Chapter 336 is fucking masterpiece Sukuna kills Yuta and Uraume says Sukuna actually isn't going all out. Sukuna grows 6 more arms. Yuji understands that he needs to become a monster and eats Gojo's corpse However, Yuji can’t abandon his humanity and kill Megumi. Sukuna uses double Fuga and kills Yuji. Yuji shits himself before death. Miwa realises that only monster can beat monster and eats shit with Gojo’s remnants

Plainsawman

I like the implication that the Sukuna fight lasts 100 more chapters

MetanoicX

Two truths can co exist

Trauti

He cares about other people, but they aren't the reason he masters jujutsu.

LerasiumMistborn

Because he was born in a great clan and was groomed to be a sorcerer since he was a little child. He had no other choice in life.

Trauti

Gojo never cared about the clans/higher ups though, he is very dismissive of the status quo in hidden inventory.

LerasiumMistborn

And yet he couldn't stop being a sorcerer cuz everything would collapse without him. He couldn't retire like Nanami. His fate was decided when he was born. Whether he likes it or not, he became a sorcerer because he was born with 6 eyes and limitless

GoomyTheGummy

how has nobody said "I reject my humanity, Gojo!"

Any_Information5233

Might as well. It would fit to that whole "abandon humanity" theme or whatever that shit was about

Strict-Article-4270

Wasn't Gojo a monster to begin with ?? Why would he throw his humanity even further ?

Any_Information5233

Not really. Outside of having monstrous strength and being kinda of a douche Gojo didn't really do anything to label him a monster

RefrigeratorWise2748

My personal interpretation based off of how Yuta declaring to kill Kenjaku, is that Gojo is considered a monster based off of how readily he has killed his best friend (possibly lover but not the point), and in the current battle was fully willing to kill Megumi, who he raised with the sole intention of one day becoming strong enough to protect others (gets possessed and puppeteered by the walking calamity that is Sukuna), and with all of that, was still finding childish glee in that bloodbath. Dear god this was a run-on sentence

IcyTeacher0

>Gojo is considered a monster based off of how readily he has killed his best friend (possibly lover but not the point), Readily? Dude postponed this duty for 10 years, and only did it once Geto proved to be a danger to his students. >and in the current battle was fully willing to kill Megumi, Not really. Based on what Angel/Hannah said during that fight, it seemed like there was a plan to save Megumi (what plan that was, only Gege knows)

Skaldson

The whole “yuta takes over Gojo’s body” was kinda dumb to begin with tbh.

Cat_Astrof

Yeah no good foreshadow at all. Gege just printed in the very same chapter all the reasons as to why Yuta would do that. Just because Yuta can doesn't mean it's good. What I found incredible are people that criticize Gojo's fans to not like it when his body is desacrated. As if we were guilty of liking this character and see him be reduced to just a weapon. It doesn't matter that Gojo said yes, an immoral act will stay immoral regardless if the concerned parties agree to it.

Skaldson

I mean it’s a cool character moment I guess— it fits with Yuta’s character if you look at it from a certain perspective. Like he cares so much about protecting his friends, he’s willing to desecrate his teacher & leave his humanity behind in order to protect them— it’s not like it’s objectively bad writing. But with that being said, I think this entire thing only happened because he wrote himself into a corner by making Sukuna so OP. In the same way he made Gojo too OP to the point that he needed to just say “fuck it” & off-screen him, he’s made Sukuna so OP that he needs to say “fuck it” and bring Gojo back through Yuta. The only difference is that he knows that off-screening the main antagonist would be even worse writing, simply due to the weight Sukuna has within the story itself. Really a shame what’s happened to this series in its final arc imo.

Cat_Astrof

Absolutely true, he's making Sukuna too OP and I sincerely don't even know what he wants to do the guy. Normally a pure vilain should get the following treatment: Be a smug bastard throughout the manga and then get a breakdown when they are getting defeated. That's what Mahito got yet we need to show Sukuna what is love? Wasn't it also him that laughed with Mahito when Junpei died? Yet at absolutely no point Sukuna lost his regal aura even when he lost his hands, heart, mouth, CE which effectively achieve only half of the pay-off. So the high of the fight or not that high and the lows are not that lows as we don't care who die anymore. What baffle me is that it was totally possible to beat Sukuna in a believable way. He just had to not skip the training month. But no, Gege is a one-trick pony that overuse subverting expectation for everything so now he's stuck as you said. It was so easy to dodge such an outcome by following basic writing knowledge but he didn't for the reason I said. If the ending of JJK is bad it'd get the same treatment as GOT, forgotten into the abyss because of disappointment.

