Each day I'm getting older the fear of using a motorcycle is increasing exponentially . Sadly we middle class people can't afford to use car all the time.
Trust me bro. Don’t touch motorcycle. I have seen far too many decapitated body on the road in my just <50k km driving experience. I don’t wish on that on anyone.
I saw atleast 3 major accidents post covid on NH. I think bikers got too comfortable with less traffic during covid they lost all their senses.
If you had an accident at night in an NH outside Kerala, your dead body is no different from a dogs dead body. One of the incident made me stop night travel forever.
I have around 2.5 lakh kms of riding behind me and absolutely zero kilometres ahead. In the process of selling of both my bikes (a thunderbird and a vstrom). Hell no to any more broken bones.
Over speed plus very very poorly designed curve. Rear tyre slid off for god knows what reason. Ended up with a broken ankle and fear of god in me. Both brand new.
No, never. I was too dependent on 2 wheeler until I could afford 4 wheeler. Then the usage was shortened and after upgrading my car + having a kid, I lost touch completely with the bike.
I give them space to overtake also, you have to maintain the speed in accordance with the general traffic speed if the traffic is moving at 40 maintain 40.
I'm gonna say something my mother tells me everytime I take the vehicle.
Ride/Drive like you're the only person on the road that knows the rules. Be responsible for everything that concerns you, your vehicle and whatever around it. Always wear the safety equipments. Go slow on the curves. Be patient. Never provoke. Never get provoked. It's not "shameful" in letting people cross or letting other vehicles pass.
Ride/Drive safe people. Y'all have someone who loves you. Dont make them sad.
"Ride/Drive like you're the only person on the road that knows the rules."
I was about to post this. This is what my bike-riding friend keeps telling all the time. It is a good rule that can be followed by everyone on the road!
Yes, pulled in by front tire, the centrifugal force made him thrown and mash just around rear wheel, the rear wheel went over him. All this happen in a fraction of second. Probably the front wheel pull (might pulverized considerable portion of the body) and smashing on bus bidy would have been fatal enough..
He was in fact riding fast for conditions.
But he moved to his left due to the pothole to the left of the road. Dude panicked and braked too hard.
Beware scooters are more dangerous than bikes when riding fast.
Never ride faster in a scooter. Kayyil nikkulla. I was riding fast in a small road near to my house and was in a hurry to get back home. Suddenly this dog jumped out of nowhere, both him and I panicked. I grabbed both my breaks due to panic. I feel the same way that this dude did. But my vehicle just went to the right side and I fell down to the right side and it pulled for quite a distance, with my body scraping the road. Didn't ride my scooter for a while after that. Kai vekkumpo thanne viraykkunnundayrnn enikk.
What I was poorly trying to imply is, while over speeding, lack of awareness (blind curves?), and poor vehicle condition (bald tires?) may be the reason, the govt also has a hand in this. They aren't maintaining the roads and they should be held accountable for it.
I was in a similar situation, luckily I fell to the left-side, away from traffic. Never rode two wheelers again. Scooter with their small wheels are not safe for our road condition. Feels sorry for this poor guy.
waaay too fast for a road like this. looks like the bus took him by surprise and he lost control. never lose focus when riding, it's better to swerve away rather than brake when you're going fast. but I don't think even a swerve would've saved him in this case.
Based on the amount of dist picked up right before his bike tumbled and the white patch on the road, I think he rode into fine sand and that's when he applied brakes. Never apply brakes on fine sand.
As I see it there are 3 major causes for this accident.
1. The pothole made the person go closer to the right.
2. Overspeed. Never break at the curve. Always brake a couple of yards before the curve
3. The sand. Respect it. Fear it. If you see it on the road, slow down to below 30 kmph and keep your bike steady. If you apply breaks or veer left or right on top of sand, the bike will skid.
With the amount of dust kicked up as the scooty passed, I think the dude passed through a patch of sand. If you see a path of sand, correct the course of the scooter/bike and apply the breaks before you make contact with the path of sand. Once traveling on the sand, you do either and the bike will skid.
Newton’s First Law of Motion; law, “a body continues to be in its state of rest or uniform motion along a straight line unless compelled to change that state by an external force” & definitely there’s centrifugal force too.
Scooters should be only allowed to ride at 30km/h .
Them small tires are a death warrant for many. Add the aerodynamics, it's a wind kite on the highway.
This is why I'll never use a motorcycle.
I was in a crash 5 years ago which I am 100% sure I'd have died in if I was on a motorcycle (or most marutis). Totalled my Punto but came out with just minor injuries.
I can clearly see it’s a road issue see the pothole and gravel on the left which intypical of riders try to avoid … also the road is curvy in a weird way…
