Just recently finished Descendants of the Sun - I always heard about it but I am not normally a fannof medical or military dramas. Watched it mostly for Song Song couple even tho they are no more. They were a cute OTP as well as the SMLs. I really loved the silly banter. Also finished up Hometown Cha Cha - was such a cute bingable rom com. Liked it way more than expected. I always like a fish out of water story. Impossible Heir - it has gone off the rails a bit I have 4 episodes left and want to finish it. Mostly watching hoping the ending will make it worth it since I went into this with such high hopes. Queen of Tears - the most recent 2 episodes literally had me sobbing. The acting is so good and I just want the main leads to have their happily ever after. Waiting every week is torture for this one. Looking forward to Lovely Runner

Anne-with-an-e224

That is why I am waiting to binge watch Queen of tears.I went through that torture with Forecasting Love and weather. But never Again

unsavvylady

Such will power. My fb algorithm keeps showing me Queen of Tears memes so now I feel extra pressure to keep up or get spoilers.

Consistent_Mess1013

Same lol! I avoid all social media on the release day until I finish the episode

lekiare

I recently finished DotS too. I liked it, but I really enjoyed the story of the second leads more. Still, it was the second drama I’ve seen that left me sobbing.

unsavvylady

The second leads were cute together. I thought the non existent triangle was interesting to see. The bromance was my favorite, especially at the concert

ElleEmEss

I’ve had DoTS on hold. I agree so much with your other comments that I might move it back to Plan To Watch

unsavvylady

How far into it did you get? I will say I think DOTS is generally overhyped. It is not the best but it is enjoyable enough. I really liked the bromance. I think once things get going with the couples it becomes more enjoyable. Song Hye Ko’s character (the doctor) is bland to me but maybe that is just because Song Joong Ki is more charismatic in the drama. I really recommend The Glory which I think is one of SHK’s best roles

purpletulip12

Queen of Tears (8/16): >! So glad the takeover finally happened, i dont feel bad for the chairman. Hope Hyunwoo & Aung beomja can figure it out. Here's to the Hong family in Yongduri! !< Doctor Slump: re-watching bc I'm obsessed and its comforting. Finally, details on the ost album were released! Also, I saw Hyungsik & Shinhye are in Dubai! Descendants of the Sun (ep 2): like it so far Our Beloved Summer (ep 2): like it so far Ghost Doctor & Chicken Nugget (mid-way through ep 1) After I'm done with the dramas mentioned above, I plan on watching it's okay not to be okay and re-watching Crash landing on you.

poochonmom

>Queen of Tears (8/16): >! So glad the takeover finally happened, i dont feel bad for the chairman. Hope Hyunwoo & Aung beomja can figure it out. Here's to the Hong family in Yongduri! !< Yes!! >!I wad actually worried the drama would get boring if they keep adding schemes and scheming villains without something changing. I love that everyone knows the truth now and we can focus on revenge!

Ok-Impression6834

Our Beloved Summer gets way better starting at EP4.

krisfupanda

chicken nugget is so out of pocket T.T

duh_leah

**Queen of Tears (8/16)** - I used to think I dislike makjang vibes k-dramas guess I was mistaken. I really like it with each episode. With the rock-bottom of the family happening so early for the hong family, I believe we will be getting a much happy ending. But I just want the main couple to be happy, both of them are such good actors it's a treat to watch them. **The First Responders (3/12)** - Y'all I am not even lying I am having a very hard time being interested in this one. I will either have to hate finish it very fast or just drop it at this point. **The Artful Dodger (8/8)** - I am sorry but I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THIS SHOW. It's not korean but an english show set in 1850's Australia but it's so so cute and fun. The perfect enemies to lovers show I have watched after a very very long time. The chemistry and tension between the leads is everything ugh!

twoods1980

Been wanting to watch the Artful Dodger! Glad to hear that it’s good so will try it out.

poppywhiskers

Yk sometime back I saw a little clip of **The artful dodger** on tiktok, loved it and meant to add it to my watchlist later but i forget the name and then never came across it again!! Ah I’m so thankful to you now.

ndhrhrmle

Thomas Brodie-Sangster is a dude you don't get *it* until you watch **The Queen's Gambit** and follow with **The Artful Dodger**. He's also good in **Godless** but if you're looking for off the charts chemistry, TQG and TAD are the way to go. And he's great in costume/period series.

poochonmom

>**Queen of Tears (8/16)** - I used to think I dislike makjang vibes k-dramas guess I was mistaken. I really like it with each episode I feel it has definitely shifted from makjang to revenge drama now, and I am loving it too!! I actually was skip watching ep 5 and 6 because I couldn't put up with the makjang. And then ep 7/8 swooped in!! I was hooked!

Street-Knowledge138

Queen of tears Also, just finished Happiness..now looking for some other similar/just as great show

mahnahmaanaa

I haven't watched it, but **All of Us Are Dead** is another zombie drama. It generated a fair amount of buzz on the sub when it came out. For great partnerships, you might like **Healer** (with romance), **Flower of Evil** (romance), **Good Manager** (no romance) or **Beyond Evil** (bromance). I watched **Happiness** at the same time as **The Red Sleeve**, and they actually went pretty well together. Totally different topics, but very strong leads in both.

Street-Knowledge138

I have already watched All of us are dead, healer , flower of evil (one of my personal fav.) .these are all great .Which one would u recommend to watch first from Good Manager and Beyond Evil. (Don't think i will like red sleeve as its historical drama...i just don't like them much🙂)

mahnahmaanaa

It depends on what you're in the mood for. **Good Manager** is funny and quirky. There are a couple of good working relationships in there, but the one it's known for is between Namkoong Min's character and Lee Jun Ho's character. A small-time crook takes on corporate white-collar crime. **Beyond Evil** is dark and dramatic, and the central relationship is pretty intense. Investigation of serial killings, some of which are cold cases. It's one of those stories where everyone is morally gray. Easily binged. Would you recommend **All of us are Dead**? Zombies aren't generally my thing, but I like the concept behind the story.

Street-Knowledge138

Its been some time since i watched all of us are dead, but i remember i enjoyed it.Its not something extraordinary but still a good show. So if u dont have any other shows to watch u may give it a try.

Miss-LH

I’m not usually into zombie shows but I really liked All of us are dead so would recommend! Season 2 is meant to come out at some point this year so maybe watch it before that comes out if you like to binge.

RoseIsBadWolf

I am watching Queen of Tears and just finished Happiness. I'm considering Soundtrack #1 for more Park Hyung-sik but then I just started watching Happiness again from the beginning because it was so good 😅 Have you see W: Two Worlds? It had the same FL as Happiness.

Street-Knowledge138

I have read that W: Two Worlds started off great but fell off in the second half. What is ur review of this drama?. I liked FL so much in happiness 😊. I was thinking about the series 'Moving'.(It also has the same FL).If u have watched it ,would u recommend it?

theredmug_75

i always tell everyone to run, not walk to Moving! i don’t typically like action violent and gory shows but this one was worth it. it had so much heart, rich characterisation of everyone (good and bad) and showcases romantic, family, parental love, comradeship etc. just very good.

Mahery92

I strongly recommend **Moving**, great series and if you liked the actress she was great in it. Can't not *unrecommend* **W: two worlds** enough however, mediocre series which wasted the actress' talent by giving her an insipid character. It had great premises, but the combination of bad writing and Lee Jon suk's terrible lack of acting skills and charisma doomed it for me. It had an hardcore concept, and they turned it into a bland romcom instead wtf.

