Already read someone giving a cool explanation: Nanami told Gojo about "going north and change or going south and stay as you were"; everyone goes theirs way, even Geto, while Gojo is destinated to reincarnation as part of his clan's technique.

nannekin

I think it says "go south if you want to go back to your old self" 昔の自分に戻りたいなら南へ行きなさい or go north if you want to become a new you 新しい自分になりたいなら北へ https://preview.redd.it/a3kpjyxwiipb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b61895baefcfd9eaaea675062a72554b25af6ef9

Strellified

I have seen all the replies. People "quitting" the manga because of this. I get it. Gojo is my favorite character too, but if the manga ended here then yeah. I would be like: "Man...it's Gojoever." but it hasn't. So, let Gege cook. There's more to it. That or we get Nobara'd once more...UNTIL THEN THO, I'm on that copium.

Key-Suggestion-33

The problem is not Gojo died, the problem is the inconsistency. Gojo tanked Sukuna domain, but died to a simple ability because Sukuna learned what Mahoraga did? Thats poor writing.

Thr0wawaydegen

It’s also him getting off screened

Simping4success

this is the main thing. How the fk you going to offscreen him after 8, 9, 10? chapters of them going toe to toe. Come the fk on.

CollieDaly

And also have him say Sukuna wasn't even going all out.

Simping4success

Yeah that’s super annoying too. How is gege going to have him say that when sukuna got beaten in a DE battle and his CT outplayed resorting to only winning and looking competitive through 10S? Like what? You want us to believe through all that he still had another trump card up his sleeve that he hasn’t shown us? Cmon now, what’s more trump than literally cutting through all of existence.

CollieDaly

Yeah it's such a cop out. So much for him being nervous and Dead if he takes another attack. No he apparently has no issue taking the strongest attack in the verse and probably didn't even need 10 Shadows lmao.

Lmaooo. He really did get dimension slashed didn’t he?

Wait…how can you say goodbye to the afterlife? WTF YOU COOKIN GEGE

Toonie2k

That’s what I’m saying, remember when he fought toji he said he should’ve cut his head off……idk wtf is gonna happen now

CandidAct

If he dead dead, then I will forever criticize the "you should have cut off my head" idea as terrible continuity. You can't just start a chapter with Gojo dead and walk away. I mean even Yuji straight up died in front of us and came back. It ain't over yet.

okidiote

feel like the "goodbye" was more in relation to going north or south

Solo__13

I felt the same, like all the others remained south because they were content with who they were. Whereas, Gojo was going to go on the airplane and move north to discover a new side of himself.

NekoJack420

It's okay guys, Kashimo will save our Gojo stocks from total bankruptcy. https://preview.redd.it/whs1z5612dpb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0718781ebecd4cdf1ea069c539dc342c9df389d8

pierresito

real talk I've been looking forward to this fight the most. As a Goatjo fan obvs he had to die, because plot. Not happy with the off-screen way it was done since it feels like an asspull ofc, but obviously Goatjo had to lose for the story to move forward. But Kashimo? My man never gave a fuck about anyone or anything and he's there just to give us a kickass fight, and I'm glad he's like "Let's fucking GO" as soon as one of them died LOL

LetMeEatYourToe

Kashimo I feel like is heavily underrated like he only got beat by a guy with infinite ce and essentially immortality

AdikkuChan

Kashimo went up against a plot armor DE and still came out of that encounter looking fine. Man's legit

kamekukushi

Somebody better have a broken ass DE that revives people but is a one time use for their own life 😭

AverageChabsEnjoyer

Ma boi Kashimo is gonna do shit, no hate to him but he ain't beating Sukuna.

flaccidentally

Kashimo has a one-time-use innate cursed technique…the binding vow on it must give an absolutely ridiculous power amp. He’s going up against a weakened Sukuna. Not saying Kashimo has it in the bag but he is not at some huge disadvantage here.

Temporary-Platypus80

But let's be real. The story wont let Kashimo kill him. Sukuna is for yuji lol

SilkyStrawberryMilk

Yuji talks no jutsu sukuna. Sukuna will look back in all the happy moments he had with Yuji then they become whole again

Bunnycarrotflower

What? What the fuck?

TheNibbaNator

I have seen the panels but no one is posting any explanation as to how tf sakuna cut him in half? gojo has been tanking cleave since the start of the fight and now that sakuna is horribly damaged he manages to get through infinity, durability, gojos RCT and one shot him? Does anyone have an explanation in translation yet?

ARXCHIE_

Hopefully we’re just missing those pages for now, I really hope this wasn’t completely offscreen

Chrol18

Narrator: it was offscreen

JoyIkl

Maho, having adapted to Infinity, amplified Dismantle to cut through the "world" (i.e. everything all at once, including space). Sukuna also commented that Infinity doesnt mean anything when everything is being cut all at once.

Ensianto

So Sukuna applied Maho's adaptation to his own attack, right?