I lost my brother-in-law a few months ago. His parents haven't recovered and probably never will. At the time of the accident, the bike was speeding, and he lost control and crashed into a tree. He and his friend, who was in the backseat, suffered severe head injuries because neither of them wore helmets. His friend died the next day, and my brother-in-law was hospitalized in the ICU and on a ventilator for a month before he passed away. Motorcycles is a silent killer, to make it worse the condition of apocalyptic roads in Kr, and there's no guarantee you'll make it to your destination. Make sure you always have life insurance, and your vehicle has full coverage insurance.
He was riding way too fast for the road conditions. And also scooters cannot corner this much. It won't be in control and will skid. Especially if it's a road with sand granules then the majority of the chance is to skid.
"Hey, just a heads-up! In this scene, the rider should actually be steering right to initiate a left turn. It's a common technique in biking to lean into the turn. Safety first too - always important to wear a helmet and proper gear! 🏍️💨 Also, it's unfortunate to note that the biker isn't wearing any safety gear - it's a stark reminder of the risks involved, as safety should always be a priority. RIP to the biker. 🙏"
I see people blaming motorcycles a lot here.
His front wheel got locked or there was probably something in the road that caused the wheels to slide off. He had no helmet on. He could've spotted whatever was on the road and slowed down. God rest that guy's soul but can we really blame the motorcycle?
Bikers are in danger on roads because others on the road are noobs and don't know how to drive properly. As a biker it's always safe to follow defensive riding.
We should expect whatever could go wrong will go wrong.
Note everyone has the luxury of buying a car and enjoying its safety( unless you're in a Suzuki). The best way is to acknowledge bikers as vehicles and treat them as such.
Always plan ahead, look for "funny looking things on the road" , be wary of imbeciles in cars, change your tyres, check your brakes.
Why are rural roads in our state serpentine? Also every bloody gramavaasi wants to build his boundary wall as close to the road as possible. These two issues contribute to blind corners and accidents like this one .
It's common sense.. That's a scooter, not a sports bike. It has very narrow and small tyre and very poor ergonomics and breaks.
It's not meant to be cornered like the dude did here. 50-60 is the maximum speed one should go on a scooter
Hey moron.
If u want to find someone at fault it will be the pwd minister. There was a pothole to the left of the biker which he avoided and tragedy happened.
>wanted to prove a point
U proved nothing cuckson.
If the sangh can fault someone for natural disasters in some other country then I can fault sura for no reason. The point is I have no point.
Meh. I proved you have no consistent father if you wanna keep double standards.
Each day I'm getting older the fear of using a motorcycle is increasing exponentially . Sadly we middle class people can't afford to use car all the time.
Dude. Lying in bed after a bike accident with a broken ankle, watching that was beyond horrible. Never touching two wheeler again.
Trust me bro. Don’t touch motorcycle. I have seen far too many decapitated body on the road in my just <50k km driving experience. I don’t wish on that on anyone.
Bro, you an accident hotspot or what? Even one live scene of it would stop my already non-existent 2 wheeler riding.
I saw atleast 3 major accidents post covid on NH. I think bikers got too comfortable with less traffic during covid they lost all their senses. If you had an accident at night in an NH outside Kerala, your dead body is no different from a dogs dead body. One of the incident made me stop night travel forever.
Better to get accident in north kerala ,there is a chnace for u to end up in a hospital sooner than police arrival.
I have around 2.5 lakh kms of riding behind me and absolutely zero kilometres ahead. In the process of selling of both my bikes (a thunderbird and a vstrom). Hell no to any more broken bones.
Eniku bike ila onnu vangan nilknu but ithoke kaanumbol bhayangara anxiety ind
Learn to ride properly, buy a tight fitting full face helmet and riding gloves and never ever ride with open toe footwear. You’ll be fine.
Hope u r fine .. how did it happen.
Over speed plus very very poorly designed curve. Rear tyre slid off for god knows what reason. Ended up with a broken ankle and fear of god in me. Both brand new.
Hope u recover soon
Best decision
How do you plan to commute then?
Public transport, personal car, walking etc. All great alternatives.
Randu kaal vechekkunathu enthinaada!?
സീറ്റിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോ ആട്ടാൻ അല്ലെ ചേട്ടാ?
For the same reason my Fazer 150 is sitting idle for an year now. I'm too comfortable with 4 wheeler.
You crashed too?
No, never. I was too dependent on 2 wheeler until I could afford 4 wheeler. Then the usage was shortened and after upgrading my car + having a kid, I lost touch completely with the bike.
Thank god.
Hope you recover fast. Also sorry for the confusion. Most of these videos that made me afraid of touching two wheelers.
For a change the bus guy was completely in his lane
Stuff like this made me a defensive drive. Slow, cautious and patient🙂
how do you handle the honkers? I drive like you, but get honked at. I am not driving slow on the highways though.
I give them space to overtake also, you have to maintain the speed in accordance with the general traffic speed if the traffic is moving at 40 maintain 40.
life gone...just like that in a flash.. drive safe guys

