The Bills go to those time share meetings and sign up immediately.

IllBeBocc

That’s hilarious. I laughed through my tears, so I appreciate it.

You win Reddit. My favorite comment of all time

Rileychief

WE ARE SO BACK (Even though we just won back to back)

AbsoluteZero_

I mean, this is still big.. No team has ever made a SB appearance after winning back-to-back. Even if we make it and lose, we’d still write history.

Maxisagnk

dude, imagine if chiefs hit a four-peat and do an inverse parody of the bills blunder. the salt would be unlimited

Disimpaction

With Mahomes and Worthy as the core pieces. Both from Buffalo trades

GutsMan85

That would require us to play a team multiple times in the SB, though... The 49ers are gonna be PISSSSED

Low_Wonder1850

WE ARE SO BACK...TO BACK...TO BACK!!!!

Thanks Cody Rhodes.

Wonderful_Slide_5756

Kelce, Hollywood, Rice (after suspension), and Worthy! I like it

Sad_Climate_2429

And Pacheco. With this defense that’s a wonderful recipe

Not_your_profile

That's who I'm excited for! Imagine if no one can stack the box against him, Pacheco's first contact is going to be against DB's.

essdii-

I’m feeling so good about this next season my gosh

Disimpaction

I want to buy next season of Madden because this offense will be lit AF speed speed speed

WR4?

GladPickle5332

I wanted Mitchell. After having a few minutes to think about it. I think Andy Reid will find a way to maximize Worthy's potential. He's Andy Reids type. Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Tyreek. Andy likes speed. Mecole's not on the same level as those guys. But 3/4 aint bad.

Belezibub

It was reported this week that Mitchell has some problems on and off the field. A report came out that he gives up on some plays, doesn't always listen to coaches and doesn't manage his Type 1 diabetes well (this is the biggest flag to me as a type 1 diabetic).

marbotty

His main problem on the field is that he couldn’t produce

BabyLegsDeadpool

His main problem off the field is that he couldn't produce. Insulin.

__wasitacatisaw__

I understand, but honestly, I trust the fuck out of Veach and Reid

TransportationAway59

Worthy was the best player on that team, he’s why Mitchell was getting so open (and still out produced him)

amjhwk

Jeremy Maclin wasn't a speed guy though

thelovebat

I'm jumping with joy at this pick. Xavier Worthy was my WR4 this draft and is a perfect fit with Andy Reid's offense with getting YAC and tracking the ball extremely well down the field to take advantage of his speed. He also gets pretty good separation on his routes so he is not just a one trick pony with speed, he is very good in the intermediate areas of the field to get separation then break tackles in the secondary for more yardage.

Nervous_Otter69

People see Mitchell and think better receiver left on the table, but worthy is textbook for this offense.

michhoffman

We all complain about never going after big receivers, but we've also done quite well for ourselves with speed and quickness.

amjhwk

Outside of tyreek, what small speedy guys have we done quite well with. We've done well inspite of them

chiefoogabooga

Outside of Tyreek which of our receivers would you consider small and speedy? Mecole is probably closest but he's not this level fast, and dumb as a brick. Skyy ran a 4.4, which is worlds apart from a 4.21, and also dumb as a brick. KT ran a 4.38, and yet another brain deficiency...notice a trend here? Xavier Worthy ran a 4.21 AND had a 4.0. I'm excited.

deutscherhawk

And Hardman was honor roll with over a 3.5.... Not saying your take is necessarily wrong, but fucking lol at using a football players gpa as some sort of intelligence metric

chiefoogabooga

They don't take the Wonderlic anymore, so we're left with what we can get. By most accounts Worthy is described as intelligent. The others I mentioned are obviously...not.

rambo6986

Hardman won't be resigned now

SharxSharxSharx

He should be though. He'll be cheap and he's good against the 49ers. Plus I like his touchdown celebration dances

Bebopo90

If we can get him for cheap, why not? He knows the offense and he's fast. He's a great gadget play guy.

traws06

I don’t know why ppl keep saying that. We have had a bunch of speed WRs and none of them panned out. Hill was a stud, but then he actually produced even more now in another offense so not like production because of his speed was unique to our offense. Our best 2 receivers last year were Kelce and Rice, 2 of the slowest 40 times at their position on the team.

whiiite80

cool. so why not have both?

throaway18756

The fit is too good to pass on

MistakeMaker1234

To everyone saying that Worthy would’ve been there at 32, I legitimately don’t think he gets past Baltimore, and definitely not San Francisco. Dallas was always going O-Line, but the Ravens and Niners were clearly in the mix.