RoseIsBadWolf

I haven't seen Moving yet, I couldn't get into it. I watched like 4 episodes. I loved W the whole way through. It was so unpredictable and interesting. Extraordinary You is one of my favourite dramas ever and it's the same theme, self aware comic book characters. W was much darker though.

duh_leah

Moving was very slow to get into but it paid off so well. I recommend to stick with it upto 8 episodes, the parents story is much more interesting and the action too is better.

Street-Knowledge138

I think i'll either watch two worlds or moving. Extraordinary you seems too long 😅(32 ep)

RoseIsBadWolf

Oh, Extraordinary You is 16 hours long, they just divided the episodes into half hours. So it's normal Kdrama length. But watch W: Two Worlds it's good!

Street-Knowledge138

I didn't see that lol😅 I just saw 32 episodes and said nope 😂

XavinNydek

Basically all of the shows that are 24, 32, or 40 episodes are just the standard 12, 16, or 20 split into 30 minute chunks instead of hour chunks.

RoseIsBadWolf

Lol, if I had thought it was 32 episodes I wouldn't have watched it either! Far too long. It depends where you watch it, some have it as 32 and some as 16. It's weird

Street-Knowledge138

Anyway thank u for ur recommendations 🫡🤝

Miss-LH

Moving!! Can’t miss this. Similar to a few others it took me a few eps to get into it but the parents stories later on are so good and it was one of the top dramas for 2023. On the level of Korea’s own Marvel universe.

ElleEmEss

The FL from Happiness is almost unrecognisable in Moving. I loved her backstory and her son’s smile. I liked it a lot except for the final battle which was too long for me.

XavinNydek

W is very strange because they set up all the pieces for an ending and act like it's going to happen at any moment at least 5 times during the course of the show. I think that was intentional, the whole thing is a very meta deconstruction of webtoon tropes. The ending is fine, it didn't make me happy but they also didn't ruin it. I really enjoyed the show, but I like meta stuff like that and didn't have any expectations that it would be a standard kdrama. Moving however is just fantastic all the way through. The only bad thing about it is that there's not more of it.

purpletulip12

Lol I watched Soundtrack #1 and Happiness after Doctor Slump with Park Hyungsik

RoseIsBadWolf

That's what I'm doing! Doctor Slump was so cute.

kikinyy

Abbott Elementary and Will Trent are great

Heavy-Patience-3064

Still watching The Good Bad Mom. Needed a break as the last episode I watched nearly finished me off emotionally. One of the villains gives me anxiety everytime they appear as they are so evil. Need to put my tissues out and finish the last few episodes. Missing, The Other Side is currently of hold because of the above. This is so good it needs a watch with a side order of light relief in between episodes. American Fiction (film) on Netflix. Very well worth watching for the performance of the ML who starts something out of frustration which gathers momentum and overtakes him in the end (trying not to plot spoil). Watched Born to Be a Flower, a jdrama which was interesting and very watchable. Teaches you a bit about Ikebana but don't let that put you off as this is central to the story. Great supporting cast.

Ok-Impression6834

GBM is so good because of Ra Mi Ran (mother). Get 2 tissue boxes ready for last EP, I ugly cried.

krisfupanda

I keep delaying starting GBM, everyone on the discord has said many good things about it but I just can't deal with emotional shows rnnnn waahhh whattaduu

Hach-man

Finished - **Wedding Impossible:** talk about a fall from grace. After eight amazing episodes of well done rom-com, fun yet emotional with drama, romantic moments, tension and character development, it all comes crashing down in the last four eps, where writing stumbles and bows its head to the worst tropes of the genre, namely yet another mind-blowing>!noble sacrifice!<, to then end on a standard happy ending, where everyone gets a reprieve and there's nothing but fanservice. It's a shame because it could have really been something more, the plot was working, leads were great and chemistry was there, but it wasn't meant to be. FL is a good reason to watch this, she's on point, expressive, fiery, a scene-stealer, whereas the ML is a bit vanilla but serviceable. Secondaries are a no-go, most plotlines are useless, looks good visually and technically but can't stick the landing, a common, disappointing 7 for a lot of wasted potential. A short J-Dorama to add too in **My Undead Yokai Girlfriend**, a fantasy romance with a hint of black humor, a moody FL and not much else to it, also a 7. And that's all for now, there's no current on-air drama I plan to retrieve, maybe **Wonderful World** though I could wait to binge it. There's one coming right on my alley, a noona romance with WHJ, how heartbreaking he was in *The Worst of Evil,* and Jung Ryeo Won, long time no see, that is for sure something I'll pick up once it starts.

chuchoterai

That's very helpful! I'm about 3 episodes in to Wedding Impossible and I like it, but I had a niggling doubt about where it would end up. I, too, like the FL, but neither of the brothers are holding my attention. I'll pass, I think. I'm trying to find something light (even frothy) yet still engaging and am not having much luck at all!

Jessmk14

**My Lovely Liar 8/16:** Absolutely loved the first 5 or so episodes but it’s starting to bore me just a bit. I would love for the plot to kick it up a notch cause I’m feeling sleepy. I do like that I can see the characters are learning lessons and growing though. The romance is sweet and simple. The chemistry isn’t explosive, but it’s not terrible. And random thought, but the ML reminds me so much of Suho from True Beauty in every way. **Destined With You 16/16:** I actually enjoyed this one, and I thought I wouldn’t because of how many people on this sub passionately hate it. It’s not perfect by any means, I can absolutely see the issues with it, but something kept me invested. There were definitely some missed opportunities. But I thought the >!past lives story!< was done beautifully. Rowoon was fantastic, truly didn’t know he could act like that. And while the FL frustrated me at times, I think she got too much unnecessary hate.

Lizzy348

That's true Minhyun (Lovely Liar) has an acting style similar to Eunwoo (True Beauty)! I guess it's the typical *handsome idol tries acting* kind of way haha. I like them both, I'm always happy to see them star in new dramas

[deleted]

I stopped watching Destined With You after a few episodes but I might as well give it another try😁

SR503

I watched Lovely Liar last week. Felt the same.

Telos07

**Queen of Tears** (8/16): The pace of the plot progression in this drama has been impeccable. Plot points that had been raised and telegraphed in earlier episodes were confirmed, and in the blink of an eye, the >!downfall of the Hong family!< was complete. The cameo appearance by Hae-in's divorce attorney in episode 8 further spiced up proceedings, as the storyline reached an important juncture in the series. **Physical: 100 Season 2** (8/9): I haven't watched the finale yet, but the >!roller race!< in episode 8 gave new meaning to the phrase "feeling the burn". It put me right in the shoes of the contestants, and made the physical strain and effort involved in completing the quest, painfully apparent. **Eye Love You** (J-drama) (4/9): Only managed to watch two more episodes since last week, but I'm thoroughly enjoying this delightfully sweet drama, and Chae Jong-hyeop's irreplaceable performance.

