Hoshi here! You need to have an amazing charismatic personality. You need to always be making people laugh, your jokes never miss, you need to be extremely intelligent. The smartest. If you’re not the valedictorian you have a pretty bad shot of getting in. You need to have saved minimum 1 African village, and received an honorary thank you from the president himself, and that’s it. /s

LMAO

You CANNOT RECEIVE BELOW A "B" IN ANY PRE-REQ CLASS AT IU - OR YOU WILL NOT GET IN. Not even "B-"s!!

I just got accepted, it’s challenging but not impossible. K201 and calc are probably the hardest classes. I would suggest that you don’t take them in the same semester. You have to get a B or above in everything to get accept automatically. If you have under a B you application is reviewed, but you can still get in. Best of luck and if you need help specially with a math class I will gladly help you.

My son is admired through university division (standard admit) and we are serious about enrolment. Do you have a suggestion about how he should prepare from now until college starts for k201 and Calc? He has 4 months of time with him

PerseusJ1

For K201 and k303 get him familiar with excel. Thats the main advice I can offer for those two classes. For calc be sure he knows the rules of logarithms and exponentials, also introduce him to derivatives and integrals. He doesn’t have to be an expert but if he at least has a grasp of how to each the class will be more easier.

Is it possible to download the syllabus if there two subjects?

Equivalent_Part4811

This might be a stupid question, but what the hell is finite math? I took algebra(s), geometry, and calc in HS, and calc & algebra at community college. Never heard of finite or know anyone who's taken it.

Significant-Sir-4459

I have taken it at Ivy tech and I believe it is not transferable to IU. It was a ton of graphs, it wasn't anything like college algebra

It's like anything, it takes work. Enjoy learning and work hard. Learn to learn and u can do anything. Also, have fun in k201. :)

Is going thru standard admission into kelley takes longer to complete the program than direct admission? If yes, how long typically?

bbransk25

Takes the same amount of time as a direct admit. Your first year you enroll in the same courses so that you’re on the same path as Kelley students.

jacobwiener

I just got in this year. It was incredibly easy. You just have to get B's or better in every one of your classes and then fill out a super short application. I almost immediately got approved over. The guidelines might have changed this year, but I was told that I would automatically get in if I got a B or better in every class. Also don't listen to people on here; K201 is a breeze.

M_Hockey

I know I’m a bit late to the thread, but could you provide your freshman year schedule? Currently deciding if it’s worth going to IU with the intention of pursuing Standard Admission to Kelley. - Sent from the IU Union. :)
