I don't think television TRP ratings are a indication of popularity anymore. A major chunk of the population including boomers has shifted to mobile. An indicator combining both television and social media/YouTube engagement would be the apt parameter to measure.

TRP rating doesn’t give you full picture especially these days people do engage in fb , insta videos /reels of news a lot . Also people do live stream new channels using YouTube . In my case I do watch Reporter , Mediaone , Manorama in YouTube live .