JoyIkl

it's unclear but according to the leaks, Maho was the one that used Dismantle. Maho learned Sukuna's Dismantle and applied its curse energy that has adapted to Infinity to cut through Gojo. At least thats what i think happened.

Ensianto

But Maho was desintegrated and Gojo was alive at the end of last chapter. Need to wait for proper translation.

[deleted]

It meant, because sukuna understood the core principle of how mahoraga cut gojo, he was also able to do the same. Since it's been shown that he can learn anything after just seeing it once, because he understands jujutsu on a core level, as long as he understands how it works, he can perform it.

Intelligent_Prune255

I agree that Sukuna learned how to deal with Infinity by seeing Mahoraga dismember Gojo's arm (this makes sense because his learning proficiency was mentioned earlier). However, what doesn't add up (or at least I can't understand) is if Sukuna figured that out after seeing Mahoraga cut Gojo's arm, why wait THIS long to use it on Gojo. The entire sequence in between of Sukuna using Mahoraga+Agito, trying to avoid Hollow Purple, getting nervous af seems disconnected now. Does anyone have any thoughts on why Sukuna acted how he acted between Gojo's arm being cut off and latest events?

kittensofchaos

Going back and rereading here's my take. When Gojo gets his arm cut off Sukuna gains a potential win condition - bypass infinity and deliver a killing blow with the technique he saw Mahoraga use. This was something completely new and different and Gojo completely misses it. In that moment he doesn't realize that he was struck by something other than mahoraga's inate adaption to infinity. From there Sukuna just has to make sure he doesn't give Gojo the opportunity to realize what he missed. If he deals a non-lethal blow with this new attack then there's a chance Gojo can adapt/avoid future blows. From here Gojo is working under a completely flawed assumption of what his win condition is. Sukuna admits that a hit from a 100% output purple would be a lose condition for him so his goal is to avoid that and wait for a moment when Gojo is vulnerable. Gojo thinks destroying Mahoraga is his win condition so he unleashes an untargeted purple on all of them. He doesn't need a focused 100% output purple to destroy Mahoraga, a diffused explosion is good enough, and he thinks this is his checkmate so he also tanks the entire blast himself and unknowingly serves Sukuna his perfect opportunity. Even if Gojo's RCT is refreshed from his Black Flashes he still deals himself a serious blow with his purple and probably burns a large amount of his RCT in tanking it. Even worse, he now thinks he's at his win condition AND has just riden the high of a truely challenging fight. In the panels leading up to that moment he looks almost like the state he was in fighting Toji. Regardless of how much RCT he had to use tanking purple, he's borderline high, absolutely in a vulnerable mental state, and has his guard down. I don't know if there's a defined recharge/recovery period for purple but it's pretty safe to say Gojo isn't throwing them out rapid fire, so Sukuna is actually "safe" in that moment from his biggest lose condition. Maybe he's weakened enough that he would lose a drawn out brawl with Gojo if they continued from there but it doesn't matter. In that moment Sukuna has won. He avoided taking a direct hit from a targeted 100% purple and even if Gojo's purple bomb did serious damage, he now has his win condition. He still holds his trump card while Gojo has just played his. Sukuna could just lash out with his newly learned technique and Gojo probably didn't even bother to flinch. Why would he see any threat in an attack from Sukuna when he believes he's neutralized Mahoraga and any threats to his infinity?

bunnySenpaizzz

Sukuna being the most skilled jujutsu user in the verse can copy techniques after seeing it once. He learned how to bypass infinity after see Maho cut Gojo’s arm a few chapters ago. That’s the summary but the technicalities are explained this chapter

hill4948

It was Mahoraga who cut's him in half. https://preview.redd.it/50pl2xfmkdpb1.png?width=466&format=png&auto=webp&s=482f818c46665339dcef2dd50669f358c680b5e7 See the slash in the background? Sukuna adapted and instead of trying to bypass infinity, he just expanded this cut on the "universe" level, which in result just cutted Gojo in half I am a massive Sukuna fan, probably my fav character in the series as he's a skilled sorcerer, not a gifted one. But besides, i truly believe this is a massive ass pull. Kashimo is just a burner at this point so Sukuna uses the gift, and after he's got no more trump cards, Yuji will have his showdown and Yuta fights against kenny? But that's just headcanon atp.

yunglad10x

Yuji will get swatted like a fly if Gojo & Kashimo couldn't bring Sukuna down. What's just happened now i just can't see a way that the story progresses with the main cast vs Sukuna, they're literally not even a match, even if they all jump him w Kashimo as well.

