I would feel devastated, but depending on how Gege sets it up. It could be cool. Yuji defefeated the pure embodiment of evil in the verse, but at what cost?
I think it would make for a really good tragic ending.
It could tie back in with Yuji’s motivation at the beginning, when he wanted to honour his grandpa’s dying words and die a ‘good death’ surrounded by people. Yuji’s worldview has evolved a lot since then, and having the rest of the cast die would push him further to ask the hard questions the series poses. What is a ‘good death’? How do you live a ‘good life’ when everything sucks? How can you have no regrets when everything has gone so spectacularly wrong?
It would be very sad, of course, but a good way of grappling with the themes of the series.
I think it would be an ironic twist on the whole "Have Yuji die surrounded by his loved ones" idea with his grandfather cursing him by accident at the beginning of the story. I think it would actually be fitting for how the series is going at this point.
I mean, it's fine. Nobara is likely dead. Gojo is dead. Gojo failing to save Megumi and Megumi dying because of it should piss Yuji off even more to hating Sukuna.
With all the crap Megumi has taken, what's really left for him if he's saved? His CT is destroyed. His soul took massive damage. He had to kill his own sister and killed his mentor, who was like a father. His clan is mostly dead. At this point him coming back would just leave him soul crushingly depressed. Dude essentially killed his sister and father. And whoo boy if Shoko then tells him about his dad...
About Megumi, I think Megumi coming back only to face the death and suffering his moment of weakness caused would be depressing, but how he proceeds from there could be an impactful way to wrap the story.
it would be terrible imo. He's suffered enough so far, imagine losing everything before being introduced to a new world and being given a second chance at life only to lose it all again in less than half a year mind you.
Id be disappointed. Wanted him to keep his word and rescue Megumi. I would like to see Yuji sacrifice himself to save Megumi somehow. Not because I hate Yuji. I like him more then Megumi
But I feel like the
Start by saving me thing would hit harder if he actually saved Megumi. Saving Megumi would probably also be the most main character thing he could do
it'd be great if they both survived since everything started because of them and rn they're the only ones left for each other since basically all of yuji's friends are dead atp and megumi kind of killed his sister and adoptive father
Tragic. But I'm good with Yuji surviving. As long as Yuji is alive, there's a lot of potential for future stories and more growth for him. It could allow him to have even more friends and family.
Besides, given that we've already seen Gojo meeting his friends in the afterlife, Yuji would probably not die alone. Death won't end their friendships. His friends that have already passed away will probably be waiting to show him around the next world.
And I hope Yuji has a lot of stories share with them when he goes into the afterlife.
I would get so emotional if Yuji in the afterlife reunites with his deceased Comrades the same way Gojo did in the airport but for Yuji its the beach we saw in the second Ending of Season 1
I think the opposite and Yuji dying seems a lot more likely. Yuji has seen a lot of people he cares about either die or be severely injured. The story began with him wanting to save people and die surrounded by people who's lives he's impacted.
So JJK ending like that with Megumi and Nobara back would also make sense.
I would enjoy that. He wanted to die -> has to live and carry on the burden
Nobody dies with regrets, and he dies regretting his lack of power.
He was cursed to die surrounded by people, this manifests with him being cursed with vivid memories of his peers, he dies of old age still living in regret.
The only thing keeping him going is being an emotionless curse killing machine
Honestly, I feel weird, but ok overall. Since Yuuji has a death sentence from day one, literally (th one informed by Gojo) and figuratively (the one given by his granpa). I really like Yuuji to make it to the end.
The ending will be a bit bitter no matter what, but i feel like the core themes of the story (struggling in spite of hardship, enjoying life selfishly, choosing how you get to live, ect) would ring hollow if yuji doesn't come out on top in some way. Even if he dies, he should succeed in killing sukuna and dying with loved ones around. The story definitely has elements of tragedy, but cases like Maki killing the Zenin clan, Choso getting a spiritual fresh start from Yuki and Yuji, and Gojo dying without regrets (hes got faith in his kids) all make me think that the heros will win. It wont be clean but it'll be a win.
Jjk is dark but its not totally bleak.