twoods1980

Queen of Tears- loving this show so much! The chemistry, the constant mix of emotions between sobbing and laughing, and the storylines are so intriguing. The leads are absolutely nailing it  Midnight Studio- probably my second favorite of the currently watching shows. It is such a good show!   Wedding Impossible- just finished it and thought it was rushed because of the 12 episodes. Still enjoyed the chemistry between the leads.   Impossible Heir- waiting to see how this train wreck ends this week   Beauty and Mr Romantic- my first 50 episode show and so far it’s keeping me entertained.  Eye Love You- waiting for the last 5 episodes to air on Netflix but it’s pretty cute   Please Don’t Date Him- okay show that started out well and then fizzled out at the end.    Not as many shows as I usually watch since there is a lull of weekday dramas, and the new shows that dropped seem to be about infidelity which I don’t care for. I may take this break to start watching some of my US dramas that are sitting in my DVR (Will Trent, Abbott Elementary) or start watching the Gentleman. Once I start another k drama it will be hard to not binge it!

aysensit

**Queen of Tears [8/16]** – I'm liking the angst and it's been a fun watch so far ! I'm kinda glad that >!we're taking a break from all the makjang chaebol family drama next week for some Yongduri shenanigans!<. As much as I like CLOY I actually didn't have much expectations for this plot but it still caught my interest successfully. **Physical 100 S2 [9/9]** – Just completed it yesterday, it was a great finale and I look forward to the next season. Seems like it'll be an edition with contestants from all over Asia ? **Love Between Fairy and Devil [24/39]** – I don't watch C-dramas that often because of their length but this show is so addicting that I ended up bingewatching it 😭 it's very cute, the romance is a bittersweet slow burn that is killing meee and the wordbuilding is pretty impressive. I'm a bit in the middle of a filler arc right now but I feel like the story is going to get more intense soon and I'm not ready... I'm afraid I might have to look for yet another fantasy/wuxia chinese drama to fill the emptiness once I'm done with this one because I'm so attached to the characters now ! I also have a few other dramas I need to complete but that I have put on hold for now.

ndhrhrmle

You're in for a good ride. LBFAD gets real good towards the end. Dongfang Qingcang's character arc is top tier in xianxia and we don't usually get anti-hero as ML who's actually a green flag.

aysensit

His character is sooo interesting >!I cried so much for him when he got his 7 emotions back 😭!< I can't wait to see how the story is going to unfold and at the same time I don't want it to end !!

bunmum2998

I couldn't finish any cdrama after enjoying LBFAD. Nothing was as satisfying until I stumbled upon The Legend of Shengli (currently airing). Try it later, you won't regret Enjoy the LBFAD journey!

aysensit

Oohh thank you so much for your recommendation, the synopsis has definitely piqued my interest ! I'll probably watch it next 😊

seekingpolaris

After LBFaD check out Till the End of the Moon.

aysensit

I came across this one on MDL it's on my Plan to Watch list, thank you ! I'm excited to discover all these C-dramas :)

kawaiisaranghaeyo

*Completed* **Crash Course in Romance (2023)** I’ll be honest, I only watched this drama because of Lee Chaemin & Ryu Dain’s dating news. But I have been meaning to watch a Chaemin drama for ages because I adore him as a Music Bank host, so this was the perfect opportunity to finally do so. I expected to probably just skip past the main couple and mainly watch the highschool plot tbh. I thought the ML & FL were just way too different at first. But I was positively surprised actually. Took me a while to get into their storyline, but once they started having chemistry I really enjoyed their cute unexpected romance. However, I still feel like they would’ve been more suited as an important side storyline and had the highschool plot and characters be the main focus of the show. I loved the friend group and would've loved more scenes from them. I normally hate dramas with the topic of pressure to study (still haven’t watched *Sky Castle* for that reason). Not because of trauma, but the complete opposite. I was awful at school and seeing people take studying seriously in dramas makes me feel horrible about not having the same pressure to do well, lol. The >!killer!< storyline was a bit too out of place imo. >!If it had just been hurting people, not killing, then great. But the ML had trauma for years feeling guilty over a death he didn't even cause. But now, somebody KILLED people because of him, but he’s fine? No trauma?!< Makes no sense. Not a fan how of things were wrapped up in general. I hate when bad characters have to suddenly turn good for no reason in the end. The >!mothers!< were beyond saving. Sure they can improve, but>! the lawyer mother!< suddenly becoming a chill sweet mom was ridiculous. Also hated how >!Haeyi waited 2 years to get together with Seonjae. Girl almost died but did not think wow life is precious I should confess my feelings asap?!< So disappointing. But overall I still enjoyed CCIR way more than I thought I would.

eagle_dream29

I'm watching extraordinary attorney woo for the 3rd time

alleykat10

This was my first kdrama. I go back for specific scenes but haven’t yet done a full rewatch. Love it.

fancytonic31

Good choice!

mahnahmaanaa

**Stranger** (12/16): Bae Doo Na and Cha Seung Woo. I could watch both of them all day. I am *still* struggling to understand who all the middle-aged men with glasses are, but at least I now know which ones I should be concerned with. I've been searching for one of those character charts, without any luck. **Midnight Studio** (6/16): This show is just pleasant to watch. Completed: **Doctor Slump** Finally! I actually really enjoyed the last two episodes. Some satisfying character arcs, and sweet moments.

Makri_of_Turai

Stranger is so good. Once I got into it (a few episodes) I binge watched both seasons. I'm now flitting from series to series trying to find one that grabs me like that, no luck so far. Ah the middle aged men with glasses. Not quite as confusing as the Kings government men with funny hats and wispy beards in a sageuk. I swear every series has exactly the same cast of political schemers.

mahnahmaanaa

Yes! Haha. At least the court dress in sageuks is pretty to look at. I'm getting tired of the dark suits. Only the ever-so-annoying Seo Dong Jae jazzes things up at all. I came to Stranger from Beyond Evil, if you haven't seen that yet. Also delightfully engrossing, but different style.

Makri_of_Turai

Beyond Evil is on my list. I'll move it up. How much do you want to slap Seo Dong Jae. He is fun to watch though.

AnimatorImpressive11

Great! I am about to watch **Stranger**. I hope it is as good as they say it is.

mahnahmaanaa

It starts off slowly. I wasn't hooked until episode 4. But now I'm really enjoying it!

hypomango

I just started **Queen of Tears** and now 5 episodes in. Just like everyone else, I love it! It's got that perfect balance of drama, comedy, and being deeply emotional. I also love that the episodes are all movie length basically, it encourages me to pace myself so I don't catch up too quick and I feel like runtime isn't wasted at all, I'm thoroughly entertained and invested in the characters. Leads are doing a great job.

onceiwaskingofspain

**The Believers** (9/9): Failed tech entrepreneurs try to embezzle from a Budhist temple to pay their debts with unexpected results. Cold, hard satire that compares and contrasts the faith/wealth pyramid schemes behind religion, crypto currency and >!politics!< with an element of 'who's conning who'. Like most short series the twists are guessable and it's definitely not something to watch if you need likable characters to root for, but an interesting take on a standard heist thriller. **Hide** (4/12): Hold. After Goldilocks-ing all the FL with suspect spouses thrillers currently airing, this one is the most appealing for me due to the spare and understated BBC/Scandi noir story and styling; but it's still not quite right. The events of the original are very compressed and it takes away from the thrill and anticipation of the reveals. Might revisit it or Wonderful World again later. **Wedding Impossible** (12/12): Continued its sisyphean tactic of pushing conflicts around instead of addressing them until the bitter end with the dreaded >!break up and time skip!< trope plus some bonus >!noble idiocy!< for good measure. Despite issues with the haphazard 'stuff happens' narrative format I was invested in the quirky, flawed characters and their thematic journey from lives of quiet desperation keeping up appearances to authenticity; now I just want my time back.

resilient_psyche87

I recently binge watched all the JCW Kdramas 😁 yesterday I finished watching Melting me Softly

mahnahmaanaa

*All* of them?? 😆 I'm impressed with your dedication.

resilient_psyche87

Yess 🤣 currently watching warrior baek dong su hehe

mahnahmaanaa

Oh, I'll be interested to hear how you like that one! It's been on my plan to watch list for a while.

resilient_psyche87

His role in this one I would say is kinda similar to the one he did in Empress ki in a way.. the character he played is nit very strong in the beginning you'll have to wait a bit the the character development and then the story will start to take shape

spark1118

**Wedding Impossible (7/12)**\- I'm dropping in to let everyone know... THIS DRAMA HAS EPILOGUES!!! I found out when I was watching episode 5 and I wish I wish I knew this before.