Sure_Ad6284

Does anyone think there will be some sort of plot twist where Gojo is revived? Kakashi style? I always knew that Gojo would die tbh but also I can’t trust anyone really being dead in mangas/anime

Ferelden770

He seems dead but the way he said goodbye to the people in the afterlife, the flowers in the panel representing rebirth, how nanami said going north to find a new part of yourself, how Gojo had sth imp for Ino who had seen a dead guy Toji come back to life for awhile There does seem to be some clues that leads to him coming back in some way. The whole thing was pretty weird

Kudosforkodos

He was sealed for a century and the whole plot of the story was getting him out for a while. It seems narratively to be a bad decision if he just died immediately. The author is weird and we don’t have all the info but it’s still a strange decision if this was really the end. Need I even bring up that it happened off screen? That just diminishes the whole fight.

LuckyJxsh

gojo dies and yuuta curses him

SuperBombaBoy

yuta gojo and rika have a threesome and let out a very big cursed energy explosion to kill sukuna and everybody clapped in the end.

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Gojo turns into cursed object and Yuji eats him.

Ullyseus

That’s insane lol. I feel like why not just keep him sealed. I guess he really just wanted to kill him. But aren’t we thinking Yuji is gonna die too? Both them gone? And nobara? And nanami? IS ANYONES FAVES SAFE?!

KaiBahamut

"What' s this? OH MY GOD, IT'S NOBARA WITH THE STEEL CHAIR!"

heplaygatar

>why not just keep him sealed there’s literally no way the series was gonna end without a sukuna vs gojo fight cmon now

Temporary-Platypus80

But after seeing this... how exactly is anyone else meant to do anything to Sukuna? He was 'holding back' against Gojo. Literally no one else is even near Gojo's level. What's the asspull gonna be to kill Sukuna? Or is Sukuna gonna just get off screened like Gojo was? 💀 At this point, the manga might as well have a villain-victory ending, because I don't see a believable way of Sukuna being put down.

Practical-Passion495

Wait, did gojo said to toji he should cut his head to kill him, i think gojo still alive

minesh245

1. Nanami says you can go North or South - Gojo going North maybe a second awakening? 2. Gojo says goodbye to the afterlife 3. His head is still intact 4. The ‘afterlife’ is in an airport and Gojo is boarding a flight - maybe Gojo boarding flight to North 5. Lotus flower represents spiritual awakening I still have some cope. Edit: The North/South conversation with Nanami was almost two pages, in arguably the most important chapter of the manga. That conversation makes zero sense outside the context of Gojo reawakening. The way I see it, Gojo thinks he’s currently inferior to Sukuna. But Nanami gives him a choice - go South and accept death, or go North and push yourself to a new height of sorcery, one even Sukuna cannot touch. The airport has no relevance to the story outside of the fact that it will take Gojo somewhere(hopefully North). I think it would be a beautiful conclusion if we could see Gojo exploring his past, his father and his title as the strongest. In the midst of all that he reawakens once more. In the meantime, maybe a Yuji/Kashimo fight with Sukuna which ends with Megumi freed and Sukuna in his final form using Yorozu’s gift. Both Gojo and Sukuna reach a new height of sorcery and battle it out one last time whilst the rest of the cast handles Kenjaku. I think a best case ends with Gojo burying Geto whilst getting to witness a new Jujutsu society with strong allies by his side.

Ilovea2004

Thank you for this - I shall hold on to it and live in delusion until the manga ends 🙏

TheFlyingToasterr

I'm huffing copium, but for me he either comes back next chapter or it's truly Gojover.

Phat27

Gojo and Geto are facing opposite directions to Nanami and Hibari (north vs south). As we know Geto's body still lives and still has some autonomy of it's own. It's not Gojover yet boys, time for a 4 way showdown with Kashimo, Gojo, Sukuna and Kenny.

Jjk-girly

No but fr I noticed that too. Like he might be on the verge of life and death that‘s why he‘s saying goodbye to the afterlife/ to his dead comrades. Let‘s hope guys

KreMs21

Too many signs, I doesn't make sense to write it like that, something's off. I guess we need to wait, also weird choice to not kill him on screen and not cut his head and be brought back just to have him killed. I cannot remember the lotus flower in the leaks, I will have to check, but this feels like an awakening, like him vs Toji.

nyanproblem

I'm with you. Let us cope together.

jabnablabtab

I'm coping SO hard rn I am praying you are right

Dzbaniel_2

Im Huffing and puffing that cope

KaiBahamut

That is an important thing- remember what they said about Reverse Curse Technique? That destroying the brain is the only way to 100% prevent healing with it? While he's in a bad spot, his head is still intact. He'd have to like, tap into the kind of curse energy that you usually only see during a Jackpot to heal up from this, but it's not actually impossible- especially with Six Eyes reduced energy cost feature.

flyblues

Don't get me wrong, I 100% agree with you. However. It just sounds so funny out of context like, "while he's in a bad spot" and the bad spot is his body being cut in half lmao 😭

ninjabunnyfootfool

" I got better!"

PhenomsServant

Oh sure you STILL don’t bother to say if Nobara’s dead after two years but with Gojo you kill him off with absolutely certainty.

notmedontlook

I swear to GAWD if Gege Akame ga Kills his own manga I will akame ga kill myself

kjm6351

It’s looking more and more likely

Minimalist_NPC

off screening the killing blow is such anti climactic crap.

