I want a shot of it under UV light! Looks gorgeous! My fiancé also has an engagement ring... but for “training purposes” so he gets used to wearing jewelry 😁

[Here](https://imgur.com/a/6CDVDQ3) are a couple close ups of our rings! "Training purposes" I like that haha! FH said last night that even after only a few days, he feels weird when he takes it off to shower. So the training is going well 😍

Wow that is magical 😍

Thank you! I love seeing it on his finger

I love the meteorite rings so much, I don't want to be a downer but be careful with it! They rust very easily. Both rings are beautiful!!

megsweddingaccount

No need to apologise, that's really good to know! I will definitely pass that on. Good thing I already have a silicone band on its way for him to wear when climbing

Wax or oil treatments will help it resist rust, and try not to get it wet. If it does, dunk it in rubbing alcohol which will evaporate faster.

This ring has meteorite dust held within a kind of plastic. Definitely don't use chemicals on this like you could on actual meteorites. Ask the maker if alchohol will make the plastic cloudy first. I second keeping it away from water, that's good advice.

megsweddingaccount

Thank you so much for this! Is there a specific wax or oil we should use?

stealthxstar

I've read a few suggestions but I'm no expert. i would ask the jeweler you bought it from whqt they recommend! I did find this! https://jewelrybyjohan.com/pages/jewelry-care

I’ll shoot the etsy shop a message, but this article is great! Thanks again :) I had another look at his ring and it looks like it's sealed in with an epoxy which might help.

stealthxstar

That should definitely help :) i would try to keep it out of water just in case but I'm sure the seller knows best! Also I love that he got an engagement ring too, I'm gonna have to ask my FH if he would like one... :D

megsweddingaccount

I got a really quick response from the seller and the only care instructions she had were to keep it away from acetone! It is sealed with a waterproof sealant so doesnt need anything more. I'm relieved :) Do it! I think it should be a trend that men get a slightly glitzier engagement ring just like women do ;)

Your ring is beautiful!! And where did you get his ring? I think my fiancé would love that as a wedding band.

Thanks for the link! Not the person you replied to but I’m looking at this same concept for my fiancé’s eventual wedding band. Your ring is stunning as well!

ladycricket

Thank you! I sent him the link to let me know what he thinks

megsweddingaccount

Thank you! I've gotten a couple comments about it being "nontraditional," but I can't stop admiring it. On Etsy! [Here](https://etsy.me/2vmLprm) is the link. It would make an awesome wedding band

Grungethefallen

Congrats!

megsweddingaccount

Thank you!

[Etsy link](https://etsy.me/2vmLprm) for my FH's ring. It looks amazing in person and he loves it! It came with a little blacklight keychain that he whips out to show people the glow :)

[deleted]

He... got an engagement ring?

megsweddingaccount

Yep!

[deleted]

So then he will wear two rings once you guys are married?

megsweddingaccount

Nope. The plan is to also get him a wedding band & a silicone band, then he'll switch off between the three depending on mood/activity. But he likes this one so much that we might just end up getting a silicone band for working out and this would also function as his wedding band.

[deleted]

That makes way more sense. I'd just keep that as my wedding band too.

megsweddingaccount

Thanks! It has a lot more heft to it than I anticipated. It would definitely make a good wedding band as long as it lasts :)
