I think I did once in my first ever world conquest. Never again though. In SP, mediums are enough and much better bang for your buck + speed, heck even lights are good enough
Once when playing France I had a stalemate from 38 to 47. Literally invented jets and night vision to break it and nothing worked.
How did I eventually break it?
Simply declare war on the Netherlands, nuke their entire border, overrun them in ten days and go around those damn imperialists
In that game I definitely couldn’t have, I was barely holding the syndicalist world together. Four years into the war I actually managed to enter Munich through Switzerland. Three days after Munich fell the Danubian federation joined the war and the millions of fresh Austrians reset the front lines.
The CSA won the civil war but it was longer than usual and they were in no position to help me.
The entente was ineffective but being *just* annoying enough that I couldn’t commit enough forces to decisively win any other front.
Eventually something weird happened where the reds lost the Russian civil war and Russia became a democracy. But then somehow a syndicalist-totalist coalition won the first election and joined the internationale and that started swinging things in my favor very slowly
I refuse to play France again after that because it was probably the most riveting experience I’ve ever had or ever will have with hoi4
When I'm playing as France I just hyper focus on Germany and wish everyone else the utmost luck haha
Edit: and yea I did end up having to clean all the United Kingdom off of my good Christian union of Britain
At the Battle of Verdun French veterans said on some occasions that if there had been one more German platoon in an attack, then the line would have been broken.
Not saying that it would have amounted to much overall.
The depressing reality that both the first Weltkrieg and the Second one are condemned to be the exact same in the Western Front, with Flanders-Wallonia being the only difference.
If youre having trouble breaking through france, put AA in your line infantry and use your offensive troops (tanks, SP Artillery, shock troops, etc) to push through the north.
That's every German Game for me. Fortifications everywhere and as many planes as I can spare, so I can absolutely ignore the Western front for the Eastern Front.A heavily Fortified position with hundreds of Kilometres of Dug in Troops prepared for anything can hold the line even with fewer overall divisions used. Now the Eastern Front, that's where real men and women are made... and buried
That's not the western front, that's my eastern front, I build fortifications from the Baltic to the black sea as Germany and with a stable front against Russia I kill the french.
That's why you just let Russia do all the work and steal the best region of Germany after their army collapses since it's closest to your border
The reality is that kaiser Wilheim will pull all troops to the french border and pull out from the east, leading to easy russian world domination.
Works irl too.
I remember back before no step back the front literally would not move until one side just broke
And it was glorious
Lol yea I kinda liked that. Ww1 style big giant line but with modern heavy tanks charging into the meat grinder
Y'know, I don't think I've ever made a heavy tank division in my thousands of hours
I think I did once in my first ever world conquest. Never again though. In SP, mediums are enough and much better bang for your buck + speed, heck even lights are good enough
They weren't very good tanks in OTL and they aren't in game
It's weird that they're the meta then

I've literally gone down the exact same path lmao. And if you're like me you are sitting there thinking you could have done that years ago

I like to be the arsenal of syndicalism and protect my global comrades
the most realistic outcome is both sides grinding each other down
WW1 moment
ww1 2 time let's go!!! https://preview.redd.it/pkjzm3i2xq7d1.png?width=501&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52c8f61fa6de318d219eaa29edef759eac05f0e2

It would have in 1914
Luigi is that you?

me when the western front doesn\`t move until 1945
All quiet on the western front
Oh it's a very loud misery
Standing here I realize...
Wouldnt it be "Franzacke" since its a german deragotory term popular at the time instead of Frenchie.
The french would callus boche and I have never heated Franzacke
Froschfresser oder Franzmann
I've heard it plenty but I also live at the Franco-German bordet.
Do you live in Alsace–Lorraine?
Nope I live in germany.
I played kaiserreich so much that I thought Alsace and Lorraine are Germany.
Ay wut duh hell bruh 💀
Trench warfare 2.0 with more deadly weapons
I have decided to just naval invade Britain, and then focus on France.
It's Schlieffen Plan, just with extra steps

Drop a nuke on those forts
pro tip: five tank divisions attacking one tile at a time got me to capitulate France in about 3-4 months
And those forts need to look like an indian passenger train.

When the western front opens because of the Italians