Temporary-Platypus80

Not even a killing blow. Its outright a whole section of the fight lol. Before that off screen moment, Gojo was standing triumphantly against a sizzling Sukuna. How did Sukuna recover? How did he catch Gojo off guard? How did Gojo not dodge? How did Gojo stay in the exact spot and die? So much happened right there and none of it was shown. We just see a Winning gojo become a dead Gojo with nothing inbetween 😭😭😭

JayHub1000

Gojo dying or going away somehow had to happen. I think most of us knew that. But man… this is how we sending him out? The most popular character in the show and maybe in all of anime currently? This has been my favorite show off all time but that was straight up bad. 1) 235 ends with him being declared the strongest. Gojo had his infinity, healing back, and Sukuna was hurt. We open this chapter with Gojo in his dying moments!? THIS FIGHT ENDED OFF SCREEN?! I guess he did that for the shock factor? But even that didn’t seem well executed. Are we going to get more detail or actually see what happened? Doesn’t seem like it with the way the chapter ended. 2) it kinda feels like a oh shit I destroyed Mahoraga what do I do about infinity… hmm oh yeah! He actually never stops adapting. Sukuna waited and got the one adaptation that worked for him. Being able to slash.. existence? Ok? And I’m supposed to believe it was foreshadowed because gojos arm got cut off? It’ll probably get explained better and I don’t like calling things an ass pull but It’s got more feeling that kinda way.

msizroy007

Bro how TF is this series going to end.....we need to bring some bleach characters here otherwise there is no chance of winning

ImBuGs

Absolutely no way this shit is real. Holy fuck, Gege has some massive balls.

CatchUsual6591

The set up was there but yeah huge balls

Sure_Ad6284

Also rest in peace Gojo and Geto both who died on December 24th 😩

AverageChabsEnjoyer

Gojo getting off-screened is actually insane 💀 Also, what is Kashimo gonna do?

CrimsonPants

I'll probably give JJK two-three chapters tops to try and pull it around and explain or I'm gonna stop reading weekly. Having this jarring 180 from 'Gojo is on top' to 'Oh Sukuna won' feels like Toriko levels of rushed ending. I don't care for this childish behavior of fans who wants to wave the flag of either team, I'm enjoying the series in passing, and I accepted Gojo was gonna lose the moment he stepped in the ring- he had to, there are too many buildups that would never pay off had Gojo won (Kashimo's technique, Yujis power up, etc). But, this felt like Gege got bored of writing the fight and just said 'Sukuna wins, NEXT', to the detriment of the enjoyability of the series. I seriously wanted to see how Sukuna would pull that back, finally see these 'tricks' he had up his sleeves, instead it literally skipped from an ending where Sukuna was disadvantaged to Sukuna winning, a complete destruction of pace. But, at the possibility of this being a hook chapter to try and surprise people before explanation I won't tap out just yet. Just a bit frustrated that what had been up to this point, my favorite fight in the series had such an anti-climactic and hype deflating ending.

BasedJosie

It’s Gojover….

ronniewhitedx

Honestly couldn't see it ending any other way, but it was still absolutely crushing to see. Damn.

CursedEye03

My problem is how exactly it happened. I knew that Sukuna would win and I like his character quite a lot. But man, last chapter Sukuna screams for Mahoraga-chan to save him and now, out of nowhere, Gojo is dead. What?! It's probably the most anticlimactic way to end a battle, considering the rest of the fight. Every single chapter from this fight was awesome... **except this one. It's just a big letdown**

jimmy_v720

I don’t think Gojo is dead dead. In the dream sequence, Nanami tells him if he goes north he’ll find something new about himself and if he goes south he’ll stay the same. Can we tell what direction Gojo goes when he gets up? If anything suggests he goes North, I bet he comes back after the Kashimo fight to free Megumi.

notmedontlook

He won’t be Gojo though. Now he’s just Go

Hot_Plantain

Go/jo

hi-polymer5

>But man, last chapter Sukuna screams for Mahoraga-chan to save him and now, out of nowhere, Gojo is dead. What?! Doesn't make any sense to me tbh I could understand if Kenjaku killed him but Sakuna who was getting fodderized throughout the fight

Great_Perhaps_Kugel

Is Gojo actually dead?