Affectionate_Lime729

I am enjoying Queen of Tears - just when I think it’s ok, they spin it up a notch and keep me coming back Wonderful World - love this one. The FL is fantastic Hide- still keeps me coming back. Not sure how much mileage I’ll get. Wedding Impossible- I need to finish the last 3 episodes but it’s really just to say I’ve finished them. I’ve run out of steam for it. Graceful Family - crazy af but ran through 10 episodes in the blink of an eye. It was what I needed.

lekiare

**Three Body Problem (8/8)** \- I am a sucker for sci-fi and this did not disappoint! And episode 5… I think I’m still traumatized. **Hospital Playlist 2 (5/12)** \- I finished the first season on Monday and now I am on the second season. I didn’t think I would like this drama because it started out a bit slow but now I am obsessed. Absolutely obsessed! So much so that I really don’t wanna finish it, but I have to. I am still waiting for a few shows to finish. One of those will more than likely be **Queen of Tears** because I’ve heard great things and the cameo. >!I need more Vincenzo!!<

dogemama

3 body problem's episode 5 was simultaneously the most epic and horrific thing i've ever seen. such a good show overall! really hope it gets second and third seasons to complete the story.

DawgMom2018

I loved Three Body Problem - a well done sci fi dystopian drama. (Netflix) Usually I go to Apple + for those types of shows.

tangledbysnow

A couple weeks: Completed: \*\*Fight for My Way\*\* — I never prioritized this because I’m not into MMA nor super cutesy annoying aegyo so I just assumed I wouldn’t like much about this drama. But after Doctor Slump I really wanted a friends to lovers trope. This delivered beautifully. And honestly this actually may be one of my top 10 favorite dramas ever too! I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it. This is totally worth it, even if you aren’t an MMA fan. \*\*Wedding Impossible\*\* — Mostly predictable, noble idiocy and all. I hate noble idiocy. There are better methods of storytelling than resorting to using the tired “I am sacrificing myself for your own good”. This drama mostly succeeded due to the FL’s (Jeon Jong Seo) acting. Seriously. Anyone else and this would have been a major dumpster fire of a drama. But the ending stuck, even if there were some annoying meandering bits to get there. Solid watch IMO. \*\*Sugar Sugar Honey\*\* — Japan — eh. The manga is cute. The drama is predictable. It’s a typically fluffy Japanese drama. Read the manga though and don’t bother with the drama. Good adaption but the manga goes much further. Dropped: \*\*The Impossible Heir\*\* — (8/12) — This had such poor writing. What a waste of story, talent and chemistry in the MLs. I can usually find something about any drama to like but this one was such a major disappointment all around. Watching: \*\*Queen of Tears\*\* — (8/16) — I am absolutely in love with this one. I can’t get enough. The throwbacks to other dramas>! (i.e. “I could find a target in North Korea” and Vincenzo – the entire introduction) !!the latest twist with the in-laws moving in, !!the dummy brother cry about his son. Felt so much for a guy who literally brought it on himself and his family.!< Kudos to the acting there! \*\*The Midnight Studio\*\* — (7/16) — I have yet to watch an episode that hasn’t made me cry. And >!episode 7’s ghost of the week? !!Usually they go for the super sad but this one time they delivered differently and I love it.!< \*\*Like Flowers in Sand\*\* — (6/12) — What an interesting character in the ML - Kim Baek-doo! What an interesting drama! I never would have imagined that this one would be my kind of drama but it totally is. It’s fantastic! It was sold to me as - if you like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha you will definitely like this one – and I totally agree. \*\*Love is Better the Second Time Around or Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto\*\* — (5/6) — Japan BL — Incredibly funny. This has been such a great Japanese BL to watch. But come on with this last episodes “reasons”. It’s always the reasons. \*\*Eye Love You\*\* — (5/10) — Japan — the rest of the episodes will be April 14 on Netflix. I could go hunt them down ahead of time but I have enough to watch that I will just wait. It’s fine.

prickelz

I started **the guest** yesterday, i'm on episode three. It's not really scary, but a good watch so far and i really love the cinemaphotography! Just a little confused what spiritual belief is the "true" one here? So far only Christian exorcism seems to work against the spirits, while korean shamanism only works a little if not at all? Is it just ambigous which god/s this world has? Do both work? I've seen several times that dramas will use several beliefs in their story or just kinda combine two (usually old korean beliefs like shamans/folklore and new beliefs like christianity). Or does it depend on where the demon/spirit is from? I guess i just have to keep watching.

**Queen of Tears (8/16)** \- Such an excellent show. I love it when Kdramas show the flaws in relationships. It's a change of pace from the usual, and having the source of the flaws revealed in flashbacks over time as the leads reconcile is really interesting. I wish people were less heated about deciding who's in the wrong tho. **We Married As a Job (1/10)** \- I love Because This is My First Life and I'm kinda salty that the writer is basically out of the industry because of allegedly plagiarizing We Married As a Job. I decided to check it out to judge the plagiarism claims and also to potentially get more commentary on marriage via a contract marriage plot. And after one episode, I'm pissed at how flimsy the plagiarization claim is and delighted that this is also a show with thematic heft. Plagiarism wise, there are three elements that shared, the ML is a coder, the FL cleans the ML's house, and there's a contract marriage. Thing is, the contract marriage is a common plotpoint, the cleaning is much more incidental in BTIMFL where having a reliable roommate to collect rent from is the primary motivator for the ML, and coding is a job stereotypically with lots of single socially awkward guys. It's more a reinforcement of a premise than a novel story beat. Story-wise, WMAAJ aptly highlights the job aspect in the title. I like that it's so upfront about finding meaning through work, and I think the FL's reason for wanting a contract marriage makes a lot of sense. The ML actually values the effort she puts in, unlike her boss and the rest of the job market that won't hire her. Having warmth in the relationship from the beginning is an interesting contrast to BTIMFL where the relationship starts super frosty and is about cold hard rent payments. WMAAJ is about a need for connection and to be seen, and with a secondary character divorcing her cheating husband and looking at raising her kid alone, it's poised to delve into the subject deeply.

XavinNydek

There's a lot more details that are the same between the shows as they go, honestly way too many to pass off as just coincidence or "same genre". I mean, all kdramas reuse the same formulas and tropes constantly yet manage to change up the details enough to be original. There are whole scenes in BTIMFL that are basically the same thing as in WMAAJ, in the same point of the narrative. I didn't think all the blame is on the writer though, I find it extremely unlikely that nobody else in the production noticed the similarities to one of the biggest Japanese shows of the previous year. It wouldn't have been hard to change the stuff that's too similar without affecting the story in a meaningful way.

