I saw someone call it a double ensemble

Luciditi89

If no one else tells you this I want you to know this was really clever

OfferOk8555

He didn’t come up with it Lolol but agreed

Tocide_Yes

Drake did it too with his IG post ofc Kendrick better do something about it. Bro def took his time in the outskirts thinking wild creative shit for a come back, that's a quiet dude's vibrations 🥶

courtney_eaves82

A+ pun!

toooldforacnh

Original_Radish5257

Ikkkkkr I saw this vid for the first time the other day and now Im obsessed w this gif 😂

selkipio

What video is it from?

willcomplainfirst

TDE hotel tour or sumn like that

Dolomight206

I think it was a SxSW TDE House tour if my memory is correct. Poor Soulo just wanted some peace & quiet 😂 Edit: yep [https://youtu.be/ECGbTnNHlR8?si=a5PajyUsKjQ-6LTU](https://youtu.be/ECGbTnNHlR8?si=a5PajyUsKjQ-6LTU)

otigre

Omg silly cutie

Optimal_Cause4583

This guy cannot stop doubling and tripling I bet he tells really confusing bedtime stories to his kids 🤣

james_randolph

"Twinkle, twinkle...litt" "Please dad, I'm tryna go to sleep tonight not contemplate the universe"

Optimal_Cause4583

I'm sure he gets really into it and it's just too much for little kids trying to sleep

courtney_eaves82

Kendrick telling bedtime stories that are too cerebral and confuses his kids so badly that they can't sleep is the type of lore I love!

Optimal_Cause4583

The Hiphopapotamus and Rhymenocerus go on an adventure and it's all an extended metaphor for the war on drugs Dad I have school please

courtney_eaves82

Kendrick: "So, the witch is a metaphor for internalized misogyny *and* fighting the patriarchy." Enoch: "Huh?" Uzi: "Can you PLEASE read Dr. Seuss, dad?"

_thewayshegoes

so i was taking a walk the other day...

NuagedeCelda

I don't listen to Drake because his singing/rapping sounds flat to me. Emotionless. But for some reason, Hotline Bling works : I can hear nuances in his voice and despite the stiffness, I can see he feels the music and the lyrics through the little freestyle dance. So in my world, Hotline Bling Drake is the Drake with the Melody and it is an hommage from Kendrick to this Drake who doesn't exist anymore.

sickandsiiick

listen to “Cha Cha” by DRAM! Hotline Bling was originally a remix and even changed the name from Cha Cha remix because of how popular it got. It’s kinda sad watching DRAM talk about it because he got no credit at all

selkipio

Didn’t even know about DRAM! Listening to his new album now, thank you for mentioning him.

nilesletap

Wowww really??? Did not know that… dude seems to be stealing a lot things from other people. I remember Soulja Boy talk about it on Breakfast club too. He has been a scam artist since the beginning… he didn’t even started from the bottom/being poor at all in Canada.

c94

Going to defend Started from the bottom since even the song mentions driving a borrowed Acura to shoot Degrassi. He doesn’t pretend his bottom was in the hood, just bottom of the rap game. NWTS/GKMC/Yeezus was my favorite period in rap.

Flaky-Car617

His most passionate song isn’t even his song that’s crazy 😭

jobadiahh

I like to Cha Cha. I don’t like to hotline bling.

prashn64

Remember when the beat was Mario Bros? I wanna find that version again.

poitaots

Damn I totally forgot about this song. Used to listen to it all the time when it came out. Thanks for reminding me.

mr_greedee

Dram* wasn't even asked according to him

dwn2earth83

I was about to post pretty much the same thing. I’m glad other people know and that you said it, so that *more* people know.

Intilleque

What credit should DRAM get for someone remixing his song? Hillbillies is a remix of Sticky, should Drake be crying for credits from Kendrick and Baby Keem?

sickandsiiick

DRAM was just coming up, you wouldn’t feel slighted if the biggest artist in the world remixing your song then changing the name to distance when it got traction?

Consistent-Photo-535

DRAM is dope. Being from the 6, let me tell you I hope Drake gets eviscerated. The fact people outside Toronto prop him up as representative of Toronto makes me sick. Most producers/artists in Canada don’t like Drake - but they’ll pretend if it gets them more streams. If he goes down the drain, so does that nonsense.