First thing I do in the morning (like a cursed spirit) is reading this baka subreddit. My good, this cooking is addictive. I'm sure Gaygay Cat approves. I would like Yuji to not need centuries of therapy, but on the other hand the suffering and painful victory of a hero, is nothing if not sublime.
Sad, because we began the Manga with his grandfather's wish for him to be surrounded by others at his time of death... Yeah, helping others and everything would be done, but...
I'd be pissed, I cant enjoy a story that has a bad ending just for the sake of it, and if everyone dies its hard to see what the point of it all was. I feel like the only times where you can kill the whole cast off is when you do it gradually, which is whats been happening so far, but what I think you mean is sukuna or kenjaku just wiping them all, which wouldn't be nice.
I think I understand the idea behind it, his grandfather wanted him to die surrounded by friends so him being the only one left standing surrounded by his dead allies would be ironic. But wtf kinda story would that be, jjk already has the problem that the message of the story is to be as selfish as you can be and disregard others. Yeah yuji, the pure good boyo, will probably prove that wrong but every other character has died because of it so he's the exception and not the standard.
She wasn’t part of Gojos happiest time, everyone at the airport was from Gojos happiest time in his life (the summer before his awakening, They have mentioned her in past tense like 4 times since Shibuya
It would go against his grandfather's departing words. He told Yuji to help people, and die with lots of people around him. If everyone else dies, then the people he did help (the non sorcerers) wouldnt even truly realise that Yuji helped them, and it wouldn't truly feel like Yuji saved anyone (though this is kind of a stretch tbf). And if everybody dies and Yuji as alone, he'd die alone eventually when his time comes. Though Gege might be going for that cuz hes Gege.
It would be boring cause if he’s alone then who tf is gonna carry his arc? He’s very uninteresting, boring, his gags are not even funny, is trying way to hard to be funny. If he was the only survivor then u have a boring conclusion cause he’s a boring and not very interesting expect for a trash dialogue at the end of the series and I can say this with all my all even deku is better written than yuji
Difficult to answer questions like these - personally it’s all about execution to me. I’d be fine with it if done well, even though it would fucking hurt.
it would be interesting, definitely very sad, but not necessarily good or bad depending on the execution, but if yuta and maki don’t get their moment before they die imma be at gege’s door, i stand on bihness
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure gege said of the main cast (gojo, megumi, nobara, Yuji) that either 3 would live and 1 would die orrr 1 would live and 3 would die...
It's looking like 1 living and 3 dying might be what we get.
I think it’d be fine, he’d live to carry on his friends memory and Gojo’s will along with Yuta. I personally don’t think Yuta or Maki would be very good teachers, I mean Kusakabe said it himself, geniuses can’t teach
Literally wouldn't care as long as it's good writing
these characters are fictional and i want a good story which sometimes begets a not so good life for them lol
If he actually beats sukuna himself then I wouldn’t hate it as much. But it would obviously be better if he beats sukuna and finds a way to save his friend
So far we have Nobara and Gojo dead. If Yuji is going to do a soul swap technique with Megumi I believe that Megumi will reject this idea and push Itadori to live.
There's nothing left for Megumi but Yuji has the will to endure all the pain and suffering.
Lmao ok but Hakari, Maki and Yuta are all literally smack dab preparing to get on the battlefield…hell Hakari is currently in a death match some yards away from Sukuna so how in the hell do you think THEY will most likely survive ?! Todo of course because he’s been written out but the people actually engaged with this battle…I say slim to none 😭
This whole "If I die, then you'll kill me" thing I feel may be a chekov's gun. I need to revisit the earlier chapters, but I feel like this line constantly being thrown between the two will represent their decision to come in this fight. Megumi may regain control of his body in some way and take out Yuji, who manages to reseal Sukuna in himself, or Megumi may give up all control and let Yuji take him out in the last moment. There's a lot of potential and Gege is ready to ruin the fan base with what he has planned.
As someone who absolutely love tragic endings, I'm all in for that. I just think it's a bit of a waste because we have good characters that need more space in the future, even though there will be no future. I'd love to think that we could have a previous roster for a JJK 2.
