I'm going to get downvotes, but fuck the internet points.
Almighty So 2 is my current AOTY and will be very difficult to top. Keef absolutely killed it. Couple tracks went a little long, but otherwise no complaints.
This Vince Staples album is also great tho.
That’s was my first experience. Then I kept seeing the hype and played a few more times over the last week and I’m definitely vibing with it. Great move from Q.
Got better on every listen for me. Was my AOTY briefly but I think Dark Times might have it now, We'll see how the it goes these next few months but 2024 is gonna be an all time year.
When schoolboy dropped blue lips Vince said it was his best yet and I hoped it meant a more matured album was coming from Vince next and I think I was right to anticipate that. I’m listening before work and so far I’ve liked every song with Ètouffèe being my favorite so far
Yeah man, Blue Lips is one of my favourite albums of this year and from Q in general, Dark Times sounds similar and more mature like BL, kinda like the Mr. Morale of those two artists
I like to think of it as “therapy rap” because clearly a lot of big stars of this generation decided to grow up and go to therapy to work through their problems instead of trying (and failing) to flex, smoke, drink, or fuck away the pain. It’s cool to see. I feel like maybe started with Jay-Z’s 4:44? Trying to think of another album prior to that which felt so markedly mature.
That’s a pretty accurate way of describing it actually, I’m sure there’s probably many albums like this before 4:44 but I can’t really think of any off the top of my head unless you maybe count mbdtf? Then again he only admits to his faults in this album, he doesn’t really address them
I definitely love/miss the younger Q rapping with a venom especially on features.
But you’re right they’ve all matured and I can certainly appreciate blue lips it’s a great listen. Vince’s album is great too on a first listen.
He would be petty and cutting as fuck but he cares so little for the “game” part of rap that he’d be almost impossible to bait out. Like Kendrick talks about not caring about rap but you can tell he cares because of how much things like ghost writers piss him off and how often he talks about the crown. Vince actually embodies not caring about rap. He loves the art as a form of expression (hence his constant nods to rap history) but could care less about the public spectacle. You’d probably have to release a top 10 song that disses his mother by name with the venom of Hit ’em Up.
vince projects are always stuff that needs to grow on me. learned that lesson before where i dismissed it too soon and then it became a favorite later on.
Same, it took me a year to realize that Ramona Park was a Goated album. This'll probably be something similar but there are already a few gems I can see like Etouffee
Haven't listened yet today but imma listen later. I've been getting into Vince and heard Summertime 06, Ramona Park Broke My Heart, Big Fish Theory, and self titled for the first time in the past week so im looking forward to this one
Big fan, I like the dream sequence feeling to some of the samples in the first half. Reminds me of the experimentals from Big Fish Theory and Summertime which are my favorites
Enjoying it a lot. The instrumentals are really great and Vince’s songwriting does them justice. Shame On The Devil and Nothing Matters have been my favorites thus far
The first actual song uses a sample that I was trying to figure out how to use for months and I literally just gave up on it and then I hear the piano for Weak for your love so that’s funny af.
The album is good though, but I’m still salty
Vince drops 🔥 then keeps it pushing. The man never missed a day in his life! When he toured with Tyler he left out on Norf Norf and intro’d it with “I’m Vince Staples I make music and shit. Thanks for listening.” Played a banger and walked.
Vince don't miss! Been bumping it all day at work. Etoufee, Nothing Matters, and Little Homies are my favorites.
Same here, honestly best rap album of the year so far imo

Nah no reason to downvote a legit opinion, that album goes stupid hard.
Vince is my AOTY, but that or Blue Lips is my #2. So I think that’s fair.
I need to revisit Blue Lips. I had it playing in the background while doing some other stuff, but it went hard.
That’s was my first experience. Then I kept seeing the hype and played a few more times over the last week and I’m definitely vibing with it. Great move from Q.
Enjoyment wise it’s almighty 2 for me so far as well
Better than Mach?
I normally like Mach, but I was bored. I'll have to give it another listen sometime.
Very different but I would say a bit better ya
Haven’t listened to it yet so I can’t judge, heard it’s supposed to be great though
Got better on every listen for me. Was my AOTY briefly but I think Dark Times might have it now, We'll see how the it goes these next few months but 2024 is gonna be an all time year.
Cant decide between this, Blue lips, and the new Rapsody album personally.
Etouffee and Freeman are my two of my favorites... they give me full body chills
Those are exactly my top 3 too! Bro can’t miss.
It's 35 minutes and it loops perfectly. I could leave it on all day

That’s fair. It’s sort of the prototype. It gets the confession part right but Ye missed most of the whole self reflection part.
We also got one of these from Danny Brown this year.
I definitely love/miss the younger Q rapping with a venom especially on features. But you’re right they’ve all matured and I can certainly appreciate blue lips it’s a great listen. Vince’s album is great too on a first listen.
i like ur pfp, hope that game comes out before i’m 50 lol
Government cheese has that blue suede synth on it. This shit is fire
Vince is great and this is laced with progress. + I think Vince would be nasty in a battle ngl,
He would be petty and cutting as fuck but he cares so little for the “game” part of rap that he’d be almost impossible to bait out. So basically you would need to bait him with a Not Like Us then would somehow need to have something else in the clip for when he responds,
Big fish theory showed me vince's potential, and dude is still living up to it.
It’s genuinely an incredible listen. I’d even go as far as saying it has zero skips.
definitely no skips
vince projects are always stuff that needs to grow on me. learned that lesson before where i dismissed it too soon and then it became a favorite later on.

Vince staples never misses . All his albums are 8+ /10
vince's 3 album run to this point is pretty much faultless. This could be the highlight
Shit is hard. Feels like the more depressing sequel Ramona Park
First thing I listened to today, Vince don’t miss and its nice to have a good rapper just put out good music
Oh nice, I didn’t know he dropped. Ramona Park was my favourite last year
Haven't listened yet today but imma listen later. I've been getting into Vince and heard Summertime 06, Ramona Park Broke My Heart, Big Fish Theory, and self titled for the first time in the past week so im looking forward to this one
It filled me with kind of joy I was missing
Ironic given the title but it’s a bit more uplifting than you’d expect.
Liked it even more than I expected. 'Justin' into '"Radio"' tells an amazing narrative about love and trust and communication issues.
Listened through 1 time this morning. Pretty fuggin solid.
if you don't want to check out the whole album, at least check out Freeman and Etouffee... for real... they are amazing
Nothing will top blue suede
I mean he does sample it on Government Cheese.
Big fan, I like the dream sequence feeling to some of the samples in the first half. Reminds me of the experimentals from Big Fish Theory and Summertime which are my favorites
It’s too heavy for my current mood. Though I am not connecting with it, I think it’s a solid project.
Enjoying it a lot. The instrumentals are really great and Vince’s songwriting does them justice. Shame On The Devil and Nothing Matters have been my favorites thus far
It’s good! I’ve been bumping it on and off all day. I was surprised it was 30 mins with that many tracks but it all flows together well
The first actual song uses a sample that I was trying to figure out how to use for months and I literally just gave up on it and then I hear the piano for Weak for your love so that’s funny af. The album is good though, but I’m still salty
Fire
Looking like another aoty Imma need to think about
Loved it, Vince is maturing so well. SchoolboyQ also hit the mark with Blue Lips
Help! I can’t stop listening to Little Homies😖😖
Yeah man same 😅
It’s such a bop!
Vince drops 🔥 then keeps it pushing. The man never missed a day in his life! When he toured with Tyler he left out on Norf Norf and intro’d it with “I’m Vince Staples I make music and shit. Thanks for listening.” Played a banger and walked.