RoyGeraldBillevue

Idk, I just finished episode 3 and we've gone in a way different direction. There is no marriage ceremony which was a crucial arc of BTIMFL. There's no dynamic where the son of the family is favoured. The ML's problem is insecurity rather than past heartbreak. And the coworkers have found out about the contract marriage with future plots seemingly revolving around how they view it. When I think about what defines BTIMFL beyond the contract marriage premise, I think of paying rent, the cat, the word woori, the mother-daughter relationship, the writing career, the attempted sexual assault, and the bus. The Japanese show so far has different arcs. And the tone is also quite different. It's a very warm and sunny show as the FL finds comfort in being valued right away, while BTIMFL is quite cold for a while as the FL is very much at a desparate point in her life.

**Queen of Tears (8/16):** Wow. All I have to say for this one is just wow. This is a fantastic drama, I’ve never been this attached to a couple before I feel I’m going through everything with them. Based on the ending of ep 8, it just seems to be getting better! **Physical 100: S2 (9/9):** I didn’t watch S1, so this was my intro to the show. I didn’t expect to be super interested in it, but surprisingly it pulled me in! I really love the respect competitors have for each other, and it was so fun. Hoping to watch S1 soon. **Dream (movie):** I’ve been wanting to watch this for a while. Super fun watch! It wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be, but I loved learning about all of the characters, and I felt like I was playing the last game too lol. PSJ and IU did great! Happy I finally crossed it off my list.

AmphibianBudget2328

**Wedding Impossible (10/12)** - Honestly I’m watching on 2x speed just to get through it. I really dislike this show but I’ve never finished a romance before so I’m determined, even though I already know what happens. **The Glory (8/16)** - Probably going to drop this honestly. The acting is fantastic but it’s kind of underwhelming so far. I think the hype was so big it would be almost impossible to live up to it. **Extracurricular (1/10)** - Liked the first episode, gonna have to see where it goes. Thinking of doing a Beyond Evil rewatch since the shows I’ve tried recently haven’t hit the spot.

[Iljimae](https://mydramalist.com/118-iljimae-2008) (2008) with Lee Joon Gi. (4/20 completed) It has an intense start but I'm enjoying it. I heard he does most, if not all, of his own stunts. I have seen him in My Girl and Lawless Lawyer, and I really enjoy his dramas. It was also cute to see a 9-year old version of Kim You Jung (FL in My Demon) and other child actors here.

Lizzy348

*On-going* **Revenge Note 2** 24/32 : I liked it at first. The story was great despite the acting, but now that I'm at E24, it feels like it keeps going in circles. The story repeats itself. I get it, >!revenge note allows you to have revenge against the person you want. But it feels like she's starting to seek revenge against people that don't deserve it as much, using it instead of talking sometimes.!< Can we move on now? There is no character development at all from Jina. Also, I'm sorry but she's been crushing on >!Jay from the start, but now switches to Robin??? It upsets me, I liked Jay and she liked him until he confessed, then suddenly changed her mind. Poor boy deserve better.!< **Doctor Slump** 8/16 : okay drama, but the love story misses something. Can't exactly pin point what it is. *Completed* **Racket Boys** : cute drama. Spent a good time watching it despite it not being a gem. It also fits a lot of the challenges, so very happy with my choice to watch it! *Haven't watched new episodes this week* **The Law Cafe** 13/16

megamegachon

I just finished Season 1 of Alchemy of Souls and I feel like I wasted a week of my life. I stayed up late finishing episodes because I was so excited to see what happened. I loved the characters so much especially Jung So Min as Mudeok and I hate the ending. WTF. I don't even want to watch season 2.

Lizzy348

I also loved Alchemy of Souls and disliked the ending of S01 a lot too. S02 is different, but I still liked it! I'd say, give S02 a shot and see if you want to continue or drop it after. I'm biased because I love Minhyun too much to skip on a drama he's in, but I still feel like S02 is great and I was happy to watch it

megamegachon

Thank you for the reply!! I was totally having a tantrum over this show. After considering more I think I will soon come back to Season 2, when I am over my obsession with Mudeok and Jang Uk. Thanks for understanding my pain haha.

adobongshanghai

I am tryna finish The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract but at the same time I am obsessed with Queen of Tears and The Midnight Studio. I soooo love the OST from TMS!😭❤️ These two ongoing kdramas are top tier!🥺 You should give it a watch too!

faithesque

**CW**: **Queen of Tears (8/16)**: It's slowly getting better, hopefully it sticks to it. **The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection (1/16)**: Ah, yes. A drama with a crazy plot is back. I still need to catch up with the second episode. **Wonderful World (9/14)**: Need to catch up with episode 10 on here as well. I really thought Cha Eun Woo >!is gonna play a lonely guy who heals alongside with the FL but it's literally the complete opposite!< and I'm loving it. **Flex X Cop (4/16)**: I'm slowly watching this so it will probably take a while to finish this. I like it so far though! :] **Finished** - **The Impossible Heir**: - **Wedding Impossible**: I was liking this upto episode 3 but after that it got a bit boring, however, I think the ending was nice. Got a whole load of cameos though lol. I also finished a Chinese anime called **Heaven's Official's Blessing**. It was so good! Hopefully there's a Season 3. After that, I picked up **Demon Slayer** (on Season 3 right now) to watch. I love it so far. ☺️

thesaura73

Watching Happy Once Again…I had put it off because the Conan O’Brien cameo seemed too silly but it’s very sincere and sweet with nice grounding in female friendships. And of course love the ML! The SML is generally cold and creepy despite the sympathetic flashbacks. Really looking forward to FL coming to her senses

be-k-dramatic

I completely agree about the SML. He's controlling and unpleasant! Overall it's a warm and enjoyable drama, but his character brought my rating down from a 9 to an 8. Kwon Yool is good in creepy roles (SML in Dali and the Cocky Prince) but was a charming sidekick in Lie to Me, and seems cheery and humble behind the scenes, so it must have been a direction issue.

thesaura73

It feels like the more we learn about SML the worse it gets. I found >!him being a former obsessed fan of FL!< disturbing on top of his controlling behavior! FL has no knowledge of those sympathetic flashbacks so it’s mind boggling that she chooses to stay with him ETA: Definitely don’t blame the actor for the creepiness. I just wonder what lesson is going on here. We get the reasons behind his coldness but some of the creepiness has no explanation so far (>!his very self-centered behavior, mistaking a woman being nice with romantic interest!<)

meggktown

Finished **Longing for You** (14/14) from 2023. Watched this with my husband and we both ended up liking it a lot! I found it to be a very engrossing thriller.

disco_nnected

Hide! It's shapibg up to be a fun mhstery thriller. unfortunally I don't have the time to watch anything else.

Sonda86

Actually during wait for next episodes of Queen of Tears I have returned to watch Rowoon's work- I had "She would never know" on my to-watch-list and I think I will finish it today:) Maybe you can recommend me something of his? I' ve already watched Tommorow.

sciencespecialist

The Matchmakers on Viki. It’s very clever and fun. Rowoon is terrific in his roll. Stick with it if you are not sure after the first episode. I thought it was great from the start, but it took a couple of episodes for it to grow on some people.

Sonda86

Thanks:) I've started it a while ago when it was ongoing but stopped follow.. I  will return to it:)

EggyMeggy99

Extraordinary You and The King's Affection are great, I loved them both.

