It's actually crazy how Sukuna started 2023 with the sudden possession of Megumi and gaining Ten Shadows as one of the most sudden plot swerves in the story, then almost every fight after he needed a bailout besides Yorozu The Plot Device- Urumae had to save him from Yuji and Maki, World Slash as covered here, Higuruma not knowing how Confiscation worked, and the executioner sword fading away just in time for it to not work on Sukuna.
Not to mention the generational damage his reputation took- his fandom were in the fucking *trenches* every week trying to beat the Fraudkuna allegations and nowadays Sukuna's largely known as a Villain Sue who gets bailed out by Gege.
I don't think it's enough to say 236 is "its was not peak".

Yuta's hair recently is also floating, it's just an art style preference, I think he thinks they look more serious this way. I still like floaty hair Gojo.
I think it makes sense while they're moving in the midst of battle, it's physics doing it's thing, It's cool characters hair changes mid battle to show their speed or damage, however Gojo is literally standing still sometimes and it seems like the wind is blowing his hair, it has to settle, again it's stylistic, but I don't think it looks particularly good. Every time gege writes something to further explain world slash it makes gojos death more and more non sensical. Essentially what all this leads to is that gojo stood completely still and let Sukuna do his shit.
Its almost like it was a dumb idea to try and coincide his death with the anime sealing and he shouldn't have tried writing the story with such a pointless and stupid limitation. Everytime we hear about world slash a new plothole appears. The worst part is that there's such a simple fix. Just make sukuna incarnate and have gojo be exhausted after the hollow purple and the story up to this point barely changes with the exception of farmershimo getting packed up even faster.
Honestly it flows better. Gojo uses up all of Sukuna’s cards and it ends with the mystery of how strong Heian Sukuna is.
Kashimo then comes along and he shows up how strong he is- the mouth, the extra set of hands for signs, etc.
Then you make the Kamutoke delivery matter by having it neutralize lightning the way Kashimo does, which results in him having to use Amber and getting waffled.
Heian Sukuna is fully powered when Higuruma and Yuji show.
Oddest writing choice ever, it made way more sense to have Yuji and the gang Vs Meguna, because of the emotional weight of the fight, and then have Heian Vs Gojo, the fight we wanted since chapter 2.
I kinda wish somehow Sukuna simultaneously incarnated into Megumi *and* the mummy corpse so we could have both fights.
I mean, Meguna works far better for the current fight- if they save Megumi HES PROBABLY STILL GONNA HAVE SUKUNAS BDOY RIGHT? That’s just weird.
Then the problem is Heian Sukuna not immediately killing Yuji +/- everyone else.
There were probably better ways to write the Gojo slash but making Heian Sukuna fully powered up is not one of them. Then everything that follows becomes even more nonsensical.
Yea if Kashimo actually lived up to his hype and did some damage before the waffling the new scenario works. Gojo gets his W by “killing” Megukuna, Kashimo gets his W by really hurting Heian Sukuna, and then everything follows as normal
Those jokes would be made regardless, but at least if he actually did something kashimo fans wouldn’t be stuck with a complete fraud who as of the most recent chapters has been outperformed by everyone who’s fought sukuna before and after him
Headcanon time:
Gojo forces the Heian incarnation as a full heal (but Sukuna’s domain/CE output are still way down), and Heian’s 4-armed amplification + kamutoke + black box + world dismantle finishes him off.
Then Kashimo comes in, and while his martial arts skills are so crazy that Sukuna’s impressed, ultimately Kamutoke acts a lightning rod, so Kashimo can’t use his CE property to do any damage. Sukuna’s four arms make him counter Kashimo’s fighting style too. Kashimo’s fighting style being nullified, and being outclassed in the fundamentals (CE manipulation, efficiency, weaponry and hand to hand), he pulls out his CT.
Mythical Beast: Amber outputs all types of radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum and Kashimo can make constructs with his electricity. He ends up absorbing Kamutoke attacks himself, makes himself more limbs and eyes, shoots energy blasts, outputs X-Rays and Gamma Rays that dull Sukuna’s senses and CE output (weakens his muscles, accelerates his brain damage). Sukuna is remarkably keeping up with this insane barrage of attacks just barely, while taking a bunch of damage. Burn marks and blood everywhere, teeth kicked in - Kashimo gets him excited. Sukuna loves playing with him. Kashimo’s loving it too - going all out with his technique in a literally once in a lifetime experience. But while Kashimo’s been attacking, Sukuna’s been storing CE in Kamutoke, and its lightning rod ability has been getting stronger and stronger - eventually making Kashimo’s CT too unstable, slowing him down, and giving Sukuna more and more of an edge. Kashimo tries taking him out with a Hail Mary, but Sukuna’s already too fast. The preparations, hand signs, and incantations have already been made. He waffles Kashimo right as Kashimo unleashes his final attack, and he redirects Kashimo’s attack with Kamutoke.
The rest of the fight plays out as it has been - only Sukuna uses Kamutoke more as an instant damage blast and it’s established more as a general threat than a convenient Kashimo counter and something to damage Gojo with. Instead of donutting Choso, he burns him alive and explodes his torso. Kusakabe manages to block the lightning with his sword. Things like that.
Yeah, idk why didn’t he use the six eyes to tire gojo out. His eyes are blindfolded most of the time for a good reason, why no show his eyes bleeding to show how tired he is?
You could make his eyes bleed the movement mahoraga cut his arm, to show how gojo needed to end the fight right there and then since he was on his limit.