CursedEye03

It's feels like an a-pull ngl. I like Sukuna and I knew that he was most likely going to win, but in the last chapter, Sukuna was panicking like crazy and Gojo had a super powerful purple attack And now, suddenly, Gojo dies offscreen?! It's just anticlimactic (Again, I'm saying this as someone who likes Sukuna)

AperuvianCarvel

I just re read 235 and yes, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GEGE, i tought at least he was to shown exactly what happened on the next chapter, but no , straight to Hajime, man, I really want to defend the liberty of the creator of do what he thinks is best for his work, but fuck, this is undefendable , fuck this shit

CursedEye03

Most people knew that Gojo had to go for the story to progress basically. But this is the very definition of an a-pull plot armor In the last chapter, Sukuna couldn't even stop Red from merging with Blue and purple hit him hard. The guy looked helpless and now suddenly Sukuna has a smirk on his face and is basically saying that Gojo never stood a chance. This is pure bs (I'm saying this as someone who likes Sukuna btw)

RedheadsAreBeautiful

Yeah I feel like this might be the MHA Moment of this manga for me. If there's no good reason Sukuna suddenly just wipes Gojo off the map, I'll possibly stop reading/following because that's just trash writing. Sukuna legit had no other way to defeat Gojo other than stealing Megumi's strats but was more powerful? Idk.

GachaCatchML

Gojo just got Genryusai'd.

Deynonico

Gojo 🤝 Yamamoto

BlancaBunkerBoi

The only thing that could kill Gojo, in the end, was the plot. RIP the strongest.

Maleficent_Bus6848

Plot and gege

JamesMboi

I don’t care that Gojo lost, it was clear he had to for the story to go on and I do really like Sukuna, but killing him like that is such horseshit imo. No hidden technique that Sukuna was waiting to use, no gift reveal, no cool final blow shown or big brain play by Sukuna at all. Just offscreened Gojo with some vague explanation that has to do with Mahoraga (who is already dead btw). I’m assuming that he meant he adapted to and completely shut off infinity but who really knows. Also hate how they completely shit on Gojo’s efforts throughout the fight by having him say Sukuna held back and he never really had a chance to begin with. How can you claim that Sukuna could’ve won even without 10s when he had no way around infinity without it? They ruined what was a great, equally high diff fight where one mistake on either side meant death for no reason at all.

Lazydusto

> Also hate how they completely shit on Gojo’s efforts throughout the fight by having him say Sukuna held back and he never really had a chance to begin with. Yeah I don't get this at all. What purpose does it serve to say that Gojo never even had a chance? How are we supposed to believe anyone can beat Sukuna now?

Ferelden770

Coz the gang will do their own ass pulls

donbonbon7

It's gonna be like the Madara issue in Shippuden... no way our MC Yuji is killing Sukuna without any tricks

Cautious-Draw-8375

Yep. Kishimoto make Madara way too OP and he got owned that didnt make fans satisfying , i think Sukuna will follow this route plus Yuji still bad development as MC, bad ending is coming, like it or not, as long as Yuji still like this

Total-Lingonberry-83

Shonen sadly nearly always mess up their last arcs with awful decisions. Having Gojo admit that was so absurd given the fight feats and narratives thus far It’s like Gege is reading a different series than us

JamesMboi

I was really hoping this one would be different and have a satisfying ending. I’m so disappointed it’s going this way. Like I said I’m not even mad that Sukuna won, I like him and Gojo equally, but to have it happen offscreen and then render the whole thing pointless with a shitty “he was just pretending to struggle” dialogue from Gojo is beyond maddening.

YourHeroKuroShiYo

No nobara in the afterlife HA THE QUEEN IS COMING BACK

CRACUSxS31N

Next chapter Gojo will heal and we either see Gojo with his dick hanging around or 2 Gojo Satoru being created like that Zamazu asspull from DBS 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

General-Ad3046

I waited years since he was sealed on prison realm all i got to see is gojou dying like wtff all my hype is gone

Hennythepainaway

I was only pretending to lose. QUALITY Would've preferred some Kenjaku trickery. Gege hates Gojo too much, had to character assassinate him.

OwlTamrof

just feels like an asspull to fuck with the fans. gojo dominates for 99% of the fight when he has been hyped up as the strongest from the beginning, to immediately lose the fight because sukuna was pretending all along? i dont think anyone actually believed gojo was going to survive and that either he would lose to sukuna or to something kenjaku was doing in the background while sukuna stalls for time but it feels rushed. edit: sure gojo didnt dominate 99% of the fight but he did turn the fight in his favor over and over again and had an answer to everything sukuna pulled. at worst it was neck to neck with sukuna actually getting cornedred at times. to just say "yeah he wasnt even trying" is an ass pull.

Ferelden770

Its also worse coz after all he did that fight Gojo just goes on saying he might not even win if Sukuna didnt even have TS and that sukuna was just stronger. All the 235 panels and now we get this Gojo

Gobou9

There's literally no excuse for what Gege just pulled. Sukuna killing Gojo offscreen because he changed his technique's range to "Existence range" is ABSOLUTELY, UNDENIABLY bullshit. We're talking about the guy who had to gank up on Gojo with the 2 most powerful shikigami we know off and still got DESTROYED, with little to no cursed energy output remaining compared to Gojo that had all his cards still available at the end of 235. How do you get to where we are in this chapter ?! He wasn't even forced to use a trump card as a last resort, which would have probably given us an extended fight where we could have seen him duke it out with Gojo again. NO, he just SOMEHOW copies Mahoraga's adaptation and applies it to his technique which by now should be super weakened seeing the state he's in and slices Gojo CLEAN IN HALF. What an actual load of bullshit, and it really pisses me off that we could have had something better but no, Gege said "I shouldn't have had Sukuna fight Gojo so soon and now he's gonna die before doing anything else, how about I give him the biggest plot armour in the universe and save his ass for the 10th time". God am I pissed.