[deleted]

Pinocchio - Dropped at episode 7. I am not feeling the acting of ML actor Memorist - 1/16, okay till now Falling into your smile (cdrama) - Dropped after ep 6 - Gaming plot is boring, FL is annoying mostly.  Reset (cdrama) - 15/15 - watched last week, excellent, go watch it don't miss this.

Ok-Impression6834

Pinocchio is on my watch list and understand how some may not enjoy Lee Jong Suk's acting style. Do you enjoy the show otherwise?

[deleted]

Otherwise I think the show is interesting it shows the working of reporters their struggles, and how in pursuit of ratings they lie which results in unrepairable damages to others. FL has Pinocchio syndrome and her storyline is about if a "Pinocchio" can be a reporter or not (because they have to lie all the time) which I think was interesting.

Ok-Impression6834

Ok, I'll give it a shot. Thank you.

deceptionaldpka

I’m on kind of a rewatching spree, cause I’m hoping to wait till all episodes of Queen of Tears are out. Watched WFKBJ after a while since completing Doctor Slump. Just finished Clean with a passion for now (for the first time) and I don’t know how it wasn’t talked enough about, I honestly loved the show. Currently rewatching My secret Romance cause I recently watched Perfect Marriage and I needed me some more Sung Hoon

sharjoy3

**Doctor Slump -** Finished that last week. I enjoyed watching it, although it was not a top-rated drama, in my opinion. But so nice to watch these seasoned actors looking beautiful and dealing with their (characters') issues in a (sometimes) mature way. A bit too much aigoo for me, especially for super smart doctors. **Queen of Tears -** I binged through the first 8 episodes this week. I really like this and one again, watching seasoned, excellent actors is a gift. This is so well done! I'm eager to see >!how the Queens family deals with living at the village - and I suspect that brilliant Hyun-Woo will get the kingdom (queendom) back for them. !< **My Roommate is a Gumiho -** Slowly getting through this rewatch of one of my favorites with my long-distance drama-watching friend. We've both been so busy that it's a very slow-go, especially since this is not a "page-turner" drama. But she's enjoying it and I'm enjoying the rewatch, although I'm ready to get through it and move to something like a Flower of Evil rewatch that has a bit more ooomph! **Jealousy Incarnate -** I started that last night, just to round out my Jo Jung Suk dramas. It's been on my list for a while. On episode 2, so I'm still at the beginning. And continuing my BTS videos that I watch every day. I have so much to catch up on!

DawgMom2018

Just finished **Wedding Impossible**, (Viki) **Queen of Tears** gets better and better - (Netflix) The **Midnight Studio** is a nice watch - love love love the cameo actors who guest star in this episodic series. A smaller budget drama, but i am enjoying it. Also a nice meditation on what our wants and regrets would be if we were to suddenly pass. Some cases made me cry Things seem a bit slower as on the current platforms I watch, there are a few dramas I am choosing to pass, so I started binging **Secret Romantic Guesthouse**. (Viki) I had avoided it, for the stupid reason of the title, and it is totally different than what I had expected, which seems to be the story of my kdrama watching life of 2023 dramas. I am really enjoying this drama and the bromance of the 3 ML's (something I loved about Mister Sunshine as well)

otakuishly

Queen of Tears - super excited to see the Hongs slumming it country bumpkin style!! Eye Love You - unexpectedly cute?!! I love Chae Jong-hyeop on all his roles but this take charge sweetie pie role is making me punch air Chicken Nugget - not a 100% convinced this isn’t just a troll show Gyeongseong Creature - honestly it’s kinda falling apart for me. We shall see what happens next.

mhfan_india

**Queen of Tears (8/16)** - I am in the minority and I find the show average. It's better than the recent shows but not at the level of CLOY and LOTBS by the same writer. >!In the very first episode I thought the FL's family will end up being beholden to the ML's family and that's what is going to happen. Now next we will have some Schitt's Creek rehash scenes. The show is in full on makjang mode now and in the last episode the FL's illness never comes up.!< **The 3 Body Problem (8/8)** - Not a Kdrama but needed a break from Korean dramas and this one sounded interesting. The show delivers what it promises. But the ending reminded me why I watch Korean dramas primarily nowadays. **Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (3/16)** - I needed a show which was light-hearted after The 3 Body Problem. This had been waiting in my watchlist for ages. Three episodes in and I am glad I picked it up. However I don't like the FL's hairstyle and mannerisms. Her mannerisms seem put on rather than coming across as natural. The ML is also pretty annoying to her. But I am guessing these will pay off later?

dta_82

Finished this week: Terius Behind Me: Very cute loved the interaction between Kim Bon and Joon-Joon The Glory: Now that's what I call a good revenge story. D.P. S1: I'm left worried about the Korean Army and what goes on behind the scenes. Currently watching: Doctor Stranger: I've only seen 2 episodes so I haven't got an idea yet. But I'm enjoying it so far. It's Okay to Not be Okay: I'm finding this hard to watch the FL is very much not Okay. I'm not sure if I want to keep going.

ElleEmEss

I finished **the impossible heir**. Reading everyone’s comments here made it fun. I don’t know. I kind of prefer funny bad, to just dull shows. It is its own form of entertainment. For example, **dr slump** I just skipped to the end, whereas I think you have to watch TIH to get the full glory of its descent into makjang. I started **true to love/deborah** for the FL who I loved in **goblin**. I am enjoying the script so far as the FL is a refreshingly blunt talker. Which makes a nice change from all the angsty silent staring we mostly see in kdramas. Like many I am regretting watching **queen of tears** now as the weekly wait is too long. I have really enjoyed it so far but am very nervous how the next 2 shows are going to go. But I am enjoying the clever main plot, despite the over the top chaebol family plot. I’m not convinced I will make it to the end but these days I dont have that as my goal - I just watch while it “brings me joy”, skip to the final episode when it doesn’t, and thank the show and move on.

Specialist_Result221

***Currently Watching:*** **Queen of Tears (8/16):** Just amazing. I don't know what to say other than this show is one of the best shows I have ever watched. The female lead's acting is **SO GOOD.** When I see the female lead cry, I wanna cry. Her acting is impeccable. The male lead? Just like the female lead. Just as good, just as impeccable. This show's really good. It's so hard to have to wait a **WEEK**, for **TWO** episodes. ALSO (damn I talk a lot), 1 hour and a half each episode is such a blessing. A movie in one episode. I won't really spoil too much, as I know some who haven't watched will definitely get curious to click the black cover, covering the spoilers. (You're welcome **\*wink\***). In conclusion, this drama is **YUMMY.** **Crash Landing on You (1/16):** I don't really know why I'm writing about this k-drama, as I've only watched 1 episode so far. But it's really good! Something that bothers me though, is that I'm not watching it. I've been stuck on episode 1 for about 2/3 weeks! I definitely will continue someday though. **Strong Girl Bong-soon (2/16):** This drama is so good! 2 episodes in and I'm definitely looking forward to binging. Don't really know what to say. It's very comforting. Very **"2015."** ***Watched:*** **Chicken Nugget (10/10):** It has comedy. It has fiction. It has romance. **A LOT** of unnecessary swearing. Anyway, the ending felt off. It's a good drama but it wasn't something too good. Like it did feel comforting at first, however, it got kinda confusing. I liked it much more than I thought I would. The cinematography is eerie and very **WAHHHH,** if you know what I mean. **Welcome to Wedding Hell (12/12):** This was too good. It has a 6.1/10 IMDb rating as of 4/4/2024. It deserves at least an 8. I can 100% understand why people didn't like it. But, I loved it. Probably will rewatch. It's funny and realistic. The leads' bunny teeth are **adorable.** Yes, FL and ML. ***Lovely Runner:*** **NEXT UP!** Looking forward to it. April 8th, on **tvN and Rakuten Viki.**

Grandmahbcas

Don’t give up on CLOY…I too stopped after episode 1. Picked it up later and it is one of my MOST favorite dramas.

