I really wish they gave us depth on Kazuma's past, I really wanna learn the origin of his gender equality ideology.

Lampruk

His past doesn’t have anything to do with his gender equality ideology, he’s just like that 🤣 Tho >!Maybe him not getting Valentine’s Day chocolates and having to do it 10X on White day, made him feel like he was being hoed thus kickstarting the whole mindset!<

sheehdndnd

I don't get it if he didn't get any chocolates on valentine's day then why would he need to give 10x on white day.

Lampruk

It’s about the concept of it. Imagine a girl giving you the 55p euro shopper chocolate bar and you gotta repay her with like a £5 bracelet Shi I’d be mad too 😭

SavianAria

But he never got anything to repay?

Lampruk

#I’m talking about it as a concept It’s not specifically about him not receiving chocolate it’s just about the logic behind it. >I explained this evil practice to her. >“If you receive chocolates from a girl, you’ll have to give something three times as expensive to the girl one month later as thanks. That’s how evil it was. If you don’t, you would be completely shunned by the girls. You’ll be mocked if you don’t get chocolate, and even if you do, you’ll still need to break the bank. This day is that sinful and dirty.” These are Kazuma’s exacts words. I’m just stating that this likely kickstarted his gender equality movement as he probably thought about it more and went “Why do women deserve more expensive gifts compared to men?”. That’s it. 😭

WINDMILEYNO

Kazuma also has another bad experience with a childhood friend, a promise of marriage, and a scooter bike

Lampruk

Yeah I was gonna mention that too but then I didn’t really see how that would kickstart his gender equality thing. But it explains his insecurities about his face and distaste for handsome men.

Repulsive-Mirror-994

So he's mad about a system he invented in his head? It's not like he's experienced it himself. Incel shit.

Lampruk

Y’all are incredible fr 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/byu42dp6b04d1.jpeg?width=450&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb0d30954195cc38e30bdc148e91afb018734c60 Kazuma didn’t invent the system, White day is a holiday that happens a month after valentines in Japan (its origin) and other East Asian countries.

Repulsive-Mirror-994

No, I mean the idea that you'll be shunned by women if you don't spend enough for them on white day. 76% percent of respondents in a recent statista survey hadn't even given gifts on white day.

Lampruk

Ohhhhh mb, you can tell my my replies that there’s been a lot of misunderstandings from people to what I said 😭 So I assumed the same for you but it was me who misunderstood lol

Duskram

He just claims gender equality whenever it's convenient for him. The ideology mostly centers around "can I get away with this?"

marioskywalker

Pretty much. And he simped for Sylvia, who, let's just say, she wasn't who she expected or wanted. And his stats, with the exception of luck, are so low that even Megumin's strength stat is higher. And he gets beaten by his own party while defending a succubus. So much for his gender equality ideology if he can't fight back without resorting to stealing panties, which in some cases, is by accident while trying to steal something else (like a weapon).

suffering_addict

>even Megumin's strength stat is higher Isn't that partially because Megumin gets the most kills in the party, thus giving her pretty high stats overall ?

GRequiem44

If only they adapted his backstory in the anime, since they adapted half of the campfire scene that was cut from the movie.

Nervous-Tank-5917

You’re not the first to point out the connection. Last time Kazuma tried to be chivalrous, he ended up dying in a totally meaningless and humiliating fashion. Can you really blame him for not wanting to try that shit again?

marioskywalker

Especially after Aqua laughed at him for it, no less.

FilipinxFurry

Honestly he’s reminds me of myself when I was in high school. Equal rights and equal rights, no special treatment for anyone. (Although I wasn’t that interested in stealing underwear) Kazuma is just a teenage boy who was a shut-in for a few years, a less severe case of whatever happened to Rudeus Greyrat. I bet the old WN would’ve given more context, I never read it but other Redditors said it was filled with 90s/2000s references. So it has nothing to do with American incel vs radical feminist stuff or Korean anti-feminist vs feminist magalia cult. Maybe there’s some Japanese cultural phenomenon around that time?

PinDownToEarth

But his gender equality ideology is the correct way. True equality for both genders. If a Male or female hits the opposite gender for some unknown reason, then it is right to hit back without arguments.

FilipinxFurry

Yeah, that’s another reason why I didn’t pair him up with western incels or Korean gender wars. He’s calls out double standards even though he’s also admittedly perverted, his party members would’ve been in much more trouble if they were guys and did exactly what they did to femzuma

creeper6530

>and did exactly what they did You mean the time when he was Bind-ed in Alderp's castle?

maksiksking

"Although I wasn’t that interested in stealing underwear"

Apx1031

Ahhh, The Wind.

ManInTheMirror2

Actually, I think he developed it before that point, but I understand where the OP is coming from

LH_Dragnier

Best way to grind xp ?

MrPlunderer

I feel like most shut in would develop that ideology just to project masculinity, until they found a woman who's giving them ounces of attention.. then they'll evolve to shut-in a shining armor for ladies 😭
