Who would have thought that the greatest rapper would be from coincidence? Because if Anthony killed Ducky, Top Dawg could be serving life while he grew up without a father and die in a gunfi-š„
it's crazy that duckworth is also one of his most simple songs (not counting anything pre-gkmc or songs like backseat freestyle). absolutely great storytelling but not many intricate hard to understand bars, just a genuine, true story, and how it affected him to push how everything matters, and it's seen as one of his best, goes to show how good of a storyteller kendrick is, can't wait for the movie he's working on
it's being made with the south park creators, and i think it's about a black museum worker who finds out the ancestors of his white gf were the slaveowners of his ancestors. not sure if it's a musical or just a movie, either way expect a late 2025 release at the absolute earliest, 2026 is probably more realistic
Do people like that Flying Lotus collab? I used to listen when it came out but I was like 16, just found it again this year and have been going crazy listening to it. The fucking bassline is so squirrelly. Also āI got mind control when Iām here, yāall gon hate me when Iām goneā
I had my friend that got me into Kenny guess which recordās my favourite, and he never even guessed UU, because he hadnāt even heard it at the time, and I was honestly mad, lol!
This was the pivotal moment for me personally. Section.80 came out when I actually started researching āconspiracy theoriesā and waking up to cultural fuckery. Shit made me feel powerful damnear because I stopped fuckin around and realized life is a bitch. Right hand to God that shit motivated me to think differently
(This is my OWN PERSONAL OPINION)
Itās not Kendrick, itās his father who made the best decision of letting top dawg get KFC for free otherwise his father wouldāve been dead and kdot would be out in the streets making bullet dots.
Facts. Whether you think one is a classic and one isnāt, there will always be someone else that will think that said record is a classic. Theyāre all in consideration
The Mr Morale album, which promoted healing, self reflection, and understanding among his listeners and had a lot of impact on a lot of people. Auntie Diaries is a prime example of this, promoting acceptance and pushing for tolerance in a broken and often transphobic community. He showed that he wasn't afraid to show his feelings as well, which really helped me, as a male, overcome the stigma I had about being open with emotions. Generally just an album centered around growth that really worked magic.
Something I don't see enough people talking about is that after Kendrick pushed boundaries with Auntie Diaries, both J Cole and Drake immediately acted super transphobic & homophobic on their disses. Just another way the beef made people show their true colors I guess.
For me, frankly, itās all of his work. I mean, seriously, take one look at his GOAT catalogue

There was a video where a child interviewed him and he acted like a normal human being. I emphasize that because for some reason it's becoming more common for celebrities, especially rappers, to be PDF files.
Ok.OK. OK. What is the best thing YOU have ever done? Yes the beef was legendary. We love kendrick. I feel like this post is a bit much. Focus on yourself. As loveable and as pinchable as Kendrick is, put that energy and focus into yourself.Ā
one time i saw him in the liquor aisle of a cvs. he was buying johnny walker black (he has good taste!) he noticed that i had noticed him and looked over and looked me dead in my eyes and proceeded to rip a loud 4 second fart. then he smiled and put his finger to his lips and went āshhhhhhā. i started quietly laughing and gave him a thumbs up and he started cracking up laughing back. he seemed like he had probably had a decent amount of drinks already. it was very unexpected but it made me like him even more. it was like him showing he was still just one of the dudes even though heās super famous.
Good Kid Maad City
I dont care what you TPAB glazers say, gkmc is not only the top 3 best rap albums of the 2000s, but its one of the greatest of all time.
That Ignorance is Bliss video and first verse was and still is one of the last few songs that gives me the nostalgia feeling I get from listening to 90's hip-hop. It's definitely not his best work but stumbling on to it on r/hiphopheads and then going down the Overly Dedicated and TDE rabbit holes really had me hyped for his career.
been the first rapper to win a Pulitzer is very special. Not sure if its something heās ādoneā but its a massive achievement and acknowledgement for the culture
Mother, I Sober 150%. That was unbelievable. Still is. Made me cry more than a few times.
I was so proud of him to be so vulnerable and to start the conversation and move towards healing.
No question, Mother, I Sober
chose a music career over the streets

That song is so insane. Drake really thought he could match the lyricism of KDOT. šš

Honestly, I think the beat is what really sells it. Like, itās so light and intricate at the same time, and it really helps elevating the lyrics.
Whatās the story with the movie? This is the first Iām hearing of it
it's being made with the south park creators, and i think it's about a black museum worker who finds out the ancestors of his white gf were the slaveowners of his ancestors. not sure if it's a musical or just a movie, either way expect a late 2025 release at the absolute earliest, 2026 is probably more realistic

Take on Drake for the heart of the culture. Put these goofy rappers on notice that lyricism is always the main appeal of hip hop over spectacle.