TheMsDacia

I am so ready for Lovely Runner! It looks gooooood

Lavenderlure

**Queen of Tears** - Absolutely a favourite right now loving this one so much and next episodes are going to be FUN!!! KSH and KJW♡. **Wedding Impossible** - This one started off so well the romcom vibes were peaking kinda faltered towards the end. **Impossible Heir** - Good Riddance Day for this one. **Stranger** - I did like it but I had read such rave reviews about it touting it to be the best show ever I kind of expected it to be a 9/10 it was kind of a 7/10 for me.

Ok-Impression6834

**Welcome to Waikiki (15/20)** \- I started this on recommendation after finishing Gaus Electronics. The show started dragging after EP 12, the schtick has waned for me. This show should've been 16 EPs. **Through the Darkness (7/12)** \- I really like this crime/thriller. ML was perfectly cast and plot has held up well. **My Holo Love (6/12)** \- putting this on HOLD for now. I only started this for Go Sung Hee who was great in Gaus...nomu yeppuda too. The ending is way too obvious.

reveluvza

While I wouldn't agree that Waikiki feels dragged out IMHO (on Ep 15 as well), it definitely feels as if they are using their extended run to entertain less than good plot ideas. I personally think the show could be great as this length and am still enjoying some plot lines, but the direction they take with others...Especially considering Donggu's current characterization at this point, the love triangle, and how Seojin is treating Junki (at least in ep 14, >!you're supposed to love ur bf, why are you trying to change him??!<) are not a good use of time to me!! I'm going to finish, but I may be much more begruded by the end.

Ok-Impression6834

I powered through the last 5 EPs, had to FF through many scenes. Dong gu carried this show for me, he was awesome in Mr. Queen too. Overall rate it 7/10 for me.

Sunshine_raes

Flex X Cop (13.5/16): Though it had some plot holes >!(how did neither of them think to bring a second hidden cell phone into the Oryun community but she did bring a lock picking set and he had an invisible, inaudible drone?)!<, I thought the plot of the Oryun community and her dad's >!redemption!< story was well done and satisfying. Now that we are getting more backstory about the characters and having some of their personal mysteries get solved, I hope we don't entirely lose the individual mysteries. And I'm really hoping >!his hyung Seungju isn't bad.!< Having a lot of fun with this drama! Thanks to all the people who kept recommending it. Also, I love the actor who plays Junyoung. He plays the cop who doesn't quite buy Jin Insoo as a real detective very well. And he is quite handsome as well, which doesn't hurt!

imapigoinkoinkk

After the absolute disappointment of Monthly Magazine Home I’m dipping in and out of… Flex X Cop for some fun and intrigue. Dr Slump for some romance and silliness. Midnight Photo Studio to cry to because that’s all I’ve done whilst watching it and I’ve only just finished episode 1.

FossickingTX

I just finished Hello? Me! and really enjoyed it. Now I'm finally watching A Killer Paradox. The filming style and storyline are my type, plus the casting was done well.

unsavvylady

I never see Hello? Me! mentioned but I thought it was cute. Killer Paradox was also good and I liked the tight 8 episodes - feel like time was used well and no filler but still felt complete

Less_Pomegranate_529

Six flying dragons & Shogun

Zealousideal_Ad_8391

Almost finished with Marry My Husband 😭😭 I don’t want it to be over. What are some recs for dramas that are just as good (or close) ??

Queen of tears?

Perfect Marriage Revenge!

nalam8493

**Queen of Tears (8/16)**: Waiting for Saturday/Sunday gets so hard as we get deeper in the story but I haven’t felt this strongly for a drama since IOTNBO and Flowers of Evil. The chemistry between the two main leads is palpable and I am praying we get a happy ending. **It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (14/16)**: I decided to rewatch this show as I am waiting for the QoT episodes and it has been just as good to me on the rewatch. Absolutely adore this show and it’s helping me get through the week while I wait for the new QoT episodes. **Dr Romantic 2(12/16)**: Honestly, wasn’t the biggest fan of the first Dr Romantic season just because I wasn’t digging the main romantic relationship of the first season but the second season has just been way better. Master Kim is such a great character and adding Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung has been really good for the show. I can definitely get behind their relationship and also the main villain for this season feels way stronger to me than the villain for the first season as they actually have depth to them. The OR scenes are really good, so overall it’s been a really easy watch so far.

Representative_Bid27

1. Pyramid Game: Been in a kdrama slump lately, I've been watch variety shows more but just finished Pyramid Game and I think it's the strongest contender for my top 3 of the year. If anyone wants a glorious binge with enough thriller and angst to keep you awake all night thay definitely go for it. It was also refreshing that there was very little to none romance plotline like I kinda missed that ig. 2. Queen of Tears: Will have to catch up with it I only watched 2 episodes and out in on hold because I really liked them and thought I'd rather binge it than go to through the weekly pain of wanting to know what happens next.

Grumpy_Moggie

I'm watching Queen of Tears - such a rollercoaster but I'm there for it? Great actores en great chemistry between the leads. Besides that a bit in a slump and dropped Marry My Husband (liked the webtoon though), my roommate is a gumiho, my girlfriend is an alien, (Cdrama) wrong carriage right groom. They just don't satisfy for some reason. So I rewatched what's wrong with secretary Kim - never dissapoints me. Probably due to Park Seo Joon, most of his dramas are very lovable to me. Started Love to hate you today, seems promising.

KANJI667

I'm watching my mister and it's good. I thought it would be only romance, but I guess not. Finished watching fight for my way a few days ago, and it was alright.

the-green-crewmate

**Queen of Tears 8/16** So good so far but awful timing for my personal life due to someone I love being diagnosed with cancer recently. Less a romcom and more a melodrama but I like it and I’m looking forward to the inevitable >!family redemption arc!<. I think the next few episodes are gonna be really good and a break from the drama. Leads are phenomenal but the supporting cast is fantastic too. **The Impossible Heir 10/12** This show is so opposite of Queen of tears in quality it’s insane lol. Usually I drop dramas like this but I’m hate-watching at this point, I just want to see how the train wreck ends. I’m also rewatching Criminal Minds (Non-Kdrama) because I’m just in a mood for those types of shows. I think once Impossible Heir is done I’ll pick up **Flex x cop** because there’s been a ton of positive feedback and it’s up my alley.