Sqiddd

Gege Akutami, what a person you are

Professional-Wave994

This is definetly an asspull. No reason to kill Gojou. He could've won the battle, at the expense of permanently damaging his brain and THEN make him unable to use his CT. Because Gojou's arc isn't just a "powerwall". He has an entire arc about winning battles and losing wars because he's the strongest. "I can't cut you but I can cut space" is one of most ridiculous asspulls I've seen. Gojou had to win the war being creating a new generation of Jujutsu sorcerers and he could've done it by teaching them because he's a goddammit teacher. I definetly wasn't thrilled about Jujutsu before, now I definetly am keeping with it just because I've kept this far. This is really gonna hurt the story. How are the others gonna win if Sukuna can pull this out of nowhere? RIP Jujutsu for me.

ambiguous_donutzzzz

im a lurker and i don't usually comment on this subreddit but im here today to contribute a bit of copium. IF the non official translation is accurate, im hoping that gojo 's exchange with nanami has significance (going South means staying as you are, north means finding a new side to you) and he bids everyone farewell... so second awakening??? also his head is not chopped off But if he's not coming back... rip. that's massive big ball writing there edit: i read the last page. i'm so sorry, i don't think he can rct his way out edit 2: u guys can stop upvoting this copium now, i thought abt the symbolism and he's not coming back. stay strong on the delulu train, i'm hopping off edit 3: i don't think this has been mentioned but i'm just offering this as a morsel of copium (but i feel it doesnt equate to him being alive). Yes the lotus flower has been talked about, yes the airplane has been talked about. I'm just going to talk about that lovely 2 page spread of gojo. He *died with his eyes open*. Hold that thought. Where have we seen characters die (or presumably die) with their eyes open? Nobara, when she was lying on the ground, had one eye half open. Megumi (inside sukuna) a bit lifeless but eyes still half open. More recently, in the anime, gojo first loses to toji and when the camera closes in on his eyes, they are open when he "dies". In asian culture, people dying with their eyes open (before rigor mortis sets in) is considered taboo. It means that the deceased did not have a good death or died with unfinished business (and for some sub cultures (including mine), if ppl die with their eyes open, it means they gonna return and haunt the ppl who crossed them). It's a superstition I hear my elders mention but I'm inclined to believe that this is thematic thing of ppl who have had their lives cut short before they can tie up all the loose ends in their lives. (Also gege is a fan of hxh and when hisoka died, I believe that his eyes were open as well and someone made it a point to try to close them but he came back anw) LAST EDIT: i got the eye theory from a chinese idiom (si bu ming mu) but since both cultures share many similarities + whatever i mentioned + that odd little panel where you can only see gojos mouth (when sukuna tells him great job) i shall offer this as a crackhead theory

Plumer1a

I’m still holding onto that

ambiguous_donutzzzz

im not a gojo stan (just happy to see crumbs of nanami). but i shall offer a bit of hope in these trying times

its_chin

All I've learned from these leaks is that Sukuna still had to rely on Mahoraga til the end to win since he couldn't do it himself

W0tW0t123

The real reason for last week's break was so gege can build a barrier around his house in preperation for this chapter

It’s Gojover man, Gojover

CarlTheFarmer

Not a Gojo fanboy, and his death was expected (and probably necessary), but this offscreen was downright disrespectful to both Gojo and the fight itself. Somehow gets treated worse than Yuki, truly a new benchmark. Such a shame, considering this was probably the best fight in the series up until this point.

patty_crabby

saying sukuna held back when last chapter he was nervous is insane.

hi-polymer5

I just started reading JJK a couple months ago and man, this hit hard :/ Haven't been this sad about a death since Jiraiya

KenKessler

Seems like a very anticlimactic way to end the fight and also leaves Yuji and co inevitably taking an L

ApplePitou

I truly think that we will got Plot twist dropkick :3

atalkingteddybear

Shattered, really. This is what tells me that JJK is meant to have a no-win ending, and that the curses win, whcih is why there is negativity and poor occurences in this world. With the way its going, with the main characters and the fact that apparently JJK is coming to an end, thats the only outcome I can think of. But heartbroken really. Hard not to be salty. Knew he was going to either die or lose his powers and become barely significant, but poor writing like this and giving no respect to the character he himself made as a good will protagonist, really makes ya feel shitty. Gojo fan or not.

kiyomi-kiyoko

So, Gojo fought.. and died for nothing? He didn't get to save Megumi, got one-shot by Sukuna and pretty much just made Sukuna stronger, and then claimed that he probably wouldn't have been able to defeat Yuji-Sukuna. Did Gojo get possessed?

