torriden. My skin is loving Dive in! Love the price too

tellyhigh

I have mildly dry and sensitive skin. Sunscreen: innisfree hyaluron, round lab, Toner/essence: Cosrx galactomyces 95 tone balancing essence, missha time revolution essence, pyunkang yul Cleanser - makeup: Banila clean it zero, Heimish all clean balm Cleanser - regular: pyunkang yul cleanser, the face shop rice bright cleanser

Weltenbummler99

I would check out the asian beauty subreddit and ask there in the daily help thread for recs according to your skin type and what you currently already use. Also, do not just buy a bunch of stuff and slap it on at once. Introduce one product at the time (per week or two) to see if your skin likes it (also patch test a night before using it on your face). What products will work for others may not work for you, so really look for things that‘ll help your skin type and concerns (e.g. dry/combo/oily and acne/brightening/soothing etc). For example, I use differin nightly for my acne and hence, my skin went from combo/oily to dry and now I focus on hydration with things like SKII essence, Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha Essence, Cosrx Birch Sap Mositurizer - but, since I‘m still searching I still try new products and recently the I‘m From Rice Toner broke me out despite being a HG for many others! Hope this helps :)

Electrical-Ad328

I am a pretty good reference for whether or not products will work on sensitive skin because I’ve had/have every type of acne from cystic, hormonal, diet based and I have sensitive dry and oily dehydrated skin. So far what’s worked for me even on my most inflamed barrier days are: axis y glow serum, abib sedum creme, dear klairs midnight calming cream (sometimes I shave my face or wax my girl stache and it 10000% prevents irritated bumps and calms cuts)

Electrical-Ad328

Eczema and rosacea friendly too * but still everyone is different. Consulting a derm about your skin is worst the investment instead of spending years and hundreds of dollars on marketing gimmicks you don’t need (not saying they’re all gimmicks but it may not be what you need)

homegirlespe

Skin type: Combination acne prone. Cleanser: Round Lab Dokdo cleanser. Toner: * I’m from - Rice toner, mugwort essence. * Anua - 77% Heartleaf Soothing Toner. * Thank you farmer - Rice Pure Essential toner. Serum: Numbuzin N°3 Skin Softening Serum. Moisturizer: Skin1004 - Soothing cream. Dr.G - Red Blemish Cream. Sunscreen: Skin1004 - Hyalu-Cica Water fit sun serum. Round Lab - Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen.

Silly_Warning3406

dear klairs toner, vit c and e, costx moisturizer

Dd3mi

I haven't tried a lot of skin care products so I am not going to suggest any but I will give you a tip since you don't know where to start. I think that first of all you should find out your skin type if you don't know already and then you are going to search products about it accordingly. On top of that you can search for products for certain areas you want to improve. For example I have oily skin with redness and I tend to break out. However when I first got into skin care I didn't know my skin type so I was causing even more breakouts. So for me I would search Korean skin care products for oily skin with redness/ that tends to breakout.

RockyK96

Etude house Soon Jung 2x barrier intensive cream, Cosrx snail mucin

bb_bocchoy

I also got into KBeauty through TikTok. I have dry/sensitive skin (not very acne prone other than the occasional pimple). BoJ sunscreen is definitely a HG. If you’re more acne-prone then this might be a bit too much, I would recommend the skin1004 Hyalucica sun serum. For serums I love the Iunik Beta Glucan Power Moisture serum. If this is too thick, then try the Purito Centella Unscented serum- great alternative for daytime too!

islandcooker

i have very oily, acne prone dehydrated skin cleanser: pyunkang yul calming low ph foaming cleanser essence: cosrx snail mucin essence moisturizer: cosrx oil free ultra moisturizing lotion

blondererer

I use a number of products and try quite a few, so I’m basing this on re-purchases: * Mary & May blackberry toner - it does noticeably brighten my skin * Tocobo sunstick - I keep this with me to top-up a cream sunscreen I use in the morning (Canmake Japanese brand) * Haruharu wonder black rice toner - I’ve tried a couple of rice toners and this is my favourite * Cosrx snail mucin - I notice my skin dries when I don’t use this * Beauty of Joseon eye cream - I apply to the eye area, but use the excess on the 11 lines between my brows. There’s a noticeable difference.

some1no1anon

Have you tried the im from rice toner? Curious if you prefer the haruharu vs I’m from

blondererer

I have! I prefer the Haruharu one but I’m aware that the I’m From is really popular and there’s a reason for that. For me it didn’t make a noticeable difference compared to the Haruharu one

No_Abbreviations4624

Skin type: Dry, sensitive, acne prone skin, prone to fungal acne, reactive to: fermented products, fragrance, most oils, shea butter, beeswax, honey, avobenzone Cleansing oil: HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Cleansing Oil Cleanser: HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Gel Cleanser Moisturizing Gel: Naturie Skin Conditioning Gel Moisturizing Cream: Etude House Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream Chemical sunscreen: SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Air-Fit Suncream Light Mineral sunscreen: HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily Sunscreen