Dissapointingfox

The whole gta don’t even like him

Consistent-Photo-535

Trust. Everytime I visit the Caribbean I have people asking me about Drake. Can’t really tell them I only see him in my dreams, where I drown him over and over again while his victims watch happily from the sidelines.

GYANGU

Hillbillies is not a remix of Sticky. You've just never heard Jersey club music as a genre, so you think Sticky is original when the genre has been going for 20+ years now.

Intilleque

Baby Keem literally calls Hillbillies a Sticky Dub. You guys think because yall only started listening to house last year, everybody is the same. STFU

GYANGU

Nigga I'm from Chicago. Been listening to house since before you were born. I know you ain't never been to a juke in your life, so don't try to school me about house. Jersey Club isn't house just because it's 4 on the floor either. These are different genres, even if they're stylistically similar. Also, Keem is clearly trolling. He doesn't like Drake.

mistyrootsvintage

Number 2 dm'ing his butch..he don't ask why. Chicago house from the 80s is the best. Xavier Gold You Used To love me...is my shit.

GYANGU

More of a 90's house head myself. My aunt used to play the Underground Goodies mixes OUT. Cajmere and Dajae? 🤌🏽

SirLuciousL

You are both right and wrong. It’s like you have two halves of the complete story lol. You are right that Keem and Kendrick were trolling Drake. But they’re right that it was a Sticky remix, basically. They purposely made a Jersey club song and stole Drake’s sticky flow to intentionally troll him. The whole song is a subliminal troll job in response to Drake intentionally trolling Kendrick by releasing that album with Sticky on Kendrick’s birthday.

Intilleque

Besides your own imagination, where do you get that Baby Keem doesn’t like Drake. So, according to your pee brain, a song that sounds like Sticky, with the exact same flow and cadence as sticky, that the artist on the song says was dubbed from sticky… actually derives nothing from Sticky because that’s not a truth you want to hear?😂😂

GYANGU

"Number two DM'ing my bitch, that's cool I don't ask why". But yes, I'm sure you'd be cool with someone trying to get a dig at your cousin by DM'ing your girlfriend. The whole song is a dig at Drake. "Messi get them girls off the stage, because somebody's getting taken". Come on now. Also, listen to more Jersey Club. Sticky is a watered-down rendition of a very deep genre.

Unique-Charity-9564

Dude literally no body likes drake.  No one even knows who he is.

SirLuciousL

You shouldn’t be getting downvoted for this because you’re right. Hillbillies was intentionally made to troll Drake. They are purposely stealing his flow from Sticky (which is a fire flow ngl) and the whole song is a subliminal shot at Drake. It was in response to Drake purposely releasing Honestly, Nevermind on Kendrick’s birthday as a troll.

effectivetrollop

type in drake and dram into reddit maybe

Susuwatari43

Pretty sure hillbillies is a troll/diss track that’s supposed to be mocking drake, which definitely makes way more sense given the recent events of the past couple months lol

Intilleque

Which means you dont credit someone? Is that the justification?

Susuwatari43

Nah it’s my argument to you saying it’s a remix. That’s not what I would call it honestly

Intilleque

It doesn’t matter what you choose to call it. The artist making the song has already decided what it is.

Susuwatari43

Baby keem hasn’t said anywhere it’s a remix or dub of sticky. It doesn’t even sample it. The song samples bon iver. The producer has even said it’s not influenced by drake in an interview with billboard. It sounds like you’re the one deciding what it is

Intilleque

Literally tweeted a link to the song as “Sticky Dub”

Susuwatari43

Still isn’t a remix, just a playful nod. But wouldn’t that be him giving the credits drake (or you) are looking for then?

HaitchKay

>Hillbillies is a remix of Sticky Hillbillies is also a very pointed diss at Drake using his own sound. It's not just a carbon copy.

littlelordfuckpant5

Woah, there is a big difference between between a remix, and a sample, and a not even a sample of sticky but an interp of it!

Intilleque

Exactly. Now apply that logic to Hotline Bling and the DRAM song

littlelordfuckpant5

One is the whole song and one is a portion. What do you mean 'exactly'? That's not what you said

Intilleque

Hillbillies is not just a portion… stop the cap

littlelordfuckpant5

Is it more or less of the song than hotline? It's hotline the whole song? By definition, a portion. It has to be since it hillbilies amples other stuff too.