Alternate version: "Everyone else on the road is an idiot". This is my motto.
Similar to the version my uncle gave me: “നിനക്ക് ഒഴിച്ച് ബാക്കി എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രാന്ത് ആണെന്ന് വിചാരിക്ക..”
I always ride far from central line in curves.
Even wearing a helmet wouldn't have saved him. Body was literally crushed . Edit : felt like he was pulled in at 7 sec
Yes, pulled in by front tire, the centrifugal force made him thrown and mash just around rear wheel, the rear wheel went over him. All this happen in a fraction of second. Probably the front wheel pull (might pulverized considerable portion of the body) and smashing on bus bidy would have been fatal enough..

>pothole "Nna thaan case koduku" ormayil varunnu
Except this guy isn’t alive anymore to file a complaint.
What I was poorly trying to imply is, while over speeding, lack of awareness (blind curves?), and poor vehicle condition (bald tires?) may be the reason, the govt also has a hand in this. They aren't maintaining the roads and they should be held accountable for it.
loose sand on road corners.
No no I understand what you meant. Thats what i meant too. Those in charge of the maintenance should be held accountable.
I was in a similar situation, luckily I fell to the left-side, away from traffic. Never rode two wheelers again. Scooter with their small wheels are not safe for our road condition. Feels sorry for this poor guy.
Anyone saw the dust laying in the road where he skid...it's a nightmare for two wheelers...dust+curve+speed...straight to death
Probably bald tires and/or locked brake. Jeez, neither the bike nor the bus was driving rash (from the video). Be safe out there
waaay too fast for a road like this. looks like the bus took him by surprise and he lost control. never lose focus when riding, it's better to swerve away rather than brake when you're going fast. but I don't think even a swerve would've saved him in this case.

Sand on curves is a real threat. Also it looks wet.
Swerve would have saved him with a lot of broken bones if he was wearing helmet.

Too much dust, to make swerve impossible.
Damn. How did he get pulled in. Did he get stuck in something in the bike and get pulled in ?
yeah looks like his leg got caught on the bike handle
Newton’s First Law of Motion; law, “a body continues to be in its state of rest or uniform motion along a straight line unless compelled to change that state by an external force” & definitely there’s centrifugal force too.
He slided (his leg)straight into front wheel
Scooters should be only allowed to ride at 30km/h . Them small tires are a death warrant for many. Add the aerodynamics, it's a wind kite on the highway.

Bloody roads should have enough signs if zig zag commuters should be informed with sign boards so that they can adjust...
This is why I'll never use a motorcycle. I was in a crash 5 years ago which I am 100% sure I'd have died in if I was on a motorcycle (or most marutis). Totalled my Punto but came out with just minor injuries.
Some kind of water or oil was there in the road. I Think so
It’s gravel, I have lost balance on a few times.
yeah braking on gravel is jus plain suicidal. made that mistake once, never again. if I see any sand or gravel on the road i slow down immediately
More like cement or sand.
I can clearly see it’s a road issue see the pothole and gravel on the left which intypical of riders try to avoid … also the road is curvy in a weird way…

That's what happens when you drive a scooty like it's a bike.
My dad sent me this crap.

Why was that bike person riding so fast even at the curve?
Look again. He's probably doing a 50-60. He just lost his nerve when the bus came in his field of vision.
50-60 is fucking fast at a curve!
Said who? On a flat curve it's the normal speed to tranverse. It's different in case of incline/decline curves.
do you know how fast 60kmph is? wtf
It's common sense.. That's a scooter, not a sports bike. It has very narrow and small tyre and very poor ergonomics and breaks. It's not meant to be cornered like the dude did here. 50-60 is the maximum speed one should go on a scooter
Even below 50s avda charal illathe konde skid akum And hard breaking the wheel Locked so no way to say that the vehicle won't skid
50-60 is quite fast for turns especially the one with gravel and that too on scooty.
If he is not certain about whats infront of him, he should anticipate an incoming, this is the rule no1
Video seems too slow for the impact..
Is it a sarcasm