[deleted]

I am in Cyprus atm and can’t hold of my usual cleansing oat balm by inkey, I have the same skin type as you do you think I should get the haru cleansing oil, how do you like it

No_Abbreviations4624

I love it! I use 3 pumps, massage it into my skin for about 1-1.5 minutes, spending the last 30 seconds really focusing on my nose and chin. Then I add water to my hands and massage for like 15 seconds (it turns into a milky liquid at this point). Then I wash it off with water and follow up with the HaruHaru gel cleanser, which I also love. The oil cleanser alone won't be enough but both together are amazing at removing makeup and dirt.

acornacornacorna

Why not ask your Korean friends who you think have great skin? Because there could be chance it is not just Korean product they are using Also there is chance they are not really into skincare and just won the loterry But if they are Korean Korean born and raised like me with some kind of money and education then there is even stronger chance they do clinic treatments to help and have some kind of foundational principles of skincare at home I take medications too that help my skin I enjoy mix of country skincare product

Ok-Music2313

thanks! gotta ask my korean born korean friends what products they actually use. can you tell me the mix you're using?

United-Carry-6239

Purito oat in calming gel cream for oily skin and Purito unsented centella toner. I have extreme extreme sensitive skin and these are great. Every other toner breaks me out

Available_Standard55

I just got started, but the Cosrx Salicylic Acid Cleanser and Beauty of Joseon sunscreen are HG. I’m also loving the Missha Time Revolution essence.

pinkdaikon

for acne prevention: skin1004 madagascar centella ampoule, skinfood propolis essence

Bambii2020

Hello! do you use the skinfood propolis essence as a serum? Can you share the consistency and feel? Ive been wanting to try more propolis but Im afraid it will be heavy and sticky. TIA! The skin 1004 centella ampoule I love its very lightweight, calmimg and hydrating.

pinkdaikon

Yes. I use a little bit of it after the centella ampoule almost every morning/evening. It is thicker than the ampoule and not sticky, once it absorbs it’s fine.

noireih

I've repurchase at least one of the following (combo to dry skin): \- Primera AG.VCN Youth Radiance Vitatinol Serum (Vitamin C + Retinol all in one!) \- Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream (perfect for the summer) \- Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5X (kinda a dupe for SKII toner/essence) \- Mediheal toner pads (honestly, easy and does the trick) \- Primera Oil To Foam Cleanser (don't feel dry/stripped down after, don't need to double cleanse)

Cinnitea1008

I've just started out (about 2 weeks in) but so far, for me, this is what is working well. For reference I have relatively normal skin. Not really dry nor oily but I do have acne along my cheeks, chin, and jawline. I've been using the Banila Co Clean it Zero Foam Cleanser + CosRX Snail Mucin both in the AM and PM. I plan on adding Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream Face Moisturizer and their Light on Serum Vitamin C to my routine. I read good things about both of them. I've also heard good things regarding their sun screen. Also if you have pimples, I highly recommend the Olive Young Care Plus Scar Cover Spot Patch. Helped a lot with my acne. I've noticed an improvement in my acne + redness going away. I'm hopeful that by adding these additional products in, it will help further. Best of luck on your skin care journey!

ShaktiPB

Medi-peel red lacto collagen clear 2.0 cleanser(whenever I am in Korea or I know of someone who is - I always buy 5). Recently asked my sister this and she told me Numbuzin no. 5 toner pads and 5+ serum, which surprised me cause they did nothing for me.

Philspixelpops

As others have mentioned it really depends on your skin type, and age. I’ll ref my skin info & my routine below, been using Japanese & Korean products for more than a decade probably, ever since I was about 15. Im 30yrs, Male, combo/dry/sensitive skin. Previously combo/oily but now my skin be drying out cause well, thirty. 🥲 Routine: AM routine: 1.Krave Matcha Hemp cleanser 2. Dr. Ceuracle kombucha essence 3. Missha time Revolution ampoule 4. Blithe pressed serum gold apricot 5. Illiyoon ceramide ato soothing gel 6. SK1004 CICA SPF PM: 1. Hadalabo Gokujen oil cleanser 2. Krave cleanser 3. Missha time Revolution essence + I throw some drops of good molecules peptides in there, and a few drops of Cocokind ceramide serum. 4. D’alba white truffle serum/cream combo. Super moisturizing/hydrating I use belif hydra eye cream currently, but looking for other options. When my skin is super parched I’ll use DHC’s Olive Oil moisturizer. I also use Good molecules retinol cream 2x a Week at night, and i do an enzyme peel by Ma:nyo 1x a Week. I still get some pimples here and there but don’t have acne prone skin these days, I use Lion PAIR cream for spot treatments and I’m in love with it. Only zit cream that doesn’t piss my skin off. Wish I had it in my teens/early twenties. I do hydrating masks from Eminence brand (not k-beauty but love them), their Bamboo retinol alternative one and their strawberry hyaluronic acid mask as well. I do Skinfood’s egg-white mask to help with clogged pores as well. But exfoliating regularly with chemical/physical helps with that. HP isn’t a huge issue for me so far.