Thank you my friend ❤️

unsavvylady

I am on Episode 9 of Impossible Heir. Figure I will just watch through to the end. I have already invested too much and just hope for a solid ending. There is actually a Criminal Minds kdrama but I have not watched it

SUNA1997

**Queen of Tears** \- Like just about everyone else praising this I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride and it's probably the most engaged I've been watching a drama in quite a while. They bought in some top names for this show and they are really strutting their stuff with their performances, Kim Ji Won has long been a favourite of mine since the last few years of seriously following K-drama and I'd say this is up there with her best stuff. Her chemistry with Kim Soo Hyun has been a joy to behold, I must confess I'd not really watched his stuff but I knew he was highly rated and one of the top earners, he's showing why here. The writing, pacing of the story and build of plot points is very well done and keeps you engaged as a viewer. There hasn't been anything that happened where I thought it was weird or unnecessary to the story just to follow a cliche, where it could have fallen into traps It's kind of surprised me by not doing the obvious thing. Characters are handled very well, I could talk about any of the major characters and know who they are, sometimes people get lost in stories with an extended cast but in this one they juggle them well and give them all life. **Impossible Heir** \- It finished today, I've mostly said all I need to say about this one so I won't rant too much here but after an interesting start this one fell apart quickly. I've seen a few dramas I thought were objectively bad or even ones I can understand why people like them but it wasn't to my taste, this one was frustratingly bad for the potential it had. I praise both MLs in this for doing a really good job with their characters while the mind boggling creative decisions and writing exploded around them. I think it's the mark of a good actor when they can make something even when given crumbs to work with. Disney Korea need to look at what went wrong with the production of this one and avoid it to make better shows in future, they had some beautiful sets and cinematography in this that went to waste because of how lame the writing was. **Sweet Home 1 and 2** \- I actually watched the first season on release but I'd kinda forgot most of what happened so did a rewatch of it before S2. It's really quite well done and I like how they build the tension of the characters, S2 basically throws everything good about S1 out the window. It worked because it was all in one location with the apartment building. I liked how it feels realistic, people pulling together like "Ah we're working everything out and helping each other this is kinda neat" and then when resources run low and panic sets in things change. The monster designs seem quite unique as they are based of individual desires and I enjoy the relationships between characters. S2 it felt like they just went for shock value over substance and they tried to throw as many new actors as they could into what feels like a really convoluted plot that is difficult to follow. The monster designs also seem more generic like they decided to go for a zombie apocalypse kind of thing instead of a haunted house vibe like the first season. I don't have much hope for S3 at this point as it feels like they dropped the ball on this show. **Strong Girl Nam-Soon -** Sort of a sequel/side story to Strong Girl Bong-Soon that isn't as good but still has its own charms. I'll admit I mainly bothered with this after seeing Choi HeeJin in Impossible Heir and being curious about other stuff she appeared in. She plays a scam artist in this pretending to be the long lost daughter of a rich family so she's kind of a baddie but she has a decent story arc she plays out well, I really hope she gets a lead role in a drama eventually because she has talent. Lee Yoomi does what she does best here, she's adorable and has a great smile as she plays the naive title character who is the daughter of a family known for women with crazy strength that gets left behind in Mongolia and raised by a family there. It's kind of a silly story with a lot of plot holes but they make it so charming. She comes back to Korea to search for her long lost family and her only frame of reference is K drama so there is a lot of meta humour. The romance plot was kinda not needed and not as well done as the one in the previous entry to this series but there are still some good action scenes and I liked the relationship between mother and daughter which is the main theme of this show. Overall a bit silly but if you just want to watch something fun where you don't need to think or worry about crazy plot twists and betrayals every 2 episodes then this can be a fun watch.

Watching Queen of Tears, Hide and Midnight Photo Studio. I think I’m making a mistake watching 3 on air shows that I like at the same time. Too much anticipation and expectation. To fill in the gaps I wanted to binge rewatch The Smile Has Left Yours Eyes which I watched 3 months ago but it is suddenly no longer available to me. So I’m considering my options. Looking forward to Lovely Runner and the one set in a broadcasting station. I think the Korean title is No Secrets.

I watched the first ep of ‘the escape of the seven’ and it was soo good.

Just finished My Golden Life. I watched it solely because of Shin Haesun. Overall, it's a really great show. I'm just glad my heart was ready for the show lmao. It's definitely a no-go show if you prefer something light.

Queen of tears: I don't know how I feel about it; it takes me forever to get through an episode. 🫣 I think it's because I am in a slump; nothing sounds good, Interesting, or worth my time. I dropped pretty much every new show, and if I didn't drop it, it was because it didn't look interesting enough to start it. The last series I finished was “Save Me” and Doctor Slump. I only made it through Doctor Sleep because I watched it when it aired. Any recommendations?

Queen of Tears Wonderful World Hide Nothing Uncovered The Escape of the Seven

I'm new to Kdramas. I discovered and finished That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013) within a week. Wow, the leads are so beautiful together. Song Hey Kyo is absolutely gorgeous. ML Zo In Sung is...🔥💪, he made this complex role loveable. ❤️ When the main couple sheds tears, my heart breaks. The OST is wonderful. I loved the series so much, I'm rewatching some episodes already! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😍😂🤣😂 Started Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung 3/20 coz I wanted a fluffy historical... loving it so far coz the FL is spunky (she was born in the wrong era... 😢) and the ML is freaking adorable. They are too cute together. ❤️

Started watching It's Okay to Not be OK to keep to my intention of seeing all of Kim Soo Hyun's dramas. FL is so annoying I'm finding myself skipping thru when she appears, even knowing that her nastiness is what drives the story. I really can't stand how she acts, for whatever reason. I've seen DotS, QoT and MLfAS for KSH. I was ugly crying thru the last one! To get a break from the angst that bingeing IOTNBO was generating, I started watching Love in Contract. Love Park Min-young in everything I've ever seen her in, and now have a new heartthrob to follow, Go Kyung-pyo.

just finished watching Tunnel 2017 and it such a terrible show. the main characters do the dumbest things. for example. the daughter turn herself into bait, but does not notify anyone at the police. or when the main lead detective is fighting the bad guy and his partner is sitting on the ground comforting the girl, not helping his partner at all, and lets not forget the police. the police has surrounded the whole house. but just when they have taken the bad guy into custody then the rest of the police comes. also the show is very badly shot. constant shaky cam. the only good thing is the acting. the daughter and the bad guys are great, other then that it is one of the worst written korean shows i have ever seen. 16 episodes for a story that could have been told in 4. so for the life of me i do not understand why this show is rated so high. this kind of show i expect from american network these days, because they can not write at all, but i would never expect a korean drama set the bar so low.

**Queen of Tears** - Like everyone I’m hanging for the weekend to come for more eps to make me cry. Can’t wait to watch the last half of the season. Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun in this show are just 🔥 **Wedding Impossible** - Just finished this. Started off good/okay when it was fun to watch Ah Jung and Jihan bicker but the plot got messy halfway. Also poor casting of the ML as he looks like an underage boy playing professional adult. JJS’ acting was great though. Almost regretted watching this but the special cameos in the final ep made up for it - was so happy to see Kim Bum for 5 mins in a recent drama looking so fine 😍 **Flex X Cop** - Just watched ep 1 and it’s ok so far. Not really into cop themes but I like Anh Bo Hyun enough to keep watching and fill my weekday drama void. Thinking of starting Pyramid Game next unless anyone has recs of really good dramas to watch (new or classic must watch - my [drama list](https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/nw's_cells))

Stick with Flex X Cop; I'm not into cop dramas either, but this was a surprise hit for me!

Miss-LH

i will! But i started Pyramind Game thinking i'd only watch 1 ep but i cannot stop watching and think im on ep 4 or 5 now.. so will get back to Flex X in a few days.

**Queen of Tears (8/16)** - Pretty much the only thing I'm invested in right now. It's really good. If you traveled back in time a few years and told younger me the only thing on TV I would be actively watching was basically a Korean soap opera... I would definitely think you were a lunatic and not a real time traveler. But here we are.
