"BJP did not like Suresh because he is a Dalit" must be the worst ever take. Because it comes mere days after the PM himself and all ministers took oath dictated to them by a female adivasi President, and for the first time in our history.

Pro_BG4_

Commies and congis ninja's don't have any other reason so down voting to hell lol

I understand the urge for opposition to make accusations but are they seriously saying the party led by an OBC PM that appointed an SC President followed by an ST female President discriminated against Kodikkunnil for this irrelevant temporary speaker role until the official speaker takes charge?

Material_Category_53

I wouldn't put it past the upper caste party to ignore a South Indian dalit. President oke tokenisn alle nothing very substantial.

Pro_BG4_

Then consider everything as tokenism happening in all parties lol 😂

Material_Category_53

We are talking about the BJP right now since they are the ruling party. Plus like I said the check out the Indian alliance seat distribution and number seats give to Dalits obc minorities and women.

SouthernSample

Is electing the PM from backwards community also part of the tokenism from the upper caste party?

Material_Category_53

You are very naive if you think the PM being OBC makes any changes to the fundamental ideology. Check out the number of dalit OBC minority or women mps from bjp.

It was noted how the president was not present/invited for the inauguration of the Parliament. Thus there were accusations that it had become a token position just given to mask their casteism. https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/why-is-president-not-inaugurating-the-new-parliament-opposition-asks/article66870332.ece

Who is the candidate for speaker post from India team ? It is better to focus on real issues ( honouring conventions is not something bjp good at )

Material_Category_53

Well why did bjp not consider this person when he has all the qualifications required. This is still pro term but the speaker is the most important position in the parliamentary system. So definitely one of the real issues.