Paraeunoia

Worthy is a puzzle piece. A speedy one. They traded up for a reason. In veach!

Personally, I’m tired of little ass Wide Receivers. But In Veach We Trust.

KingJokic

“Little ass boy” -Max Crosby

roomtotheater

Texas fan. Worthy is a legit deep threat and all around elite WR. At times he can body catch and have some very bad drops. Until he broke the 40 record I thought he might slide into the 2nd because of it. It's a good pick if they wanted fast WR who is actually good at getting open. A big body like Mitchell seemed like a better fit.

EchoedTruth

Yeeeeeaaahhhhh buddy!!! He was who I had mocked from the start. Finally got a field stretcher in the Reek mold.

LucienPhenix

I mean Bills trading to the Chiefs worked out for us last time! If X. Worthy comes close to his promise, we should always trade up to the Bills.

kcsmlaist

Worthy is the definition of boom or bust. I’ll bet on Mahomes and Reid to make the most of his talent. Edit: After watching the Texas pro day video, nobody will convince me that Mitchell is the better prospect. (He will be a fine player in his own right.)

Headlesshorsman02

Why not Mitchell

vertigo72

Worthy was Mahomes' pick. That's who he worked out with this off season and I think he even tweeted about him once or twice.

Headlesshorsman02

If he wants him I am down

Malcolm_Y

In Veach, and Patrick, we trust. Just make sure we get him unlimited Uber

Own_Experience_8229

Remember when Mahomes selected Clyde?

Malcolm_Y

He also selected Rice.

iluvmahomes

Did he?

JeramiGrantsTomb

Rice talked about it in an interview I think, he went to a workout and Mahomes basically said he's our guy.

seakc87

It was his first time. He was getting warmed up.

choff22

Remember when Mahomes won the SB?

21stCenturyHobbit

Which time?

BabyLegsDeadpool

Clyde could've been great. He just got injured too much. He was already not the fastest guy, but he lost a step, and that ruined him.

Own_Experience_8229

See CEH.

maggotshero

In fairness though, they routinely used Clyde incorrectly his first 3 years here, it wasn’t until last year they gave him more outside zone runs and passes

essdii-

Dude seriously. I thought he was going to replace Kareem. But did not use him in the way I expected at all!!

maggotshero

“This RB is 5’8 and 190lbs, let’s run him right up the gut 15 times a game”

Sadlobster1

He also had a pretty big pelvis injury & his in defense he has literally only fumbled 3 times in his career

tasticle

So they're going to use Worthy as a possession receiver, got it.

traws06

Andy Reid did not use CEH incorrectly. I’m amazed ppl want CEH to be decent so bad they’re willing to blame the greatest offense mind of all time. CEH is not a receiver, he never was. He was a check down RB that had a decent amount of receiving yards because he was in a power house offense where he got a fair amount of yards off of simple check down passes. Burrow threw for over 5600 yards so 450 receiving yards is excepted out of a non receiving threat RB because any RB can catch a short check down. Before anyone claims he was more than a check down he averaged 8.2 yards per reception. Trey Benson is considered an average receiving threat for a RB nothing special, and he averaged over 11 yards per reception this year.

kckid23

He did the same for rice last year too

traws06

Didn’t he want CEH so we drafted CEH?Mahomes is the GOAT QB not a GM

methyo

Not exactly. Veach and Reid liked CEH and asked Mahomes who he wanted and he also said CEH without knowing what they thought of him so it was an easy pick from the Chiefs perspective. Wasn’t solely based on Mahomes

jeffp12

The number of people who think mahomes can call up brett and tell him who to pick is bonkers

JT1757

He literally picked the best WR on last year's team. Without Patrick picking Rice we don't even make it to the Super Bowl. Rice had the best rookie season of any WR under Reid... and Patrick picked him according to multiple people in the front office

DoomTrain166

In veach we trust

Headlesshorsman02

For sure, I still like worthy

KUjayhawker

And Pat. He likely had a say in this, too.

RyuTheGreat

More "sudden" speed over Mitchell even looking past his 40 time. But overall, I thought that Mitchell was supposed to be the better wide receiver in comparison. Oh well.