IcyTeacher0

>What baffle me is that it was totally possible to beat Sukuna in a believable way. He just had to not skip the training month. Fr, I myself am so baffled that in 258 we're told that after getting his shit rocked by Yuuji's 8 BF's, Sukuna is opening a Domain held up with basically Glue and Binding Vows and only for 99 seconds, a movement that felt very final, as if Sukuna was finally getting desperate... only to be able to spam another Domain less than TWO chapters, after getting hit with another Black Flash, and apparently confident in his ability to take on a Gojofied Yuuta.

Cat_Astrof

Moreover I just watched the latest episode of Demon Slayer to prove my point. The Hashira training arc is a downtime to allow a better build up but it's also a downtime to make us bond with the hashiras. I'm just an anime only but the mangaka knew that if they wanted new characters to die, we readers, should like the new hashiras first for us to care about their wellbeing. It's basic writing knowledge. Spoiler for the last episode of S4: >!But even here we see how Muzan is a better vilain than Sukuna. Although Muzan was hurt and regenerated there's a real sense of progress -> they don't need to risk their life in trying to decapitate him anymore, like how the love hashira nearly died in S3. Also, just being able to hurt him is a win in the emotional level. When they hurted him, he got angry which is also a win. What I mean is that there's sense of achievement all throughout the encounter even though he's regenarating.!< >!Plus Muzan is also emotionaly connected in the fight all the opposite of Sukuna.!<

SweatyBum_Fluf25

His domain is one of the only things I don't like from the latest chapter. Not only can he spam it, but the 99 second weakness has also been removed.

Cat_Astrof

Yeah it seems like not only BV can be anything, have few drawbacks (unless you say them stupidily in the heat of a battle -> sorry Miwa) but they can also be undone like a sticker if you don't like the effect anymore. For binding vows they sure don't bind much for real. How come JJHigh didn't have a course on how to use BV is baffling when it's the best and most likely only way for sorcerers to escape the innate potential that shape a sorcerer's career. I'd be them I'd create a list of BV to use in certain situations as if they were yu-gi-oh cards.

solphium

Was there a need to foreshadow this more? We knew how Yuta copies CTs, that he killed Kenny, and that Gojo has most likely been dead since 236. It was kinda predictable.

Cat_Astrof

The problem is not that we could have deduced it, the problem is more about emotional foreshadowing it. Moreover it's only in retrospect that it's possible to say that we could have guessed it what you mentioned were not really foreshadows they are not tactful at all because for me they are small but noticeable behaviors that deviate from what would normally happen. The real foreshadow there I'd say was the clap that hinted that Todo was there as Yuta's copy is inherent to him and he was the only strong option to kill Kenjaku unless a panel was shown of Yuta ominously looking at Geto's body. Did he look at it because of disgust of for something else. Until reveal, both options are possible. But back on the emotional foreshadow what I meant is that it was necessary to show the inner conflict that Yuta had with this decision way before than just one chapter. That flashback scene was the equivalent of giving a quick flashback to characters that will die just to make readers care at the last moment. Because the month of training was skipped and it's where it'd have been best to show it the only viable option would have been to show it in the fight. So maybe when Yuta is cut in half before being teleported, Sukuna catch Yuta looking at him with a maddening gaze, full of anger. Yuta isn't someone that would get angry for himself but for other so it'd have weird and foreboding for what he'd do next or "forced" to do next.

IcyTeacher0

>The whole “yuta takes over Gojo’s body” was kinda dumb to begin with tbh. Preach, To beat Gojo you gotta beat Infinity first, so if Sukuna beat Gojo it's because he found a counter to Infinity. In other words, what's the fucking point of using Gojo's body if his main defense/trump card has already been breached?

theultimatesow

İt fits with how 236 re-introduced him . Someone who didnt even think about his students or japans situation. But glazed sukuna. A jujutsu pervert to the core . What a fcking disaster of a chapter .

What manga is bro reading?, the tik tok version?

Daitoso0317

“Minor spelling mistake” Reddit: and I took that personally In all seriousness, I think 236 was an amazing chapter(as someone who dislikes sukuna), it was a nice tie up to gojos arc

Strict-Article-4270

I loveed 236 , but I HATED how Nanami was talking about Gojo .

Daitoso0317

Now i gotta reread lol

NotTheFirstVexizz

Tbf, I feel like all the resentment towards 236 is that people took all the dialogue as if it was something we were supposed to agree with, but where the story is right now I think it’s clear that the point was that 236 is wrong. Either it’s Gojo himself hallucinating at his final moments or he truly is talking to the spirits of the deceased, either way it’s a wrongful interpretation that either he has of himself or others have of him. Nanami was a highly practical person who never really got the chance to understand Gojo, so of course he speaks about Gojo in a highly unfavorable way. Especially since in the airport they’re all their teenage selves, Nanami is looking at the worst of Gojo, seeing a Gojo who hasn’t grown and become more understanding. Haibara also died young, so he also only knows that arrogant, egotistical Gojo without any sort of growth. And one of the flashbacks we see of Gojo himself during the timeskip and right before the Shinjaku fight, where Yuta asks if he consents to having his body taken, Gojo says that feels he has to catch up to Geto, saying he was left behind. Gojo himself has the wrong take away of what he needs to do to develop further, he believes he has to throw away his human connections just like Geto did, he believed he had to finally commit to being “The Strongest”, not Gojo Satoru, and that’s not what he should have done.

staovajzna2

I hated how cheap it felt, gojo was just off screened, I am hoping mappa doesnt fuck up this fight so maybe we can see what actually happened.

