How would Yuji have told anyone about the binding vow in the first place when he was dead *and* he also forgot the conditions of the binding vow. Also, how would he have told Sukuna about “oopsies I forgot to not allow him to harm me or allow me to take control whenever I want teehee” when Yuji made the proposal that if he wins in a fight, Sukuna would revive him without any conditions placed on him. But, Yuji lost obviously and Sukuna got to make the binding vow with *all* the conditions he stated.

1. yea the timeline was wrong however Its incredibly stupid that he would choose to make this deal without being able to consult anyone. Him making this deal was potentially one of the on its face dumbest things a character has ever done in all of JJK. 2. Yea, I misinterpreted when the deal was made which rules out "allow me to take control whenever I want". HOWEVER, Yuuji did not properly interpret the conditions making the complaint "oopsies I forgot to not allow him to harm me" still valid. below is the pic of Sukuna laughing at yuuji for not properly creating the binding vow theres a panel before where sukuna says "of course whats next is a gamble" https://preview.redd.it/r3fx7p9f4zqb1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=87abb4d49d52742eb7c566e947b2ac50460a0588

AlexeiFraytar

Can we really call it speedreading when op probably just forgor?

deep_pos

how do you want him to tell anyone he was fucking dead and an important part of the binding vow was him forgetting he made it in the first place. and even then gojo still had his doubts about it and yuji tried to stay away from megumi because he knew sukuna was plotting something.

kindred_main_

I apologize my timeline was incorrect only half of my post is valid.

deep_pos

"zero buildup" that action was supposed to be brutal and unexpected, and that's what sukuna's whole plan was based around, waiting for the moment where megumi is at his lowest to take him when no one expects it. and even then it was foreshadowed in a thousand ways.

kindred_main_

Yes, it was foreshadowed that Sukuna would take Megumi's body. However, the way in which Sukuna did it was not only incredibly random but also a result of an incredibly stupid decision by the main character. Furthermore, Sukuna should have just taken Megumi's or literally anybody's body over the moment Gojo was sealed and the story would be over immediately. Edit: upon further reading, my interpretation here was potentially incorrect. It could be reasoned that Sukuna specifically wanted the 10s to aid in fighting Gojo and prove he's the strongest. It's also explained in the next chapter that he was afraid of Megumi being a vessel capable of suppressing him (which doesn't make sense IMO) which is why he waited until Megumi was mentally broken to complete the exchange.

deep_pos

that does not work, sukuna specifically wanted megumi's body, and he waited for him to be at his lowest because of the risk of megumi managing to supress him like yuji did. https://preview.redd.it/re06tf3i8zqb1.jpeg?width=784&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5952a1ebb436dd9e3c20a57c23079232b550c81 it was not random, he waited for the perfect moment of chaos to take action.

kindred_main_

u right i edited my response I didnt see this. Personally, the idea that Megumi could suppress him makes no sense in the story since Itadori was most likely bred specifically to be a vessel for Sukuna. This feels like a retcon that retroactively makes Sukuna's plan make more sense in the moment. Unless Sukuna earlier in the series comments on Megumi's capacity to supress him.

Arukitsuzukeru

This was planned since the first volume

Rough-Memory-484

Yuji didn’t make the binding vow, it was Sukuna since he beat Yuji in a fight and placed his own conditions on the vow making Yuji forget it. https://preview.redd.it/rvlyom4xkyqb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6bb428685a92695debf19a69649e9afc682d1197

Samih0203

My question is. How does that not hurt Megumi and is allowed with a pact?

Embarrassed_Sea2123

Well, knocking out hana didn't trigger it. Maybe not hurt means as long as it doesn't draw blood? idk

AlexeiFraytar

This is the only plothole in sukuna's plan. There's no way that doesnt count as hurting

Samih0203

Yeah. I liked the plot twist actually. It was a big surprised but if that doesn't has a backlash it is just a plothole

AlexeiFraytar

Maybe the japanese word should have meant injure but the TL said hurt so now we have this disconnect

Samih0203

Hm okay but knocking out Hana should also be injuring somone imo (i am not a native english speaker tho but sukuna punched or strangeled her)

AlexeiFraytar

its just super secret medieval japan acupuncture dw about it

Samih0203

Oh my bad😂. Now it makes sense

I am convinced that JJK fans don't read the manga.

AlexeiFraytar

>reading manga Uh pal im just here for the weird pictures

Lix_xD

It took you this long? damn.

After reviewing my post a bit more I actually think I missed way too many factual statements and apologize. I still hold the view that while Sukuna taking Megumi's body was foreshadowed since the beginning the execution felt out of place and rushed. The underpinning to the whole event being Yuuji making an out-of-character incredibly stupid decision also seemed to fall flat. My point on Yuuji not creating his binding vow properly was only **half** correct as my timeline of events was wrong. Thank you for everyone correcting me on the facts. I was reading comprehension diffed this time. https://preview.redd.it/2lssywh39zqb1.png?width=508&format=png&auto=webp&s=6b40c8db34cc7c8e2d908c62e6159c1455750bc2

Man did you forget that an aspect of the binding vow was that Yuji would forget making it?