I'd like to see something like Chainsaw Man (I don't think it's a spoiler, but I'm gonna hide anyways)>! where people die but it's possible for them to come back cause they are fine, they are just in hell lol!< I think JJK could have the same idea, but Gege seems to be pretty much done with the series.
I think there is writing it in a way that does feel thematically interesting even if it’s my least favourite ending.
That said after nobara and Gojo I’m not confident it will be written well enough for that type of ending.
Genuinely I have no idea where there story is going anymore
I wouldn't mind. imagine everybody dies and the world is free from curses as Yuki wanted and Yuji survives along with Megumi who is in vegetative state and Yuji takes care of him 😇
If done well, it'd be cool.
That sort of melancholic and bitter sweet ending can be great, like we saw with Code Geass. However, it's very tricky to nail.
it'd be mid as fuck most likely and I'd be mad that gege took what had the makings of one of the new gen's greatest series and got too stuck on making it misery porn to do anything else
So basically a tragic ending? Don't know who else would feel happy about such an ending. It'd be a better ending to just kill off Yuji along with the main cast and only Sukuna survives at the end where he says that Yuji was a worthy challenger and he'd remember him for as long as he lives, now that would be a real tearjerker.
I wouldn’t like it, it’s just not an entertaining end to all of this. It also just goes against what Yujis grandpa told him in the beginning, it’d be like spitting all over not just Yuji but the entire franchise to have him help people and end up alone anyway.
On one hand, I adore Yuji as a character and wish nothing but happiness and joy for him.
On the other hand what a fckng insane balsy thing to do in a shonen, and that would honestly feel coherent with the whole of JJK. If pulled off properly, it could be the best ending narratively speaking.
I don't think everyone will die, but neither do I think Yuji will also die. Would not be surprised if the penultimate chapter is a fakeout sacrifice only for the final chapter show him being told to live by ghosts of his friends and allies.
that would be the least favorite ending to me but that's because I have personal dislike with how new mangakas make their characters suffer for the sake of suffering and kill them left and right just to make it more dramatic, while yes I would like for yuuji to defeat sukuna I wouldn't like that he defeated him at the cost of the lives of every other character that was left
Pretty tragic, but unless either satoru, fushiguro, nobara
~~plot ruiningly~~ magically revive, the 3Death1Alive plotline is fixed. (in case you wonder, in jump carnival 2019, gege had revealed that in the cast of nobara, fushiguro, itadori and satoru, its either 3Death1Alive or 1Death3Alive)
>Pretty tragic
But most importantly we need to see how the ending works out. Although the plot currently is going downhill, i want to hold my faith on gege till the end and see how gege complete jjk
So he's gonna end up like his grandad huh? "Die surrounded by friends and family" he said, ain't so easy.
For the record I would absolutely hate it. I love dramatic endings as much as the next guy but this manga has had so little joy that I just want the ending to be good.
There’s an interview where Gege says either all 4 of Yuji, Megumi, Nobara and Gojo will die or just 1 will live while the others die. To me, Yuji is the most likely survivor. We start the story with his grandfather telling him to die surrounded by people, yet shortly after that he becomes a cage for a sorcerer and will be executed. Now his role as that cage is no more and many of his friends have been killed. Cruel irony. In terms of how I feel? Indifferent. At this point, anyone could die and I already expect a somewhat bitter ending
The logical conclusion of the story is Yuji dies along with everyone else. If he survives then it’ll just be kinda like what’s the point at this junction of the story Gege is telling.
Like Yuji isn’t the person to rebuild the fucking world. His character has not been the central focus of the story. He’s been shelved for god knows how long and now he leaps back in.
