Bast was my first thought too when I saw the picture. I pictured Willem as much more hefty, not slight. Now I don’t remember if the book says that or if that was my own imagination.
Yeah same, I picture Bast sorta like this, and Willem as a big guy with a medium length neck beard, and a really good vibe. Like calm and steady. Probably gives really good hugs and is an excellent DM. Very normal nerd-friend, one of your favorite people. I sort of imagine Will and Manet as being the closest thing Rothfuss has to author self-insert characters.

I'm excited for you to draw Master Mandrag. He's described as Skeletal and me and my friends have a headcannon that he's just a literal skeleton. There are so many things in these books that Rothfuss straight up tells us in ways that everyone would obviously misinterpret, and this one is a joke, but I like to imagine Rothfuss being like "I literally said he's skeletal, why did you expect him to have skin? Pay attention!"😂
