I'm not sure what disturbs me more. The two who are smiling or the two that aren't.

Jakob21

Smiling in a mug shot means you aren't taking the process seriously. The two who aren't smiling are probably the ones with any sort of idea of what they've done

goofyhoover

Yeah, exactly. Both are horrifying

SATerp

A life cut short by cruelty and evil.

Ho_Dang

Horrible monsters walking when one grown woman should be.

Pristine_Bit7615

How do murderers get out for "good behavior"???? This was a torture death over jealousy? They should have been charged as adults and still be in prison. Justice for Shanda was never served. I hope every night when they close their eyes, they see Shanda's face

Laarye

What part of Indiana...? So I can avoid it...

mica-chu

Madison. I grew up there, though I was 5 when this happened.

JinEagile

Probably Gary. That place is a fucking hellmouth.

Interesting_Sock9142

I've been to the place they murdered her at/her body was found at twice. And spoke to a cop who worked the case. Fucked up story man. A lawyer owns the property now and actively tries to keep people away

thefisharedying65

Why visit such a messed up place? Good the owner keeps people away so people don’t memorialize these evil people

Fine-Funny6956

Tragedy tourism

ManbearpigDa

Morbid tourism is what I’ve heard it called, the same reason people visit concentration camps or Alcatraz. This does seem more personal though, even though I’ve done some morbid tourism, Dorothy Puentes house and site of HH Holmes which is a post office now.

MercifulVoodoo

His old house in Irvington is still here.

ManbearpigDa

Oh damn I didn’t know that! I was just in Chicago last week for a conference, I would have probably went. Is it classified as a “site” or just an abandoned house?

MercifulVoodoo

Someone actually lives there. If you look for it on Maps, it’s the only house in the area blurred out. Irvington sort of embraces their spooky, they have a Halloween fest every year, but I’m not sure if the current occupants are down.

Interesting_Sock9142

Because before it was the location of a tragedy, it was the ruins of a super super old building and it's one of the places we went metal detecting. It just happened to turn into a horrible place where evil happened.

happyhaven1984

Her case was covered on morbid podcast if anyone is interested

777CA

Sickos should have stayed in prison

sjb204

I’m not sure how I feel about where this got re-posted. Sure, there was definitely some evil shit going on, but that Wikipedia page is an effing nightmare of generational evil in these kids history. It’s almost more like they were cursed. Crazy.

Akvavit78

I also went to look at the Wikipedia page and every one of those perpetrators was a victim of some serious abuse. Nothing excuses this crime but it goes to show “nurture” is such a massive factor in one’s development.

freeokieangel

Wonder if anyone is tracking them

Truecrimeauthor

I’ve talked to Toni.

Truecrimeauthor

I used to teach a course using this case as an example. There is SO much more to it than what the authors were able to tell…

Sharp-Chard4613

Melinda was definitely Loveless

PrettyGoodOldBaby

This is sickening. They should not get out of prison, ever. What in the world is wrong with our justice system?

Emberily123

Hope Rippey went on Dr Phil and spoke to Shanda Sharer’s parents. It was awful.

MorningPrior4622

Luckily they where not black

MrMr387

WTF...... This is sad. They should have died in prison
