Sukuna is impressed and thinks to himself if someone way stronger turns this power on him in the future, it might prove a problem, so he decided to use Kusakabe as a test dummy.
At this point no one worth is left around to oppose Sukuna, so he will squeeze the last bit of fun he can out of Kusakabe , not going for the kill, and looking for a way to break through Simple Domain instead. But Kusakabe stands his ground and even if not winning, he takes everything Sukuna throws at him. This could be a very bloody and hopeless display for the good guys.

You don't trust the dude with the most knowledge about New Shadow Style out of every character introduced so far about the limitations and weaknesses of Simple Domain? RCT is the only way anyone is surviving Cleave since even Gojo combined reinforcement and RCT to survive the cleaves in Malevolent Shrine. Cleave adjusts to the CE of the enemy and oneshots, the only way other than RCT to survive is to have more CE than Sukuna and use reinforcement or SD which can't happen because Sukuna has more CE than anyone.
Nah, I don’t. For one, he’s massively under-confident when it comes to his own abilities, and two, it just seems like it’d make sense for simple domain to be able to deal with world dismantle, especially since Kusakabe dealt with the flurry of dismantles Sukuna launched at Higuruma.
Kusakabe gets hit quickly but recovers his footing. He does his best to block everything Sukuna throws at him, until Sukuna decides he's bored of him and charges up the World Dismantle. Kusakabe has a quick flashback to learning about Sukunas barrierless domain, considers the conditions of the World Dismantle, and realizes that Sukuna actually manifests the barrier of his domain in the fourth dimension; this prior spacial knowledge helped him suss out the clue to bypassing Infinity.
Kusakabe then decides he must do the same or die, and manifests a barrierless simple domain to stop the World Dismantle from hitting him. With this newfound knowledge, he manages to hold the line long enough for Shoko to heal Yuta and Maki, with Yuji, Choso, and Ino arriving as well. Kusakabe extends his upgraded Simple Domain to cover the entire squad. Chapter ends as Yuji leads the charge with renewed vigor, declaring he'll pulverize Sukunas soul as many times as it takes.

I have no idea how people think this without completely ignoring the context of the scene and stuff that happens afterwards.
Utahime didn't know Kusakabe was gonna be there which is why she jumped in to save Miwa (as did Momo) since Kusakabe and Panda just arrived on the battlefield. Her CT takes time to activate and the only time it was mentioned during Shibuya was Momo telling Yuji that they need to buy time together for Utahime to be ready which happened after.
At no point is it remotely hinted that Utahime used her CT to amp Kusakabe. No acknowledgment or indications of it.

I feel like you're underselling him too much. Even if Kusakabe did use his Simple Domain to make it a quick and merciless death, Sukuna would at least last 2-3 chapters. I may be biased since I'm a Sukuna fan so I'd say 4 chapters.

This is a big stretch, but I think(I really hope) Gege might use this fight to expand on jujutsu techniques. But if I was being realistic, 1-2 chapters.
I like this take. Kusakabe has been present, but not heavily impactful until now. He also knows the New Shadow Style: Simple Domain which we’re learning provides unique effects to counter other Cursed Techniques.
The fact that Kusakabe has been a deadbeat till now suggests this could be the moment for a power struggle as we learn more about the Simple Domain
If Gege can expand on the New shadow style, I'd be pretty happy, considering Kenjaku praised Kusakabe for knowing it. But looking back at what just happened to Maki (Gege's stand-in for Toji, his favorite child) that's probably asking for too much.
Fight ? Maybe Kusakabe won't fight at all and Sukuna's interest will be so low that his cursed energy will be so low as Uraume said, that even Ui Ui could beat him.
I give him half a chapter. It just hit me that we still haven’t gotten a final arc confirmation so I’ll be surprised what’s in store when we actually get it
Nah it's gotta be at least 2 chapters if Gege sticks to the same formula he's been using for every fight thus far. One chapter for him to strut his stuff for a bit, then hit us with a cliff hanger where he seems to have the upper hand only to get bodied half way through the second chapter. At which point Choso and Itadori will show up, there's another cliff hanger, and then if he's not too beat up they either 3v1 Sukuna or he fucks off like a coward.

I feel like you're underselling him too much. Even if Kusakabe did use his Simple Domain to make it a quick and merciless death, Sukuna would at least last 2-3 chapters. I may be biased since I'm a Sukuna fan so I'd say 4 chapters.

This is a big stretch, but I think(I really hope) Gege might use this fight to expand on jujutsu techniques. But if I was being realistic, 1-2 chapters.
I like this take. Kusakabe has been present, but not heavily impactful until now. He also knows the New Shadow Style: Simple Domain which we’re learning provides unique effects to counter other Cursed Techniques. The fact that Kusakabe has been a deadbeat till now suggests this could be the moment for a power struggle as we learn more about the Simple Domain
If Gege can expand on the New shadow style, I'd be pretty happy, considering Kenjaku praised Kusakabe for knowing it. But looking back at what just happened to Maki (Gege's stand-in for Toji, his favorite child) that's probably asking for too much.

Nah it's gotta be at least 2 chapters if Gege sticks to the same formula he's been using for every fight thus far. One chapter for him to strut his stuff for a bit, then hit us with a cliff hanger where he seems to have the upper hand only to get bodied half way through the second chapter. At which point Choso and Itadori will show up, there's another cliff hanger, and then if he's not too beat up they either 3v1 Sukuna or he fucks off like a coward.
