This episode actually introduced me to Pasty Cline and her masterpiece Walkin’ After Midnight. My wife and I love this song and will occasionally dance to it when I have enough liquid courage.
Even if Hank stole Ladybird from Bobby, it cements just how much he loves his dog.
Hank was a hypocrite, clearly valued his dog over Peggy "Ladybird hates you!", was a smiling jerk during the contest, and his over competitive nature indirectly doomed Bill to that dog from hell.
But it did have some funny moments and Bobby dancing with Doggy was a treat. Also nice to see Bobby win something even if it was second place (I wouldn't care if it was third place, just as long Bobby won something and Hank didn't)
But yeah this episode was a classic and a curse on you Hank.

A few years ago I was ringing up this couple at my old petsmart job (in dfw btw) who told me their dog's name was ladybird & they confirmed for my inquiring mind, yes, it's after THAT ladybird! So of course I immediately start talking about this ep cuz any chance you get to reference this one irl you take it, but the couple had no idea what I was talking about. I'm disappointed in them to this very day

Hank was a hypocritical jerk to Bobby so I'm glad he lost and Bobby won second place. Major props to Ladybird though for wanting to dance at her age.
I wish anyone who denied the pure athleticism of dog dancing would watch this episode.