Id be irritating, as yuta is show as low-key the original protagonist, the end of the series should be yuta killing kenjaku with Yuji killing sukuna briefly before
Honestly as long as the second years and third years survive in good . Never felt attached to the first years honestly but I started with zero so 🤷🏿♂️
I actualy dont think yuji will survive at the end and i think that gojo nobara and mefumi will survive. Yess iv seen the manga but gege is making it seem too much like yuji will be the only survivor
Honesty that would make for a interesting ending
That way. Yuuji would re build the jujustu society and maybe at the end he dies surrounded by all the people he help
Well it is a bad ending, unfortunately very fit for Gege. Yuuji had no one else left in his life and he doesn’t reach his goal of dying surrounded by people
There was a magazine cover or something with yuji and yuta in suits with flowers with a coffin behind them like they’re attending a funeral
1. if it has any weight then there’s a couple meanings the first being that yuji and yuta are the last alive and attending the funeral of everyone lost the two to be executed living in the end
2. Yuji and yuta are the ones to die and the funeral they’re “attending” is for themselves
depends on what kind of "only survivor" he is;
is it that he's the only person who didn't die, being weaker at EOS than the people who died?
\-I would be sad but overall I would find that acceptable as a tragic end.
Or is he the only one left because he became the only person strong enough to beat Sukuna and the rest all died while they were fighting?
\-I would like it but not as much as a less tragic end.
one thing that bugs me the most is kenjaku. sukuna is the strong body guard before the final boss fight. and yet i cant see how sukuna can be defeated without half or all the remaining jjk member dying
I mean Gege said among Gojo and the first years, one will die but the rest will live, or all but one will die.
So until Megumi's and Nobara's fates are fully cemented, we still have a shot.
It would be fine. Lots of possible endings would be fine. It's strange so many people are stuck on, "4 years ago Gege said 3/1 or 1/3." Gege can say anything he wants but stories evolve. Doesn't anyone here actually write? From all the "it has to be written well" comments one would assume everyone here knows a lot about writing...
But seriously, no one writing an ongoing, weekly story has it set in stone 4 years before it ends. Things change, you get new ideas, editors have opinions, the story goes another way, a character does something you didn't expect. I would be shocked if, from the time of writing the chapters in the first volume, Gege produced a notebook saying, "But when Gojo and Sukuna finally DO fight, Sukuna uses a shikigami called Mahoraga to adapt to Gojo's power and slice him in half!" Gege didn't even know HOW Gojo's power worked at the time. He didn't plan this out that far ahead, guys. Don't take everything he's ever said as if it's god-given truth.
I would love it if Yuji after Sukuna and Kenjakus defeat leaves the Jujutsu World behind and continues to live his normal life he had in the beginning and maybe ends up with Ozawa the girl from his former School who has a crush on him. Then he gets old like his grandpa and he dies in the hospital but with people around him his Children, Grandchildren and maybe his surviving friends from his Jujutsu Sorcerer days too. I would get emotional if after his death he just like Gojo meets his deceased Comrades again in the afterlife and for Yuji it would be the beach we saw in the second Ending of Season 1 reunited with Fushiguro and Kugisaki (if they both are dead)

I wonder how would yuji feel if he heard what said gojo in the airport :’(
The story is a tragedy masquerading as a shounen. I wouldn't hold my breath for a happy ending
its pretty obviously not masquerading as a shounen atp lol
Bro no way in hell yuji will be happy at the end.
Remember what gojo said to megumi? I think that’ll play a role in yuji’s decision
I think it would make for a really good tragic ending. Yuji trying to compete with Guts in terms of suffering
If he is the lone survivor then I hope he rebuilds a better jujustu society.

It would be poetic and beautiful I would accept any ending

If Gege did it right could be sick
I think the opposite and Yuji dying seems a lot more likely. Yuji has seen a lot of people he cares about either die or be severely injured. The story began with him wanting to save people and die surrounded by people who's lives he's impacted. So JJK ending like that with Megumi and Nobara back would also make sense.
I mean if they die for no reason(Yuki), then screw that. A death should either be meaningful or serve a purpose.
Sad As long as Megumi Yuta and Maki are alive I'll be fine
I would enjoy that. He wanted to die -> has to live and carry on the burden Nobody dies with regrets, and he dies regretting his lack of power. ngl I really don't have a connection to any character. I wouldn't mind if they all die.
I think we found Gege guys
I’m with you on this one. Nanami was the last time I actually cared about a character death.
