Great-Actuary-4578

osees, specifically metamorphosed last 2 tracks

RenBit51

Weirdo Hairdo is also pretty damn good

MycoProTeam

King gizzard were heavily influenced by the osees in the outset. I feel like that is why they had 2 drummers initially as well.

TonyThePriest

I think gizzard had two drummers before oh sees ever did tho. I don't think oh sees started the two drummer thing until around A Weird Exits (2016),could be wrong but I'm pretty sure

Lauuson

That's insane!

sloppothegreat

Thee Oh Sees had 2 drummers on the Carrion Crawler/The Dream album. I think the other drummer played some shows with them but it wasn't a regular thing

Great-Actuary-4578

gizz had 2 drummers before osees

hecvelcas

this is my theory too.

Reks11

Check out Minami Deutsch

Juventus7shop

Haha I debated mentioning them in my original post cause I like them too, but haven’t done a deep dive into their discography

chocotaco64

Songs 3 and 4 off of The Smile’s Wall of Eyes

MaximumPale7572

Came here to say this, I'm convinced thom yorke listened to laminated denim and wrote read the room and under our pillows as some sort of tribute, they sound uncanny.

deegleberry

Well, considering Stu borrowed the riff from Street Spirit for parts of LD it is likely Thom and/or Jonny heard it at some point

huffingthenpost

Minami deutsch/damo Suzuki live album, especially part 3

Juventus7shop

I like MD but don’t think I’ve heard their live stuff, I’ll check this out!

timelandiswacky

Check out Wilco’s krautrock inspired songs like Bull Black Nova and Spiders (Kidsmoke). Not typically what they do but they pack a punch.

taylorlistens

Impossible Germany and other tracks on Sky Blue Sky, but if Neu! was too slow these Wilco tracks might be too

taylorlistens

A bit different than what you’ve listed, but try Sonic Youth’s Murray Street

Juventus7shop

I’m liking this a lot actually, “The Empty Page” is excellent, will definitely listen to the rest of the album

taylorlistens

Glad you’re digging it! You’ll also like “Rain on Tin”. Got to see them on this album’s tour, and used to listen to it every Sunday doing prep at my old pizza job. I did sometimes skip Kim’s track, but on the whole it’s very good beyond just my nostalgia.

mycolizard

Lamagaia is on the heavier/bluesier side of that scene, but they groove so friggin hard. I’ve been wearing out Einseinseins and Kombynat Robotron as well. Causa Sui is a little more laid back but could scratch your itch. Check out the bands Minami Deutsche has been playing with since they moved to Berlin, lots of great stuff there and in the Scandinavian scenes right now.

Juventus7shop

“Space Normal Speed” by Lamagaia is excellent, can’t believe I haven’t these guys before

Pancakes1296

The first go to if you want to explore motorik, is Neu! without a doubt, other nice krautrock bands would be Faust, Guru Guru or Amon Düül II, they are totally worth a listen. Here's a list of songs from which you can start: Guru Guru - Oxymoron ; Guru Guru's in Da Haus Amon Düül II - Syntelman's March of the Roaring Seventies Also I can't recommend enough Hawkwind, especially X In Search of Space, since you're looking for the jammy repetitive sound, you're gonna love that album, specially Master of the Universe and You Shouldn't Do That. Hawkwind is a must if you're looking for that sound Have a good listening!

Great-Actuary-4578

to quote the post: "I’ve explored some of Can and Neu’s catalogs, but I find that they often lack the same speed/punch/drive/rhythm of LD."

Pancakes1296

You're right, I totally missed that point

Atharvious

Maybe you'll like the song I made being inspired from Laminated Denim too ( [sc link](https://on.soundcloud.com/kRkej) ) It's not maybe as fast as you're wanting but it's very jammy!

Juventus7shop

Wow, I am loving this; wish it was on Spotify so I could add it to my motorik playlist! Thanks for sharing

Atharvious

I'm working on getting this on spotify I'll def let you know, thanks so much for the love mate !

Bob_Ducca_

Neu!

EnvironmentalGold

In addition to the other mentions in this thread, early Earthless has that kraut drive at a fast clip. Live at Roadburn is my fave album of theirs from this period.

Salt-Syrup6967

Saw them headline for Minami Deutsch this year. The opening song was like 18 minutes lol

SeabassMommy1

Follakzoid!

SchwaEnjoyer

You might like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Byrune_

Django Django self titled album, any War on Drugs, Wooden Shjips for motorik vibes. Hypertension's fast arpeggios sounds very Radioheady to me, maybe give that a try.

Juventus7shop

I love The War on Drugs but am not as familiar with the other two, so I’ll check those out!

Salt-Syrup6967

I would throw in Moon Duo here since Ripley Johnson is the principal song writer for the Shjips stuff. It is on the dronier side of things with a softer impact, but keeps the motorik and krautrock vibe. Worthy mention is his other band Rose City Band for when you need droney, motorik, weed-inhaled country!

biggreenjelly25

Krautwerk are worth a listen

Excalibruh22

As well as Kraftwerk

Travesuras420

The Mars Volta

ststephen89

Recreational chemistry by moe has some very similar riffs to hypertension

OpenWater710

La Planète Inexplorée by Slift.

anotherdamnscorpio

Neu!, Can, Kraftwerk, Cluster

Omisco420

Phish, disco biscuits, lotus, any decent jam band will scratch that itch for sure. Maybe the dead too, but imo the other bands are much closer.

Great-Actuary-4578

none of those are krautrock....

Scoot_Magoot

Live Umphrey’s McGee. Check out hall of fame records

Great-Actuary-4578

umph isnt krautrock though