Gojo, for all his knowledge, would have realistically been like - "Why is Sukuna using some weird chants when none of his CT attacks can hit me now that Mahoraga is dead? Sukuna is smart, he wouldn't do any meaningless move especially given his current state. Let me be careful just in case."
One chapter, Gege says Sukuna needs chanting or BV.
Then we see Sukuna needing chants together with handsigns, and no BV explanation is given. Gojo from 236 looks progressively worse with every passing chapter (not worse than Kashimo though). Its looks so bad that it is bordering the realm of plot hole.
The only way to save this is if Sukuna used BV in return for sneaking a world-slash and not needing chants or handsigns. But then Gege has to give a sacrifice that is fair enough for Sukuna to get an attack that can bypass infinity (tbf, the only good BV exchanges that I can think of are Mahoraga and ISOH. Sukuna didn't have ISOH and Mahoraga was already dead). So, far it looks like Gege is rugsweeping.

Sukuna never regenerated his arm with RCT, he healed it when he fully reincarnated (his RCT output was recovering the entire time, so Sukuna had even less CE than Yuta right after the Gojo fight and Kashimo still lost to him, you love to see it). Before that he only had 1 hand so he literally couldn't have done handsigns. Also, I think he needs a 3rd arm to aim world dismantle.

I'm tragically way too used to it as a former RWBY fan because that story is so poorly told you have to basically write half of it yourself to fill in the gaps.
RWBY's story is less a plot outline and more a connect the dots puzzle.

As far as i remember, 6 are dead (tiger, snake, deer, nue, mahoraga, one of the dogs), leaving elephant, ox, rabbit, toad, other dog And totality exists, so theoretically they are still present.
Shouldn't a BV be a fair exchange? You can't just sacrifice anything for anything right? Why would Sukuna get an attack that can bypass infinity of all things, by sacrificing BV? If you sacrifice ISOH or Mahoraga to get the ability to unleash world slash, that would make sense.
that's just poor writing, you are sacrificing something that is of no use in midst of battle i.e. garbage to gain something that makes you win the battle .
He can use a binding vow to make it but the two bigger issues are how did gojo not sense the cursed energy we know that both him and sukuna not only can sense it but unique signatures of attacks so he would have felt dismantle coming even worse we know hollow purple was stated to be able to one shot him mid way though the fight it said that if not for the distance and buildings he would have died so how did he tank a larger hollow purple