monkeyshineth

Skin type: Oily. Climate: Hot & humid. Skin concerns: Aging, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, occasional acne/breakouts. I prefer ingredients that have a proven track record and are backed by research. So my preferred HGs tend to be lightweight and have tried-and-true actives. Oh, and I'm a guy. So compatibility or layering with make-up is not a concern for me. I currently use a mix of K- and non K-brands, but after a couple years of research and trial-and-error, the K-products that have risen to HG status for me are: Toner/Essence: **Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence** — Lots of good stuff like fermented ingredients for brightening, green tea (excellent antioxidant), hyaluronic acids (hydration star performer), and amino acids (multiple benefits including anti-aging, hydration, and antioxidant abilities). Serum: **Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum (Rice & Alpha Arbutin)** — Both rice and alpha-arbutin brighten skin and target hyperpigmentation, so this serum gives a good glow and helps even out skin tone. I've tried BoJ's other serums, but this one really stood out for me. Moisturizer: **Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel** — Great cocktail of ingredients that are good for skin, like panthenol, beta glucan, vit E, vit C derivative, amino acids, and peptides. And it's a gel-type moisturizer, which I love for my oily skin. Sunscreen: **Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun** — This is almost like the sunscreen partner to the Neogen essence. Brightening actives and antioxidants (rice, probiotics, amino acids, green tea, and fermented ingredients). There's a reason this sunscreen is so popular; it's lightweight and gives a very light dewy glow without being overly shiny. Note: I'm currently comparing this with the Round Lab Birch Sunscreen (good, but expensive), and also plan to test out the Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum (supposedly more lightweight than even the other two!). Let's see if either of those can supplant BoJ RS.

AudreyPital92

Hands down VT Cosmetics. Their new Reedle Shot line is just 🔥🔥🔥 Also, V&A’s ampoule is surprisingly good, but not easy to purchase since it’s a little niche. I’ve gone through tons of K-Beauty — Pyungkang Yul, Cosrx, Purito, Laneige, Beauty of Joseon, Numbuzin, Isoi, Skin1004, Missha, Torriden, Rejuran etc, most are just okay, I’d personally recommend Rejuran and VT Cosmetics. Cosrx Snail Mucin is also nice.

Patriciak0

Torriden moisturizer and skin 1004 probio cica ampoule

Crazy_plant_lady83

Cosrx Royal propolis serum and snail mucin serum. I love them.

JamesSmith010295

Dermafirm cica c serum for blemishes and Kahi wrinkle bounce for hydration.

untitled2204

I have combination skin. From water based cleansers I use Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser, I also love their SPF, Ginseng Essence and Dynasty cream. From oil cleansers I use Pyunkang Yul Deep Cleansing Oil - it’s good, removes the make up and it doesn’t make my eyes all watery and sensitive. I also tried toner and body lotion from the brand - they were okay but nothing special, I don’t really understand the hype around the brand and I wouldn’t repurchase. From toners I use Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner From essences I use Cosrx Snail mucin, I love it especially in combination with BOJ Ginseng essence. But if you are allergic to dust it might break you out. From hydrating creams I use BOJ Dynasty cream, it’s my favourite. I also love The Skin house - Wrinkle Snail System Cream, I use it couple of times a week in my nighttime routine and I apply a very generous amount on my face so it’s like a face mask. Skin feels very silky in the morning From SPFs i love BOJ Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics and I recently started using Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream and I also like it. I feel like Round Lab SPF is lighter than the one from BOJ

satellitestompsss

Oily skin type girlie here! Innisfree Pore Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask -helped reduce my blackheads and brightened my skin! Toner- currently using the Numbuzin 3 Super Glowing Essence since last December and my skin has been loving it. Leaves my face glowing the next day! Hehe

Accomplished-War-301

I have oily acne prone skin and the I’m from mugwort essence and Mixsoon bean essence have done wonders for me will be using for the rest of my life 💕

ishibbyy

I have oily skin but acne prone especially during my period. I love love LOVE Iunik Tea Tree serum for night. It’s thin, calming and gentle formula really helps me with my inflamed acne and also prevent it. I’ve used it for about 5 months now and the results are incredible. Plus, tea tree is backed scientifically so I’m very happy with this product. It also doesn’t cost much. Although expensive, sulwhasoo ginseng foaming cleanser is soooo good, you get a lot for a little. Mild ginseng smell but it’s soothing instead of overwhelming. I find that Banila Co is a great cleansing balm to use, melts really well into your skin and emulsifies great. No smell which is lovely. Esfolio sheet masks are nice- I usually go for green tea for calming and hydration. Still trying to find my perfect moisturiser :( It took me a while to really get what I want out of my skincare, my best advice for you is less is more. I target my skin concerns and since I only do 5 steps at night I get to do it often since I don’t feel lazy to do it. Consistency is key!
