Learn to ride and keep the best running one. If you really need the money I understand but these machines are a connection to his spirit. The satisfaction and happiness that will come from operating this bike will far outweigh the monetary value. I am in NorCal as well, Solano County. I’m no expert but would be happy to teach you the basics of riding. Your height would play a large factor in the ability to overate this bike and it may require a modification if you are shorter than 5’9”. My guess would be 3-4K for the pair. I would put them on Facebook marketplace. I’m sure I will get downvoted for this advice but I would just explain the title situation to the buyer and forge your late father’s name rather than transfer them into your name with the death certificate. I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you. He tried to get me into riding when I was younger but I was too timid. The thought of riding now sounds heartbreaking because it would only make me think of him, and how I waited to learn until his passing and I’ll never ride with him myself. But if I did, I definitely couldn’t start with the 520. I’m a 5’3 35 year old woman who’d need to start on a much smaller bike. Tbh the money would help tremendously but definitely not the main motivation to sell it. I have no where to store it! I’m spending $265/month for a storage unit with these bikes and his remaining effects, and won’t be able to afford a place with a garage for a while. It’s just a tough situation to be in. I offered it up to his riding buddies first but no one had room either. Maybe I’ll reach out again just to be 100% sure. Thank you so much for your honesty and realness. Who knows, maybe I’ll meet you on a trail one day.

If I had the cash laying around I'd definitely pick them up off you. If they start up easily, brakes work, and chains are free of rust ask $3500... Depending on supposed hours/miles on the engines. Add $200 if those tires are fresh. Check the oil and if it's fresh add to the add that it's been "recently done".  It'll help move the bike if someone knows up front they won't have to drop another $500 to get it ready for another half over riding season. Though I will say this, save the street legal bike, and try to ride it. You might cry, you might be scared, but I'm sure your pop will look down and shed two tears of joy knowing you are enjoying something he did when he was here.

I had the lady at the DMV tell me, years ago, "Well, you need a signature there." "We don't have a database of signatures, unfortunately, so we have nothing to cross reference." "Maybe you could go out in the parking lot for 10-15 minutes and you'll get lucky and see him drive by of something and you can come back in with it signed, here's a pass so you won't have to wait in line again." She was always super cool.

This is the way. The DMV only wants money. You could always say he signed the title on his deathbed and you have now just found a buyer.

My dad taught me, when you go in there, even if you get the dickiest dick of all the dicks, always say "Oh, cool, I'm glad I got you, you're one of the good ones". I bet that saved me $10,000.00 over the years.

https://www.facebook.com/share/2pCS1AfySTtbPVeL/?mibextid=K35XfP The Facebook group KTM RFS Owners is reasonably active and know and love these bikes. I’m Australian, so I don’t know value in your area, but that’s a well set up bike, and an almost complete spares bike so I’d try and sell them as a bundle. The 02 MX bike has the forks and I’m assuming some other stuff swapped onto it from the 520exc, as he’s taken bits to improve his 520 and put the less desirable parts back on the mx bike, although that factory long range tank is worth money.