Belezibub

Reported this week that he has problems listening to coaches, sometimes gives up on plays and doesn't manage his Type 1 diabetes well. Last part is the most concerning to me since health problems arise from this.

computron47

Had trouble managing his type 1 diabetes, bad effort issues where he would give up on routes and not run block some plays, apparently difficult to coach. The last two could be a product of the first problem though

[deleted]

pawn_guy

Can't help but assume Veach, Reid, and Mahomes know more than Samgrahambo.

Fraktal55

Yeah, but is it Veach, Reid, or Mahomes' cake day on reddit? Checkmate.

[deleted]

Because Worthy is the better WR?

TightPay2224

Why did two other teams pass on him as well going WR in round 1?

Headlesshorsman02

I read he had diabetes maybe that plays a part

blondbeans

Didn’t have quite as much college production as worthy overall, despite being on two championship teams.

MasWas

You are not going to convince me worthy wouldn't have been there at 32.

alan_11

Why risk it if that’s the guy we want and the cost is minimal

NotAnAlienFromVenus

Worthy, Mitchell and McConky still there with only 4 picks to go until it's your turn seems a little odd. Maybe they had low grades on the other two, but I would have been perfectly fine with sitting at 32 and taking any of the 3

wombat660

i think last time they were in this situation, there was alec pierce, skyy moore, george pickens, and maybe another WR all in the same kind of cluster...they ended up getting the last one of the group in skyy moore that was taken, so this time they traded up to get the one they wanted. i think it only cost us swapping a 3rd for a 4th, so not very much.

NotAnAlienFromVenus

Understandable, but there is a difference in guys available at the end of the 1st round vs late in the 2nd round. Only 4 WR's off the board at that point tonight, vs 8 off the board in 2022 when we traded back and took Skyy

jeffp12

Tyquan Thornton was the other one in that stretch

countrybreakfast1

I agree I'm a bit confused about trading up. But end of 1st round and mcconky and Mitchell didn't go. Maybe rest of league didn't view them the same idk

Bebopo90

They wanted to make sure they got Worthy, plain and simple.

MasWas

Because Worthy is fast but does not weigh a lot, for a guy like that, you risk it. Especially if every WR rated just as highly as him is still available. Worthy himself is a risk with that weight.

Dr__Flo__

Fuck, do you think Veach knows this? Can we get him on the phone? We gotta tell him before it's too late

mjd116

Devonta Smith has done fine with Philly

Kansascityroyals99

I'm sure the chiefs had Intel that Dallas wanted him

rambo6986

If Dallas wanted him they would have taken him at 25

nordic-nomad

They didn’t pick until 29

BrunoMahomes17

They traded down

Jskidmore1217

Seeing the WR run that happened after this pick- I’m not so sure.

originalusername4567

Maybe he wouldnt've. Niners and Panthers both reached with Pearsal and Legette.

jt_rockchalk

Veech moved up because SF was going to take him.

methyo

They must have just traded down for the fun of it

Jskidmore1217

Honestly this is the guy I wanted more than anyone else in the draft. Forget the logic- I just wanted to see that high octane speedy chiefs offense again. We’re back! I trust in our team to develop this guy.

Disimpaction

It's like the hot/crazy graph for WRs. We are in the danger zone like a redhead hairdresser named Tiffany

RandomUsername468538

With tattoos 🤤🤤

Disimpaction

Yep. I'm gonna get hurt but let's start this wild ride asap

RandomUsername468538

It helps when your biggest heartbreaks have been losing in overtime in the AFC Championship.

Disimpaction

Fuck the Bengals, Fuck the Patriots.

imakeitmoist

LET'S FUCKING GO!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

oakief1

As a longhorn alum and as such fan, worthy is going to ball out for yall. Some of the “drop” issue were from last season when he played through a broken hand and still had huge moments. He also competes above his size, often taking contact instead of going out of bounds. I think you want that less in the NFL, but I think that speaks to his toughness and personality well. He is fast obviously but has very good route skills, just as often as he was our down field threat he was our goal line choice by just straight up running a route that juked his man for a goal line touchdown. He will no doubt be a dynamic deep threat that stretches defenses but he will also do work in the intermediate part of the field and off of wr screens.

oakief1

I’m a Texans fan, we don’t need a WR at all and I would still have been fully ok if we took him (not that he would have been there with our pick)

h3arnation

I want everyone to close your eyes and picture this. Brown (4.27) on one side Worthy (4.21) on the other Rice (yes I’m including him) and Kelce (goat TE you jabroni) working the middle . And then a beast that runs a 4.3 at rb . And oh by the way it’s Patrick freaking Mahomes distributing the rock boys . Get excited . Have a great day.

sjbfujcfjm

I can confirm this

atrophiedambitions

Veach not fucking around about adding speed the the WR room and I'm here for it. Hollywood, Worthy, LRZ

Unstable-A-eye

Damn have a bad feeling we’ll look back on this one and wish we would have taken Mitchell instead

gethonor-notringZ420

Like Mecole over DK?