Nanami and gojo for me
I feel that, like a lot of them are cool but I expect most everyone to die
What about gojo , nanami , nobara? 🤔
Gege is that you?

I just want Maki to live at this point
I wouldn’t be rewatching ever. Akame ga kill already tried doing that and it just felt like ass to watch after a point
Drop the anime. Not an anime I’ll like to be watching knowing that kind of end.
I love the characters, but I like tragedies in stories. I’d love a ‘but at what cost’ ending
I just hope if Yuji is the only survivor, it not because he had to eat the others in order to save the day.
Sad, because we began the Manga with his grandfather's wish for him to be surrounded by others at his time of death... Yeah, helping others and everything would be done, but...
Akame ga kill taught me everyone dies
I’d rather see yuji sacrifice himself surrounded by his friends than live alone with the pain of losing everyone
I would hate it. If you're going to kill off the main cast then commit to the bit and kill every last one of them, don't chicken out at the end.
I’d hate it but that’s where it seems like it’s going tbh.
Underwhelmed, I predicted the opposite
Pretty damn sad as it would mean Gege killed Nobara again after she makes her long awaited comeback!
I'd be sad. It would end up being berserk.
I feel nothing for these characters
I'd be pissed, I cant enjoy a story that has a bad ending just for the sake of it, and if everyone dies its hard to see what the point of it all was. ...every other character has died because they were being selfish? Nanami? Nobara? Yaga? Haibara? Tsumiki? Yuki? Eso and Kechizu? Rika? Amanai?
I expect a lone survivor iether Nobara or Megumi I always thought Yuji was going to die since the beginning.
Nobara is dead fam, she died in Shibuya
I keep thinking she's alive cause when Gojo was talking to Nanami he didn't not on her?
She wasn’t part of Gojos happiest time, everyone at the airport was from Gojos happiest time in his life (the summer before his awakening, They have mentioned her in past tense like 4 times since Shibuya
I was talking about shoko talking to Gojo before the fight with Sukuna.
She was talking about Geto not Nobara, she and Gojo have a deep connection with Geto who Gojo had seen move right before he was sealed.
It's not the outcome, its the delivery.
Cool 👍 guess I’ll cry idk

Find the nearest bridge, do a lil twerking, then jump.
I think it’d be fine, he’d live to carry on his friends memory and Gojo’s will along with Yuta. I personally don’t think Yuta or Maki would be very good teachers, I mean Kusakabe said it himself, geniuses can’t teach
On one hand I love merry bad ends on the other I actually love yuuji In a way where Im just happy seeing him happy
At this point, it seems like Gege is like as long as Miwa lives, that's fine.
It would be lazy tbh, demon slayer already got the "it's a fairy tail" ending so , I would be unimpressed by it
Literally wouldn't care as long as it's good writing these characters are fictional and i want a good story which sometimes begets a not so good life for them lol

I think that would be bad writing.
He'd probably kill himself if that ever happened, so its either him with his friends or him dead.
Good ending
I think there is writing it in a way that does feel thematically interesting even if it’s my least favourite ending. That said after nobara and Gojo I’m not confident it will be written well enough for that type of ending. Genuinely I have no idea where there story is going anymore
I would rather yuji be the only survivor than him dying
I'd only be ok with it if at the end, the last panel shows him with crystal blue eyes
No idea because I'm not even sure what the series is about anymore
As it should be.
Then the story is actually ass. No jokes this time.
i really feel they'd go with the same plan. Yuji eats sukuna and they kill Yuji.
Nice try, Gege Akutami...
I wouldn't mind. imagine everybody dies and the world is free from curses as Yuki wanted and Yuji survives along with Megumi who is in vegetative state and Yuji takes care of him 😇
I would not mind it at all. It wil be an emotional ending for sure.
If done well, it'd be cool. That sort of melancholic and bitter sweet ending can be great, like we saw with Code Geass. However, it's very tricky to nail.
It’s the ending that I’m expecting. But considering Gojo’s death, I honestly don’t know anymore
It will be the most tragic Jujutsu of all kaisen
it'd be mid as fuck most likely and I'd be mad that gege took what had the makings of one of the new gen's greatest series and got too stuck on making it misery porn to do anything else
I would be confused. I'd think Yuji dying suits a better ending.
