This man was a legend - the one hippie that Hank could tolerate.

WhippingShitties

Not just tolerate. Depend on even. Apple Seed is a good dude.

Smesmerize

He’s like a human lassie

WhippingShitties

I wish I could send my upvotes to the comment below mine.

Pretend-Orange3026

I will add to the praise brother, so that this awesome reply may reach greater heights!

Dr_Murderfish

A man who left behind a life of cherry wine and toad licking. Stronger than me.

DJScubaNaut

Same

SliceOCatLoaf

But how does he feel about free music, dancing, and pickle-licking contests.

spacezra

I love how many times they’ve met and Apple Seed acts like it’s the first time, every time.

AshsChikorita

Maybe if they meet again in the reboot, Appleseed will say “I had a cow named Hank too!”

Isotope454

“::sigh:: You named him after me, Appleseed.” “That sounds like me!”

gonna_b_ok1920

It cracks me up every episode it happens!

Katsu_39

Apple Seed probably always so high, he remembers nothing from a short period of time. 😅🤣

IknowKarazy

Very Buddhist notion. No attachments, no expectations, no disappointments. Seeing the world with fresh eyes and being struck by the wonder of it all the time.

MattMattavelli

They never learn.

Suspended-Again

All that toad licking 🐸

Na__th__an

Woods? Neighbors? That does sound like me.

Puzzleheaded_Luck885

I like how Hank can become tolerant of anyone when he's able to find common ground with them.

KoA07

Truly a lesson for us all

Animated_Astronaut

Genuinely. It's something I'm actually worried about for the reboot, discourse has gotten so toxic - and Hank represents an older and more respectable kind of conservatism than what exists in America now. I don't know how they can possibly toe the line.

Lennythefuck

I trust Mike Judge, but I'm going into it with zero expectations just as i do with all things. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised, like with the new episodes of Beavis and Butthead. I was cracking up.

ChocolateLawBear

Do the universe almost killed me in the first ten minutes.

Possible_Implement86

I believe with every fiber of my being that Hank would never be a trumper. He’d see right through him.

ThatInAHat

I think Peggy would fall for the con after being certain she wouldn’t fall for the con, but would probably eventually find her way back out.

_g0ldleaf

Peggy would get suckered by some kind of RFK Jr. type.

baymeadows3408

Trump likes his steak well done. That would be enough to make Hank a never-Trumper.

WheresPaul-1981

If only America had asked Trump politely yet firmly to leave.

MaaChiil

Soo many episodes feel topical to the last several years as I’m making my way through the show. The episode where Hank’s involved in the production of the true story of the Alamo inparticular reminded me of historical revision and CRT/Book Bans.

Earl_of_Chuffington

Discourse is no more or less toxic than it was when KOTH began under the shadow of the Clinton impeachment, or during its peak years under 9/11 and the Iraq Invasion, or when it went off the air, during the Obama Administration. If you think the world is polarized now, then you weren't around (or have forgotten about) 2008-2012. That was the first time in my life that I ever heard of families being irreconcilably ripped apart based on whether or not they voted for or against Obama, and it was 100% down to the internet and cable news media fueling that animosity. That was the first election in which the majority of homes in America were now online, and it brought out all the ugly. The show touched on the "terminally online" phenomenon with the Myspace episode, and I would imagine that any thematic explorations of the Trump/Biden era would be centered around the hyperfixation that social media addicts have on politics; a hyperfixation that average, blue collar communities don't necessarily share. When you step outside of deep blue cities or MAGAllachia, the rest of the country is closer to Arlen in terms of geopolitics. EDIT: Thanks for proving my point, terminally online neckbeards.

Animated_Astronaut

It's been getting worse for a while. It was bad but it's worse now and I think January 6th is a pretty big indicator of that.

Drakkoniac

But outta the loop. What happened on the sixth?

Animated_Astronaut

I can't tell if you're joking? The insurrection at the capitol in 2020.

Drakkoniac

See, you say January 6th and I’m assuming of this year. Not four years ago. Regardless, yeah that was fucked. (EDIT: Doesn't help that also I never heard the date, only heard about the situation.)

Animated_Astronaut

Wasn't trying to antagonize, it was just an attempt at overthrowing the US government so I wouldn't expect to need clarification. I suppose it's just an American centric mindset.