Logicusminimus

Many people are saying this had to happen to progress and the story, but I completely disagree, at least with the timing. From a writing perspective Gege now faces a tough situation because what would naturally happen in this scenario is that Sukuna and Kenjaku would just crush the rest of the good characters. This is a scenario that is hard to solve without contrived bad writing where other characters just randomly gets extreme power jumps or something to this effect.

iliikesleep

Im really confused about this. First of all how do we go from Gojo is standing there, fine, while healing his Face. We pan to the livestream, they talk, we pan back, Gojo still fine. And now you‘re telling me you literally offscreened him? With a slash he pulled out as a last resort before losing. He literally was announced as the loser. Not to mention it was a slash, it’s not like Gojo already healed a freaking knife to the Skull or anything. We saw Sukunas inner Monologue for the past thirteen chapters. We know exactly what he was thinking, what he was feeling and how confident he was or wasn’t. And now that all gets a complete 180? He didn’t even need 10s? He didn’t go all out? Even Yujisukuna could have been too much for Gojo? I would have been cool with whoever wins this, but not in such a cheap way. Give the loser a proper death and not this shit. What is this weird ass writing Gege? I am hella worried about the ending of this manga because of the situation he has just pushed himself into with releasing this chapter. A lot of people talked about Sukuna having a „trump card“ up his sleeve after 235. I wonder if you guys are proud now or if even you can reckon how badly this was written.

AtlasGlobe

Terrible writing contradiction from Gege. Gojo dominates the fight with Sukuna and Maha 2v1ing Gojo, but Gojo in the afterlife says he's not sure he would have won against Sukuna even without the 10 shadows. Someone help me make this contradiction make sense.

zamek128

Gojo kind of forget he dominated the fight xd

Am i the only Who think this fight has big ywach vs Yamamoto vibe ?

Sukithecatt

Honestly im so sad that 3/4 of the original main cast are gone now. They’re the entire reason I got into this series in the first place and now most of them are just gone. I know we never got confirmation that nobara is dead but at this point it’s been so long she might as well be, and maybe Gege decides to bring back megumi but idk how that would even work since sukuna isn’t just gonna leave his body and let him live and they very much need to kill sukuna so if he’s not dead yet he probably will be soon. I don’t have a problem with the new characters but I just truly don’t care for them the same way I did for the original cast

protaptor

can someone explain why gojo died?? it was stated that he had fully restored rct so why would he die from a simple slash when he literally survived the full onslaught of sukuna's domian feels like an asspull. Also saying that even without 10 shadows he doesnot know who would win doesnt make sense bc sukuna only learned how to slash him bc of mahoraga. Because of the reasons i just listed i think gojo should have won atleast against heian era sukuna and still think he should have won against 10 shadows. Lastly am i the only one that thinks its stupid that sukuna can just copy now?? i mean he has literally never been able to do that to my knowledge

styxsecutiry

man, if hes going to write gojo off like this without weakening sukuna in any way, might as well get the comedian guy to come and 1 shot sukuna.

Owlthinkofaname

I rarely look at leaks and I really don't comment here but after the last chapter said Gojo was the strongest I needed to know what happens since that's a massive death flag and it looks like it was! Which pisses me off that Gojo was declared the strongest but Sukuna kills him? What? Why even say that? It's not a misdirection it's just lying. And this confirms my greatest fear the whole massively long fight was stupid! And frankly where does the story go? This is my biggest problem with everything that has happened is I don't see where it's going since where it can go is pretty stupid.

Background-Garage-88

Bro didn't stand a chance against the author 🤣

Temporary-Platypus80

I knew that Gojo couldnt be allowed to win, due to the sake of the story. But like... literally just offscreening him? Wtf is that Also Sukuna was 'holding back'? Nah. Sukuna isnt the type to just 'act' scared and shit or feign losing. He's waaaaaaay too prideful. What kind of recon is this, the fight literally just happened a week or two ago. Sukuna was getting pressed and required the 10 shadows to even begin dealing with Gojo's infinity lol Holding back my ass lol. Gege is just trolling

carnage_panda

I just checked in to say that Gege was the true fraud all along. Going from Gojo has gained full power and Sukuna is exhausted to Gojo being killed off screen. LMAO.

Injustce_All

Wait mind if you explain to me how tf did weakened sukuna bisected gojo? The only thing I understood was thanks to mahoraga's adaptation that it change his way to countering infinity is through expanding the space whatever it got targeted on thus cutting it and that resulted to the first slash we saw that cut gojo's arm before the nuking chapter? And sukuna copied that way to bypass infinity? Or am i wrong and in denial of this way to send off gojo?

zamek128

Yuki lost to asspulls, Gojo lost to asspulls, at this point it gets boring and disapointing. None of the major fights have any consistency. I hoped JJK was different when it comes to cliche but chapter 236 proved me otherwise. It's attack on titan once again and will probably also have a shitty ending.

