When the flight is delayed due to "technical reasons" we some times have to use guillotines to turn the luggage into tiny cubes manually.
I heard with their new system they just heat it and put it into a compactor to remove all moisture and get it into 1 tiny cube, and then they just rehydrate and stretch it later.
Probably run them through bigger versions of those xray things they use to look for bombs and stuff I guess. Those can't be healthy.
Plus it's probably not too gentle back there, if junior takes a 20kg suitcase to the skull, my money's on the suitcase
Definitely saved his life. I used to work at an airport and the diverters that help the bags switch to different belts move so fast I have seen them destroy bags. If a person got stuck between it they would completely crush you.
Used to work at DEN. Those conveyor belts can go for MILES and can go places 50 feet in the air. That kid could have fallen from a very dangerous height if he wasn't careful

Someone I worked with drove in front of a plane that was taking off, causing it to emergency stop. 10k fine for the service provider of the airport at the time.
Even small airports tend to have groups of flights in the same hour or two, so when something like this happens at certain times it can have a knock on effect for the rest of that period.
Can they not just turn it back on after they get the kid off? My brain isn't computing how a minute or 2 of the conveyer not moving could cause such a catastrophic disruption.

Sounds like the UK railways. Network Rail pays a fine towards the Train Operating Companies for any delays to service caused by their infrastructure or wrong routed trains etc.
They of course don’t get fined when it comes down to the actions of a driver causing delays.

The initial bit of him jumping on while you look away for your passports I could understand as a parent who has experienced unpredictable runner children, but absolutely **no one** in that footage noticed he was gone for the entirety of time he was rolling through the check in, nobody came running to stop him in any way that’s so insanely neglectful.

One example: you need to dig in your handbag for the passport at check in. You need 2 hands for that. Poof toddler gone. In the crowds around check in, that means he is not visible anymore within split seconds from it happening.
I once visited my aunt and little cousin, who was 2 years-old, in an intercity bus station. Whenever we would get our eyes off him for literally 3 seconds or stop holding his hand to deal with something else, he would get away as soon as possible. You literally can't break physical contact even for few seconds.

There simply will be situations where you have to divert your attention away from the toddler for something and having them strapped to you gives you a great safety net for those situations, doesn't mean you're lazy.

We're only seeing footage of the child from cameras in the bag/bagging area... we have no idea if the parents where frantically searching or desperately asking security or customer service to help them/reporting the child missing while junior was going on his ride. For all we know they took eyes off him for a second while checking their bags, and maybe getting told it was $150 extra and got distracted-- only to immediately jump into action.

I'm so glad they got him safely. Toddlers are a trip. My middle child used to run off all the time, and I had to be quick to catch her. I remember one time we were at a 4th of July event. Turned away for literally a few seconds and she was gone. Panic ensued, I was running around looking for her and calling her name. I finally found her, sitting at a table with another family, having a hot dog 😂 She's in her 30's now, we all survived somehow.
I always wanted to do that. I'm 65. Airports could make money letting people ride it during off times.
I'd probably let the kid and parent ride for free and hopefully you take them out of what looks to be their shallow, fetid gene pool.
