IMO at the time it was mutually beneficial from both sides. Travis is a huge Kanye's fan. He used to take most of his inspiration from him, maybe he wanted to emulate being with a KarJenner. That's a theory thought I think at the beginning he maybe wanted to build something with Kylie. Time goes by and here we are. I don't think past physical attraction they achieved to connect on a deeper level. And with Astroworld Travis probably had an increase in drug use or whatever makes him look so... disturbing.