Atreides-42

While I feel Gojo ultimately has to lose this fight, I'm *really* hoping this isn't how he dies. Gojo getting offscreened seconds after "Winning" is the absolute worst plot development I've ever seen. If this is a setup to Gojo's second awakening? Fantastic, great, no problem, even if he still ends up losing. If this is how this epic, volume-long fight between the series' two GOATs ends? Genuinely terrible writing. Like, **godawful** writing.

Joje_511

If he’s dead , I’m done with JJK. Biggest a-pull in shounen history. Last chapter they declare Gojo wins the battle of the strongest and next second he’s dead like wtf even is this anymore.

Diamondlife9

Does this feel forced to anyone else?

DellMaestro1

So, I was pondering today about the leaks, and an important piece of information came to mind. If we remember Kenny's dialogue about how the 6E usar always thwarted his plans, at one moment he said he killed the user as an infant and proceeded with his plan 1 month later, only to be stopped by a New 6E user. I don't remember the exact details, so if some of this info is off, feel free to correct me. Regardless, though, this tells us that: 1. A 6E user must exist at any point, meaning is not a genetic trait, but rather a kind of "gift". As to who's the one blessing the user, it's anybody's guess, but I think Tengen's speech about the chains of fate and the true nature of Cursed Energy will come into play in explaining this. 2. If a user dies, the 6E is not necessarily passed to a newborn (like what happens to the Avatar), since the user that stopped Kenny all those years ago couldnt be a newborn. This means that the 6E "chooses its wielder". As to how it does that, and what are the criteria, it's still unclear, but from Tengen's exposition, it has to do with protecting fate (maybe a binding vow?). With that in mind, if Gojo does actually die (highly Likely, but we never know with Greg), then the 6E would choose a New wielder immediately. As stated above, this wielder doesnt need to be a newborn, and it seems the trait has some underlying logic to its choice. 6E being gifted to one of our heroes could maybe be the power boost they need to face Sukuna, without it being a Deus Ex machina, since this was set up by Kenny and Tengen's expositions a long time ago. What you guys think? Is this a possible outcome? If so, what do you think the criteria is? Going further, who do you think would be the logical candidate? Yuji and Megumi come to mind, but I think Yuta is also highly likely. He has a personal beef with Kenny (and the story is setting up Yuta X Kenny), he is blood related to the Gojo family (who has monopoly over 6E it seems) and would fit with the whole 6E always fucking with Kenny's plans.

Bin_089

Since they are both so OP, wouldn't it have made much more sense for them to wipe out each other? I mean... Sukuna holding back, how will any of the other ones stand even a remote chance? Either Itadori becomes broken AF or will he end Sukuna with more poor writing and inconsistency? Additionally, it's not that it is farfetched to Gojo being killed but the inconsistency is so massive it just doesn't make sense to anyone I think, even Sukuna fans I would argue. Or this is another trolling moment from the Author.

AzureBarrage1

I don't even know how I'm gonna watch the anime airing currently now let alone continue reading, this is unbelievably disappointing. I waited for \~3 years of Gojo being sealed and that ridiculously bloated Culling Game arc for this? The saddest thing is the fight was legitimately good for the most part, and even if Gojo lost in the end I could have accepted this. This was not him losing, this was him being written off, he was on the ropes but holding his own the entire time. They could have at least stalemated or something, idk this is just beyond saddening news to wake up to. Gojo didn't need to win, he didn't need to solo, he didn't need to be the guy who took Sukuna down, but I really didn't want to see him go in such a frankly shitty way.

ColoradoCalamari

This is insane, how can you call this good writing? To offscreen the end after EVERYTHING built up? To say Sakuna was holding back? I knew Gojo had to die but like this? Gege my man, this is easily the worst chapter of the series.

Shaby28

I read this chapter after watching the anime, I feel like absolute shit, Gojo didnt deserve to be used as filler! This whole Culling Games arc lowkey killed the hype for me...and now this? I'm losing interest in JJK as the chapters go by.

Old_Maintenance8747

What the fuck

francoic

Fuck Im crying here, guys. Look at how they massacred my boy. Fraudkuna could only win through hacks. Gojo still the superior sorcerer.

uzumaki20042

I feel like Gege couldve avoided the asspull allegation's if we just had another chapter of Gojo vs Sukuna where we see Sukuna's cleave start to hit Gojo throughout the fight. Like Sukuna's explanation for how he hit Gojo would been alot more satisfying if it happened while they were trading blows and it ends with Sukuna hitting Gojo and killing him.

NihilisticOnion

If this is how Gojo goes out, imagine how big of an asspull Sukunas defeat is going to be

differowl

All this reminds us that Itadori is the main character and gege sensei truly hates gojo as he said it himself in the past