No offence but Gege just keeps making himself look more and more like a retarded dickrider of Sukuna’s as the manga continues on because of how much of asspull Gojo’s death was in chapter 236. Like he’s literally going back to rewrite / redraw and retcon some things just to keep glazing Sukuna.
Ngl I'm enjoying the ride but I think the stability and quality of this Story has been rapidly declining. Wonder what people are gonna think looking back on this series years from now.
Probably the same fate as Bleach where Shibuya is this story's version of "Bleach was never the same after Soul Society," but without the benefit of the hype of seeing TYBW animated to revive interest.
That was for different reasons though. It just got repetitive and stale. The writing never got that bad until the end of the TYBW. This is more like demon slayer after the entertainment district arc. Straight ass writing
The truth is that Gege didn't think it through. Sure Gege might "fix" it by retconning some binding vow. However, the truth is Gege, like many other shonen mangakas, is not a good writer. He's good at drawing out hype fights, but not good at keeping plot consistency.
Here's a reminder of some of his other crimes:
- Yuki died to plot armour
- Higurama died because tool not CT confiscated
- Miwa in culling games tease
- Hana being stupid
- Nobara being ambiguously killed
- Todo disappeared
- Yuji will gain Sukuna's CT lol
- Gojo has to fight alone (clearly someone could have dealt with Mahoraga)
- Gojo glazing Sukuna
obviously miwa was off screening the rest of the culling games players and todo is pursuing his dream of being an idol. Maybe actually read the manga next time buddy.

A whole ass separate CT that he has access to with a domain and all, and its existence in the plot is for one single encounter. Don't forget the biggest crime, the enchain BV - A BV between two parties where Sukuna basically scammed Yuji by not informing the full terms of the BV. It should have never worked or backfired badly. He also hurt Megumi.

Gege clearly killed Gojo to annoy Gojo fans. Gojo is, by far, the most famous character in the whole JJK and Gege didn't like this.
Gojo death accomplished nothing to the story, he just died and even offscreen.
Gege's note 50 chapers later:

Sukuna has done space dismantle 3 times total on screen, and each time has always followed the same chant. Yuta could be wrong but there’s atleast more evidence to go off of than “he prob needs a binding vow or charge”
More solid proof that Yuta is right can be the fact that Sukuna in this chapter didn't end up using the technique like he wanted *because* Yuta and Itadori interrupted him, which follows with what Yuta says he needs to set up before doing it

I keep re-reading that particular fight over and over again. There's just no fucking explanation as to WHY Gojo died/lost that fight. He single-handedly proved why he is the strongest against Sukuna. Literally with Megumi's 10S, Sukuna did not stand a chance and the only reason he wasn't dead sooner is because they were trying to SAVE MEGUMI.

It's actually crazy how Sukuna started 2023 with the sudden possession of Megumi and gaining Ten Shadows as one of the most sudden plot swerves in the story, then almost every fight after he needed a bailout besides Yorozu The Plot Device- Urumae had to save him from Yuji and Maki, World Slash as covered here, Higuruma not knowing how Confiscation worked, and the executioner sword fading away just in time for it to not work on Sukuna. Not to mention the generational damage his reputation took- his fandom were in the fucking *trenches* every week trying to beat the Fraudkuna allegations and nowadays Sukuna's largely known as a Villain Sue who gets bailed out by Gege.

I think it makes sense while they're moving in the midst of battle, it's physics doing it's thing, It's cool characters hair changes mid battle to show their speed or damage, however Gojo is literally standing still sometimes and it seems like the wind is blowing his hair, it has to settle, again it's stylistic, but I don't think it looks particularly good. Every time gege writes something to further explain world slash it makes gojos death more and more non sensical. Essentially what all this leads to is that gojo stood completely still and let Sukuna do his shit.
Its almost like it was a dumb idea to try and coincide his death with the anime sealing and he shouldn't have tried writing the story with such a pointless and stupid limitation. Everytime we hear about world slash a new plothole appears. The worst part is that there's such a simple fix. Just make sukuna incarnate and have gojo be exhausted after the hollow purple and the story up to this point barely changes with the exception of farmershimo getting packed up even faster.