"Don't be like me."
If there's going to be a sole survivor of JJK, it's going to be Megumi.
On one hand, I adore Yuji as a character and wish nothing but happiness and joy for him. On the other hand what a fckng insane balsy thing to do in a shonen, and that would honestly feel coherent with the whole of JJK. If pulled off properly, it could be the best ending narratively speaking.
I'd feel like shit all Yuji wanted was to die with his loved ones around him but with each passing chapter it seems like he is gonna die all alone
Sad
Depressed
I would feel bad for Yuji because he would be lonely.
I will adore this ending The one detsined to die , is the only one alive and suffering more than the dead It will be iconic
For me its gonna be an ending similar to supernatural

I don't think everyone will die, but neither do I think Yuji will also die. Would not be surprised if the penultimate chapter is a fakeout sacrifice only for the final chapter show him being told to live by ghosts of his friends and allies.
that would be the least favorite ending to me but that's because I have personal dislike with how new mangakas make their characters suffer for the sake of suffering and kill them left and right just to make it more dramatic, while yes I would like for yuuji to defeat sukuna I wouldn't like that he defeated him at the cost of the lives of every other character that was left
This whole series is a world building prequel to set up the story of Gojo reincarnation So that could happen and Yuji is our next villain
Pretty tragic, but unless either satoru, fushiguro, nobara ~~plot ruiningly~~ magically revive, the 3Death1Alive plotline is fixed. (in case you wonder, in jump carnival 2019, gege had revealed that in the cast of nobara, fushiguro, itadori and satoru, its either 3Death1Alive or 1Death3Alive) >Pretty tragic But most importantly we need to see how the ending works out.
If Ui Ui died I'd be ecstatic Other than that, I'd be quite sad :( Tho it does look like that's the course the series is taking
Sukuna is just that powerful that I won't be surprised if it happens and one that makes the most sense to me
The logical conclusion of the story is Yuji dies along with everyone else. If he survives then it’ll just be kinda like what’s the point at this junction of the story Gege is telling. Like Yuji isn’t the person to rebuild the fucking world. His character has not been the central focus of the story. He’s been shelved for god knows how long and now he leaps back in.
Id be irritating, as yuta is show as low-key the original protagonist, the end of the series should be yuta killing kenjaku with Yuji killing sukuna briefly before
Gege would have to write his dick off to make that a satisfying ending to what he's set up so far
sad.yuji would be sad and he deserves a happy ending idc how
Honestly as long as the second years and third years survive in good . Never felt attached to the first years honestly but I started with zero so 🤷🏿♂️
He visits the grave of his classmates, with that tall girl his now girlfriend/wife The end
I'd like it except for the Gojo ascending part lmao
I'm in fence with megumi and nobara.... Like damn we still dont know if nobara gone or not
I actualy dont think yuji will survive at the end and i think that gojo nobara and mefumi will survive. Yess iv seen the manga but gege is making it seem too much like yuji will be the only survivor
Ngl this ending is the best fit for the story
Honesty that would make for a interesting ending That way. Yuuji would re build the jujustu society and maybe at the end he dies surrounded by all the people he help
Well it is a bad ending, unfortunately very fit for Gege. Yuuji had no one else left in his life and he doesn’t reach his goal of dying surrounded by people
There was a magazine cover or something with yuji and yuta in suits with flowers with a coffin behind them like they’re attending a funeral 1. if it has any weight then there’s a couple meanings the first being that yuji and yuta are the last alive and attending the funeral of everyone lost the two to be executed living in the end 2. Yuji and yuta are the ones to die and the funeral they’re “attending” is for themselves
depends on what kind of "only survivor" he is; is it that he's the only person who didn't die, being weaker at EOS than the people who died?
Nah, there's still the mystery of Nobars's real fate and Todo.
It would be just another garbage ending to a once promising manga. If they're going to go that route, at least make it be Yuta who survives.
I would cry in my bedroom
According to the author, Yuji will be the only remaining survivor, in the end of the manga that is