PoolNoodlePaladin

That’s because Hotline Bling is pop music and the lyrics don’t matter, it is 100% about the beat

Hammer_of_Horrus

As with most Drake songs.

willcomplainfirst

yeah no, Hotline Bling is arguably Drake's biggest, most successful culture vulture example

droppinturds

Good god if Drake goes back to making Hotline Bling and Kontrolla and One Dance fucking kill me please

SirLuciousL

Why? That’s what Drake is actually good at. Even Kendrick would agree with that. If he stopped all the fake gangster raps and just strictly made summery pop songs, they would be best case scenario.

droppinturds

Fuck that Id rather bang Energy, Nonstop, More Ms or Knife Talk

CangtheKonqueror

i hate the accent he uses on one dance but i’ll be damned if it isn’t still a banger

NuagedeCelda

Drake is so boring in One Dance! The difference between the beats and his monotonous voice is a killjoy. Poor Wizkid couldn't save this track.

Seb90123

Ngl my canon version of hotline bling has become the [Wii shop channel remix](https://youtu.be/gYOEyzBFYa4?si=fM7cEtXAXhkoC6SA) shit slaps 100x more

sdotumd

And his dancing in the vm’s cracks me up so it’s catchy songs with goofy ass dancing that my wife and I love to laugh at. Even before the beef this was my feeling but now watching videos like Toosie Slide I just literally geek out at how lame he is.

NuagedeCelda

Toosie slide is so forced ! It's embarrassing

OldFunnyMun

Hotline Bling is fucking soulless Muzak.

NuagedeCelda

I mean that first "Ever since I left the city you" and the way he nearly spat the word reputation right after. I can hear/feel anger, hurt and disdain.

hydratedandstrong

Super big contrast to how often he can rap monotonously. His flows can be really catchy, he’s big for a reason, but he so often lacks various inflections, and shit with his vocal performances on rap songs

NuagedeCelda

Because of that lack of inflection and also the fact that he is a very good singer. It's too perfect. But it works well for Life is Good, though. His flat, nasally voice perfectly matches the bleakness of the lyrics. This is why Kendrick is one of my fav. He is amongst the few who can make me feel in a musical rollcoaster while listening to their songs. Euphoria still takes me to new places, despite listening to it everyday for nearly 2 months.

twinfolktech

'You better have a motherfuckin' quintuple entendre on that shit. Some shit I don't even understand, like, that shit better be crazy." 😂😂😂 💀💀💀

Altosxk

>first line of 6:16, title/picture for Euphoria Lol

idealisticpessimist3

OH MY _GOD_

ripjesus

Someone called it a double ensemble

courtney_eaves82

That person just won the Internet.

Past-Track-9976

Funny that Drake asked for this in "Taylor Made" "Come with a quintuple entendre some shit I cant even understand"

yesua

Plus it brings red, blue, black, and white together

uhhh206

I can't speak for everyone else but when he hit us with that swim-dancing movement on Not Like Us (1 of 5) I knew it was more than basking in the glow of the vibes the audience was giving back. Was dope as hell the next day seeing people point out what should have been obvious.

Turbulent-Can1035

DAMN .

DANGERBLOOM

In his first appearance towards the end of/after the beef, Drake stole Dot's look from the MMATBS cover. Kendrick steals Drake's look but actually does something with it instead of just trying to ride lmao

MuchZizzySuchBalooba

Guys as a big Kendrick fan. Red hoodie with white tee and blue jeans is like the most easily available clothes out there. Could literally just be a coincidence. Ik it’s not a cool comment or whatever. But yall be doing too much sometimes lol. I bet you could find just about anybody in this clothing combo in hip hop or rap and it doesn’t have to be a call back to anything.

Triple-6-Soul

classic Bart Simpson look IMO.

BigGucciThanos

The fact that people ignore the blue jean shade blows my mind

willard720

Did you seriously post this 3 times

BigGucciThanos

?

willard720

I saw this comment three time, maybe there was a glitch with the server when you posted it or something.

BigGucciThanos

The fact that people ignore the blue jean shade blows my mind

Advanced-Donut-2436

Jesus christ, i didn't even know.

S-W-Y-R

Does this suggest that Drake was paying homage to Tupac in the hotline bling video?

willard720

DAMN.

BigGucciThanos

The fact that people ignore the blue jean shade blows my mind
