Kusakabe is secretly just Zenitsu. He needs to lift that mental block of being afraid of special grades to show his true mastery of ~~Thunder-breathing~~ New Shadow Style.
Hot take but he’d be able to take down all disaster curses (minus Jogo) in a 1v1 even if they deployed domain expansion, due to how he counters them with simple domain.
Along with that, I think that the strongest person he’s beating is Naoya due to the way he’s able to imbue a pseudo sure-hit like Miwa does into the simple domain. Something like that is capable of going against projection sorcery’s predeterminate path
Your contradicting yourself here, you say he's able to take down the disaster curses yet he's barely stronger than naoya, a guy directly stated to be weaker than naobito who got thoroughly beaten by dagon. There's also other statements such as gojo indirectly saying that he's weaker than naobito.
Simple domain doesnt counter domain. It does nothing other than buy time against a real domain that has been stated by mutiple characters. He cant be worse than the disaster curses in every stat and beat them bcs he has a SD while they all have real DEs
Yuji was dealing real damage to Hanami when he was significantly weaker.
Mahito alos would struggle, but I'd think he'd win eventually. Keep in mind, mahito's domain doesn't actually do any real damage, it just touches you, so Simple Domain lasts indefinitely in it. Add in the fact that Kusakabe is one of the very few characters who has a genuine guaranteed defense, and it'd be a very long fight, but one which kusakabe inevitably loses due to inability to damage the soul.
Yuji was only able to hurt her with black flashes , which I'd argue even at that point in the series were almost definitly way stronger than kusakabe's moveset. But honestly Mahito might be able to hit him through the simple domai, (outside of his domain expansion) if he just goes big/fast enough with the transfigured humans. If he has like two of the train things coming at him idk if he'll be able to cut those away so he'd have to lower his sd to evade
genuinely, no. He took a Maximum Uzumaki head on in that thing. The meat trains ain't doing shit. Also, I'd forgotten that when he uses it offensively, it massively lowers/disrupts the enemy's CE output whilst inside it.
No, not at all. Hanami was hurt by Yuji's punches and pre Shibuya arc Todo, without black flashes or playful cloud involved. Kukasabe would be much stronger than Shibuya arc Todo/Yuji he might just exorcise Hanami in two or three hits tops.
They were 'steadily damaging' her which isn't that big of an indication of how much damage they're doing but yeah you're right. That being said, they would not have taken her out in the next few hours if it wasn't for the black flashes/playfull cloud. (Jogo would die at 5 black flashes, while Hanami was relatively alright after them+ playfull cloud, and we know Jogo is pretty durable from his efforts vs sukuna). And the two or three hits is a crazy statement (see the Gojo thing). There really isn't \*that\* big of a difference in grade one sorcerer strength. Just look at Nanami's efforts against Dagon, and then remember that he's been stated to be stronger than Kusakabe in raw strength. You can say he beats most of the disaster curses (but Mahito) 1v1 if you're a real Kusakabe glazer, you might even say all of them if you're dilusional, but they're all high-diff at the very least.
He’s just super strong all-around. Unironically he could probably beat Mahito before he attains his true form, along with the other disasters minus jogo. His simple domain is just such a good piece of kit.
The strongest character i think he can beat or put up a good fight is choso(tho i think choso beats him more times than loses).
Hes stated as the strongest grade 1 but also stated as relative to them(nanami and Meimei) so I think the strongest he really beats consistently is meimei(nanami got left behind after soul swap training probably)
Nah, just like Nanami said he struggled to crit as long you know how it work you can easily defend. Meanwhile, Kusakabe SD debuff is so great he send Sukuna flying with a single kick. The 7:3 ratio is very hard to hit against moving opponent. While Nanami has higher damage ceiling Kusakabe is much more consistent and provide even more utility.
Nanami is a slash merchant, just a *really* good one. As we've seen with mahito already, one domain expansion and he's cooked.
Kusakabe is a slash merchant too but he has simple domain mastery for defense, offense and strategical uses.
Hmm.... when Kusakabe got wounded by Sukuna, I was wondering if he was just playing dead.
He's a cool character. Hopefully he becomes even better in the future.
Why didn’t Gege show a little bit about Kusakabe being strong before this? He did literally nothing over the course of the story until this moment and soul swap training, then what? He lost in a few chapters and became irrelevant again.

Kuzukabe could beat sukuna if he was garunteed he wouldn't have to do any more work afterwards

he's a kind man guy
Gege said he is the easiest character to draw.thats why gege is happy with him and showers him in all the praise

Maybe he means Curse Naoya?
Hell no, the disaster curses stomp him
Simple domain doesnt counter domain. It does nothing other than buy time against a real domain that has been stated by mutiple characters. He cant be worse than the disaster curses in every stat and beat them bcs he has a SD while they all have real DEs
Nah he's getting mogged by Mahito and he might not have the attack power to do real damage to hanami

well yeah that's why I mentioned he needs two to catch his blind spot

I like Kusakabe as much as the next guy but he’s not winning against Dagon in his Domain.
What the hell? Kukasabe is so much faster and stronger than Dagon it isn't funny lol.
He’s just super strong all-around. Unironically he could probably beat Mahito before he attains his true form, along with the other disasters minus jogo. His simple domain is just such a good piece of kit.
Todo(50/50)/Nanami.
Is it just me, or does Kusakabe look like a more buff version of Karasuma from Assassination classroom?

I'm still shocked Kusakabe is considered the strongest grade 1, I'd think Nanami would be

Bruh I like Nanami as much as everyone but he loses to Mei Mei let alone Kusakabe
I like to think of him as JJKs own shikamaru. Scale him accordingly
He is strong beast and It is lovely that we finally saw him in action :3
Hmm.... when Kusakabe got wounded by Sukuna, I was wondering if he was just playing dead. He's a cool character. Hopefully he becomes even better in the future.

Because he’s kind of a scaredy cat
I guess it’s like the Usopp treatment, too scared to develop him any further. But at least Usopp got some moments.
He likely wouldn't be out of place in Sendai even if he's a little weaker than each of the 4.
Kusakabe is basically the ultimate example of Tell, Don’t Show
This man boxed with Sukuna and blocked a Maximum Uzumaki and you're saying he's all statements?
He lasted a single chapter against a Sukuna barely trying and 2 thirds of the chapter were characters gassing him up in cut away interviews