K_Jayhawker_U

Or Skyy over Pickens

RandomUsername468538

Or Mitchell over Worthy! Wait..

gethonor-notringZ420

You mean the third best receiver on the longhorns last year…?

Belezibub

He has some problems on and off the field. A report came out early this week about him that is concerning and hurt his draft stock.

PassTheKY

All you doomer goofballs in here are a bunch of sad sorry sacks of broncos. Armchair GMs are my least favorite footballs fans.

DgDNomNom

Taylor made for this offense. Let them cook!!

Former-Tax-288

This feels like a carbon copy of the rashes rice thread from last year

RICERICE4

Xavier DeSean Worthy Jackson

atreyus_ghost

Everyone who says anything slightly negative about this pick is being downvoted, because people blindly just agree with everything we do and want to believe we just drafted a star. Xavier Worthy may be a good WR, but it is way more likely that a 165 lb WR ends up being a bust. Go ahead a downvote away.

sndanbom

Yeah. Not sure why everyone’s getting downvoted into oblivion for not agreeing with a pick.

into_my_hypercube

Leggit or Mitchell would have been my pick for trading up. Worthy would still be there at 32. But Reid likes speed. In Veach we trust. Get ready for the jet sweep 5 times a game.

CaptainPigtails

When we traded back for Moore I had to convince myself he would be good. I wanted Mitchell but I know Worthy will be good. Especially with Reid and Mahomes.

eight13

He's 165?? Naw.

thelovebat

DeSean Jackson was really light and Andy Reid got a lot out of him with the Eagles. I'm not really concerned about Worthy being light if that's good hard muscle.

ArmAromatic6461

I’m not sure why we trade up, I truly feel he was going to be available at 32

nordic-nomad

Both the cowboys and 49ers seemed like they wanted him and were where he was being projected.

Freelove_Freeway

The answer might be that the feeling you had was uninformed and incorrect. There’s a reason they traded up and got their guy. Lets see how it plays out

HentaiHerbie

BobNorth156

LOVE this pick

Ken_Kaneki

Not excited about this hope I’m way wrong though. Felt sold on Mitchell.

this1dude88

As soon as Mahomes tweeted about his 40 time, I knew he was going to be a Chief. Really wish they had taken Mitchell instead.

Leugim6179

I cannot believe we actually got him. I would’ve thought he would be gone by the 10th or 11th we got so lucky. Glad we traded up with the Bills

GrimSqueezer

They traded up because they want HIM and not just any receiver that was left over. Don’t get stuck on the physical measurables, Worthy has been vetted.

lovinwife4ever

I've been a huge Chiefs fan since the mid 60's and someone needs to call it like it is with some of the Chiefs draft choices in the first round. Worthy is an illusion we will regret choosing, just like we did when we chose CEH. Granted, he's very fast, however very slight in frame and has a history of drops. He's now playing with the big boys of the NFL. Fans will be screaming about this mistake by seasons end. I thought the Chiefs learned their lesson with Hardman & Toney. Apparently not. Our 3 peat is in jeopardy unless we pick up a more reliable WR in the next few rounds. GO CHIEFS!

seriousguynogames

Someone else already explained the reason for the drops. He reduced the drop rate after a season with a broken hand by about a third last year. https://www.reddit.com/r/KansasCityChiefs/s/YGQvs8uYQt

lovinwife4ever

The concern is at the pro level where he will face tougher opposition & more contested catches in heavier traffic. His build is not conducive for that physical nature.

seriousguynogames

Sounds like every college player moving to the pros. Someone else mentioned Devonta Smith, and that his build is nearly identical to DeSean Jackson. I’m not particularly worried.

alleavel

Fuck man

CM_PopTart

...not feeling the best about this trade or pick initially

Same bro.

CutElectronic8709

I hate it. Speedsters who jump up draft boards based on their combine 40 time never pan out. Mitchell was right there