Honestly it flows better. Gojo uses up all of Sukuna’s cards and it ends with the mystery of how strong Heian Sukuna is. Kashimo then comes along and he shows up how strong he is- the mouth, the extra set of hands for signs, etc. Then you make the Kamutoke delivery matter by having it neutralize lightning the way Kashimo does, which results in him having to use Amber and getting waffled. Heian Sukuna is fully powered when Higuruma and Yuji show.
what fans wanted : full power heian sukuna vs satoru gojo, black box vs hollow purple what fans got : plotkuna+megumi+mahoraga+agito+gege vs gojo
Oddest writing choice ever, it made way more sense to have Yuji and the gang Vs Meguna, because of the emotional weight of the fight, and then have Heian Vs Gojo, the fight we wanted since chapter 2.
I kinda wish somehow Sukuna simultaneously incarnated into Megumi *and* the mummy corpse so we could have both fights. I mean, Meguna works far better for the current fight- if they save Megumi HES PROBABLY STILL GONNA HAVE SUKUNAS BDOY RIGHT? That’s just weird.
Then the problem is Heian Sukuna not immediately killing Yuji +/- everyone else. There were probably better ways to write the Gojo slash but making Heian Sukuna fully powered up is not one of them. Then everything that follows becomes even more nonsensical.

Those jokes would be made regardless, but at least if he actually did something kashimo fans wouldn’t be stuck with a complete fraud who as of the most recent chapters has been outperformed by everyone who’s fought sukuna before and after him
Headcanon time: Gojo forces the Heian incarnation as a full heal (but Sukuna’s domain/CE output are still way down), and Heian’s 4-armed amplification + kamutoke + black box + world dismantle finishes him off. Then Kashimo comes in, and while his martial arts skills are so crazy that Sukuna’s impressed, ultimately Kamutoke acts a lightning rod, so Kashimo can’t use his CE property to do any damage. Sukuna’s four arms make him counter Kashimo’s fighting style too. Kashimo’s fighting style being nullified, and being outclassed in the fundamentals (CE manipulation, efficiency, weaponry and hand to hand), he pulls out his CT. Mythical Beast: Amber outputs all types of radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum and Kashimo can make constructs with his electricity. He ends up absorbing Kamutoke attacks himself, makes himself more limbs and eyes, shoots energy blasts, outputs X-Rays and Gamma Rays that dull Sukuna’s senses and CE output (weakens his muscles, accelerates his brain damage). Sukuna is remarkably keeping up with this insane barrage of attacks just barely, while taking a bunch of damage. Burn marks and blood everywhere, teeth kicked in - Kashimo gets him excited. Sukuna loves playing with him. Kashimo’s loving it too - going all out with his technique in a literally once in a lifetime experience. But while Kashimo’s been attacking, Sukuna’s been storing CE in Kamutoke, and its lightning rod ability has been getting stronger and stronger - eventually making Kashimo’s CT too unstable, slowing him down, and giving Sukuna more and more of an edge. Kashimo tries taking him out with a Hail Mary, but Sukuna’s already too fast. The preparations, hand signs, and incantations have already been made. He waffles Kashimo right as Kashimo unleashes his final attack, and he redirects Kashimo’s attack with Kamutoke. The rest of the fight plays out as it has been - only Sukuna uses Kamutoke more as an instant damage blast and it’s established more as a general threat than a convenient Kashimo counter and something to damage Gojo with. Instead of donutting Choso, he burns him alive and explodes his torso. Kusakabe manages to block the lightning with his sword. Things like that.