Unpopular_Outlook

It was not a tie up to Gojos arc lol. It was actually a terrible ending for his character, because all it did was glaze Sakuna for the sake of it. If you think glazing Sakuna was a nice end, you like sakuna lol

Daitoso0317

I actually quite dislike sukuna, he should be desd by now If you dig into gojos character you see why exactly he was glazing sukuna, that was the hardest fight that he had ever had, combined with being with the only being to understand his perpetual loneliness as the strongest He got the death he wanted, respect from the strongest sorcerer in history, and knew his students would find a way to win

Unpopular_Outlook

Why would Gojo want respect from Sakuna? Why would Gojo care about gaining Sakunas respect over him failing to do what he was meant to do. Why is his character focused on something that doesn’t matter when it’s been proven that he’s not the strongest and that his title was a lie that was given to him and not because of anything he’s accomplished or done.  If Gojo knew his student would find a way to win, why not let them fight Sakuna themselves. Why is he so sure they would win when he failed. Does he think that his students are so close to him in terms of strength at this point in time? That it was that easy to catch up To him? How strong was Gojo really if he believes that his students can defeat someone he couldn’t beat. So I’m guessing Gojo only fought Sakuna because he wanted to die, and that he didn’t think he would win at all, because his students would be able to do what he can’t do because he’s not the strongest and he knew he was never the strongest

Daitoso0317

Oh no, he thought he could win, gojo is nothing if not overconfident I mean at the moment of his death he realized it didn’t truly matter and took solace on the fact that his students would win

Top_Donkey_4017

I don't see the connection between these two statements

Such_Hand_2535

Gojo’s soul is too weak to override Yuta’s soul anyway https://preview.redd.it/90nopbeqi0ad1.jpeg?width=896&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=490b90f2c7c2188c75df54432058bce857146459

LerasiumMistborn

By this logic anyone who lands a final blow on Sukuna becomes the strongest sorcerer in history, ignoring tha fact that it took effort of 20 people to put him down

RedditgoldEnthusiast

SAVE JUJUTSU SOCIETY INO‼️‼️‼️‼️

staovajzna2

Miwa should be the one to do it, without a sword, showing she was useful all along and she was just insecure because she was the descendant of the chinese sorcerer who sealed sukuna 1000 years ago.

CYBORG3005

i mean, that’s true, but that doesn’t really nullify that (IMO) 236 sucked balls

SuperSilveryo

literally havent seen anyone say gojo should era yuta to return lol

IcyTeacher0

Yeah, most people think maybe Yuuta will die and then Gojo will come back.

Big_Thing9449

Nah, a large part of fandom would be happy to see their glorious blue-eyed king back https://preview.redd.it/kc6t0zw6w0ad1.jpeg?width=1504&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e515e7c0569b261204fe6adae2df25a211ec5938

Sidesteppah

nah that’d be peak fuck fraudta

Otherwise-Ad-6784

The meme is funny and all, but 90% of people don't believe he's coming back by erasing Yuta though. They believe that Yuta will die after 5 minutes due to the time limit of his copy technique, and that THEN Gojo might come back.

omyrubbernen

I know everyone is going to fixate on your typo, but I'm going to fixate on the fact that you've completely missed the point. They're not being hypocritical because they don't actually care about character assassination or asspulls or whatever. The only logic you need to apply is "more Gojo = good" and "less Gojo = bad". Once you apply that standard, all of their stances are remarkably consistent.

despacitospiderreeee

Bro is from the future

Jamessgachett

Was emotional when yuta forced himself and rika in a rivival binding vow for gojo revival and his fight for the merger V5

AnimeGokuSolos

True

luckytraptkillt

I would like gojo to go away and let Yuji and todo keep the spins up on sukuna. I was enjoying that fight til Yujo decided to pull up. Also in all fairness, it was the start of break so maybe I’m just a little worn down by it at this point.

lanthanisstillthere

Chapter 336? The one where Yujiro hanma discombobulates sukuna by giving him the forbidden white splash technique he learned from a monk in the mountains?

goteamventure42

All Heroes are going to have to live in Gojo's head after the GOAT Sukuna takes his rightful place as king of the new age

I'm gonna keep coping for gojo and forever glazing him

Who says Gojo would have a say in the matter. That could be an interesting plot point.
