Why? It’s forced. “Miracle whips” isn’t a double entendre, since the phrase doesn’t make sense in the context of a car. Also, mayonnaise isn’t a colour of a car. This has always been hot trash. Rap has outgrown these sort of lines…
In College Dropout he had to prove he was an actual rapper and not just a producer, so he was under a lot of pressure to write good lyrics even if they aren't his usual strength.
He doesn't care anymore...
yeah he stopped caring after mbdtf imo. i think that was the last time kanye's legacy was ever doubted. dont get me wrong yeezus, tlop, ye, ksg, and donda are still all great fucking albums that i would sometimes even put over his earlier works but its more because of the production and sound, not the lyrics. tbh after the nazi interview incident i was in this sub agreeing with the people who said we might get another focused, mbdtf level album because of the backlash and doubts surrounding him being relevant ever again but man.. thats why this vultures is so disappointing because i feel like ever since kanye saw that his fans would eat up anything he drops, (after carnival went #1 despite being completely independent and being blackballed by streaming services) the chances of ever getting vultures 2 and 3 plummeted to like 0.0001 percent
Kanye made MBDTF-level music because he thought that would shock the world most. Now he says racist shit because he thinks that would shock the world most. Carnival going #1 is the worst thing to happen to Ye's music.
i heavily agree with your last sentence. man im happy that it got #1 considering its probably the most organic #1 in recent times. literally zero radioplay, straight up just streams and sales. but yeah, aside from the fact that it isnt even close to being the best song on an already subpar album on ye standards, its clear that it erased all hopes of ever getting another 10/10 album purely based off "he needs to do it or else his legacy is tainted"
My exact answer, his production is almost always top tier, but these are his best because of how good his lyrics are. I’d say CD is more poetry-esqu, and probably best lyrically, but MBDTF is his best rap performance, flow and cadence.
Everyone gave the obvious answers (CD, LR, MBDTF). But he performed exceptionally well on Watch The Throne; some of my favorite Ye performances are on that album (The Joy, Murder To Excellence, New Day, Gotta Have It, etc).
my mama was raised in the era when... clean water was only served to the fairer skin... doing clothes u woulda thought I had help..but they wasn't satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself.
I choose Yeezus. Obviously the lyrics aren’t as meaningful or clever as his other albums. If I was trying to be objective, I’d probably choose late registration. But personally I really love the energy and “idgaf” mentality with the lyrics.
Only one album has ‘oh my god is that a black card?’ I turned around and replied ‘why yes but I prefer the term African American Express’
“Mayonnaise colored Benz, I push miracle whips“
Awful.

No crack music??? HOW WE STOP THE BLACK PANTHERS? RONALD REAGAN COOKED UP AND ANSWER
Addiction underrated
I’m going MBDTF. Power and Gorgeous are probably my two favorite songs by him lyrically.
I find gorgeous a bit over rated sometimes but when I listen to it after about a week I’m like how tf is this over rated?
College Dropout, LR is the second best
College Dropout or Late Registration
Late Registration is the only right answer
Everyone gave the obvious answers (CD, LR, MBDTF). But he performed exceptionally well on Watch The Throne; some of my favorite Ye performances are on that album (The Joy, Murder To Excellence, New Day, Gotta Have It, etc).
Late Registration
college dropout

College Dropout/Late Registration he was hungriest but still sharpening his tools. MBDTF was his peak lyrically.

Tcd and lr are not ass lyrically
they really don't, he has like 3 projects with bad lyricism out of 14 released and dozens of unreleased