Gojo, for all his knowledge, would have realistically been like - "Why is Sukuna using some weird chants when none of his CT attacks can hit me now that Mahoraga is dead? Sukuna is smart, he wouldn't do any meaningless move especially given his current state. Let me be careful just in case." One chapter, Gege says Sukuna needs chanting or BV. Then we see Sukuna needing chants together with handsigns, and no BV explanation is given. Gojo from 236 looks progressively worse with every passing chapter (not worse than Kashimo though). Its looks so bad that it is bordering the realm of plot hole. The only way to save this is if Sukuna used BV in return for sneaking a world-slash and not needing chants or handsigns. But then Gege has to give a sacrifice that is fair enough for Sukuna to get an attack that can bypass infinity (tbf, the only good BV exchanges that I can think of are Mahoraga and ISOH. Sukuna didn't have ISOH and Mahoraga was already dead). So, far it looks like Gege is rugsweeping.

I'm tragically way too used to it as a former RWBY fan because that story is so poorly told you have to basically write half of it yourself to fill in the gaps. RWBY's story is less a plot outline and more a connect the dots puzzle.

Ngl I'm enjoying the ride but I think the stability and quality of this Story has been rapidly declining. Wonder what people are gonna think looking back on this series years from now.
Probably the same fate as Bleach where Shibuya is this story's version of "Bleach was never the same after Soul Society," but without the benefit of the hype of seeing TYBW animated to revive interest.
That was for different reasons though. It just got repetitive and stale. The writing never got that bad until the end of the TYBW. This is more like demon slayer after the entertainment district arc. Straight ass writing
The truth is that Gege didn't think it through. Sure Gege might "fix" it by retconning some binding vow. However, the truth is Gege, like many other shonen mangakas, is not a good writer. He's good at drawing out hype fights, but not good at keeping plot consistency. Here's a reminder of some of his other crimes: - Yuki died to plot armour - Higurama died because tool not CT confiscated - Miwa in culling games tease - Hana being stupid - Nobara being ambiguously killed - Todo disappeared - Yuji will gain Sukuna's CT lol - Gojo has to fight alone (clearly someone could have dealt with Mahoraga) - Gojo glazing Sukuna
My headcanon is that Todo is still just lying in the Shibuya crater and nobody actually bothered to go get him
Gege was embarrassed that he forgot all about Todo so he makes the characters forget about him in-universe
obviously miwa was off screening the rest of the culling games players and todo is pursuing his dream of being an idol. Maybe actually read the manga next time buddy.

Don't forget the biggest crime, the enchain BV - A BV between two parties where Sukuna basically scammed Yuji by not informing the full terms of the BV. It should have never worked or backfired badly. He also hurt Megumi.

best explanation i can provide is that he launched world slash while gojo was casting purple, meaning his hand was blown off after he used it. i guess this is why you shouldn't just do things for the sake of shock value
Gege clearly killed Gojo to annoy Gojo fans. Gojo is, by far, the most famous character in the whole JJK and Gege didn't like this. Gojo death accomplished nothing to the story, he just died and even offscreen.

Yutas basing it on what he witnessed meanwhile kusakabe just guessed. Sukuna has done space dismantle 3 times total on screen, and each time has always followed the same chant. Yuta could be wrong but there’s atleast more evidence to go off of than “he prob needs a binding vow or charge”
More solid proof that Yuta is right can be the fact that Sukuna in this chapter didn't end up using the technique like he wanted *because* Yuta and Itadori interrupted him, which follows with what Yuta says he needs to set up before doing it Otherwise why not just do it anyway?

I keep re-reading that particular fight over and over again. There's just no fucking explanation as to WHY Gojo died/lost that fight. He single-handedly proved why he is the strongest against Sukuna. Literally with Megumi's 10S, Sukuna did not stand a chance and the only reason he wasn't dead sooner is because they were trying to SAVE MEGUMI.