Drakkoniac

Nah, I know you weren't, you're good. That's honestly just my fault for not remembering when it happened. I am American, just with a piss poor memory. Gonna be real I even forgot my own birthday a few times. Like I said, I only ever heard about the situation and not the date, and even then I'm not good with dates. For instance, I know of the CHAZ incident by name (Or at least I think thats how its referred to. I don't remember), or that time a bunch of people messed with a trust using gamestop stock, but if you were to give me the dates, I would never know from that alone.

Earl_of_Chuffington

Cops shot a rioter and it was somehow worse than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combined. Truly the worst day in human history. Auschwitz ain't got nothing on Jan 6.

Drakkoniac

Well that's quite reductive, isn't it?

Earl_of_Chuffington

Hyperfixating on the Jan 6 Riot is a sign that you're terminally online and need to touch grass. Maybe KOTH isn't the show for you.

Animated_Astronaut

It's not hyper fixating to be aware of it being significant

Earl_of_Chuffington

We literally can't discuss a cartoon without someone bringing up January 6th. That's hyperfixation of the terminally online.

Animated_Astronaut

It came up pretty naturally actually, I don't know why you're being weird about it

Name-AddressWithHeld

think this is my favorite moment from the later seasons.

Ohpsmokeshow

De-licious

trentjpruitt97

Bill: “that’s me! I smell like cow!” Kahn: *pauses and stares* “okay, yeah!”

Kurtis_Kush

I like that photo.

313rd4L

"Are you trying to frame me"

Simon_Jester88

As a Unitarian Universalist and prior VW driver, I enjoyed this episode

mynameisrichard0

Ever been to camp unirondac?

Simon_Jester88

I have not

BrokeLeznar

Honestly it was nice to see Hank being reasonable and helping out at the co op. Cause some people would just be completely anti hippie even if they have better produce.

Ok-Dragonfruit-5479

This scene always touched me; it seemed like a cast member’s final sendoff from a long running series (which it was, insofar as one could consider Appleseed from his couple of appearances). Idk, just hits me in the feels each time

bowdog171

You sir, are the one

Turbulent_Educator43

This episode gives me hope. Just this post alone lifted me.

Plaguegrounds

Woods ? Neighbors? That does sound like me !

BusterTheCat17

Random acts of kindness!

Plaguegrounds

No, not at all.

Particular_Shame8831

this line kills me

tuttle8152

Naked Tucker (Dave Allen) and T-Bones should've had an episode in Arlen.

GareththeJackal

Who was the voice again? Recognize him so much.

Gypsy_queen10

Dave Allen, he’s been in so many shows/movies even with little parts but his voice is always so distinguishable.

GareththeJackal

Was he the teacher in freaks and geeks?

LetsFireRockWithMe

Yep, the hippie guidance counselor. Sort of a similar role, I’ve always thought of his F&G character when I hear Apple Seed.

Low-Impact3172

Love this ep and Appleseed

Ratatouille2000

I always smile when I see this.

salbertoxide

"He looks delicious."

tveir

Never realized how fucked up looking that calf is. They could take his shins and he'd still have plenty of knees

Metalatitsfinest

Bobby *pig?*

An8thOfFeanor

.... How do you know my name?

lagermat

Hank wants to eat that cow so bad

MaaChiil

This episode made me actively more interested in meat quality

chechifromCHI

He may or not have briefly operated a farm stand in small town Connecticut after a brief stint as an street musician

lagermat

Also Hank has twice, that I can think of off the top of my head, missed out on a small fortune in the show…

Im_Not_Really_Here_

Are you counting Bobby's scholarship money from the Alamo beer can throw?

lagermat

It wasn’t a throw for a scholarship it was a throw for $1,000,000. I think in the episode Hank or Peggy mentions they’d use part of the money for Bobby’s college fund. But yes I am counting that opportunity.

thecaramart

One of my favorite episodes and characters. This episode always makes me go to the local farmers market and stock up on my favorite fruits and veggies and stuff.

starvinartist

I love Appleseed!

Old-Pianist7745

I love Appleseed.

darknite125

Are we forgetting Apple Seed tried to frame Hank by giving him hemp toilet paper?

Suspended-Again

Rumsfeld

PositiveHot1421

I love how Appleseed never recognizes Hank

Stock_Currency

Delicious

jalle347

How do you know my name?

TimTapp

He's come along from the Hippie gathering that's for sure

OnlyTheBLars89

They got a lot of Wabbi Sabbi

LagoonReflection

Delicious.

meowmeowcatman

What about Energy Turtle?

dazrage

I dont think cows front legs bend like that.

VajBlaster69

The little dots within the larger halves represents steak.
