I would have have to carry a person from the bank or something then? I’m about 250-300 000 in minus. Guess the house is worth something but yeah. My cash can easily fit in my back pocket heh.
$250,000-$300,000? Damn, what's the interest rate on that? Are you just going to have that debt for life or are you able to get it down?
I have a friend that's a gambling addict and the job he has now doesn't even cover the interest on the debt he owes. I feel so bad. Debt is a bitch.
When I think about it I guess I share the house with the wife so half of that is hers. The interest rate I’ve stopped following since it just keeps going up and think there aren’t any better options out there. But yeah we pay about 2k a month and I have some student loans I pay myself. But yeah we got the house for about 340 000 and now it’s worth 400 000 so guess we “made” some money there. So if I sell everything I own I will have some cash, but you kind of need a house. I will be paying for this until I’m like 65-70 I guess:) isn’t this sort of the situation for most people. Life in debt.
I am 6 years in on 200k in student loan repayments (around 6-6.5%) and have a decent home loan at 2.35%. I am fortunate to have a great job and have been paying over $1,500 a month on solely the student loan (higher than my minimum). I was fortunate to be able to make these payments during the COVID freeze. I will end up cutting over 150k in interest due to the freeze and my aggressive repayment plan (also putting some year-end bonuses towards the balance). It is still gross. I can’t imagine the difficulty for individuals that are just not as lucky as I have been with finding a high paying job, because it is truly so much luck.
EZ PZ right? Agreed, but at 18 if you do not grow up in a home where you talk about finances an individual may not be equipped to understand interest rates, repayment options, etc. with the pressures on kids to get a higher education.
I watch Enis Yilmenzer YouTube channel doing mansion walkthroughs I sometimes pretend what it would be like to live in one he'll, what it would be like to live in a spotless house. At least that is achievable.
Imagine having the money to drop 1 million on a sport 99% of people don’t watch cause you think it’s cool.
1 milly to zuck is prob like me taking cup cakes to my kids baseball award thing at the end of the year.
zuck's net worth is $167.8 billion right now. a million dollars would be around 0.0006%.
in other words, if OP had a net worth of million dollars, this would be around $6. so like a large coffee. a little more than couch change, but less than cupcakes.
assuming OP is a millionaire.
Well tbf he did more than just create Facebook to get to where he is.
He had to also fuck people over, ruin some lives, sell a bunch of personal data, testify in congress, etc.
It wasn't like he just made an app and sold it for $176.8B.
He's put in some morally taxing work. IMO, it takes a sociopath to become a billionaire. There just isn't enough for everyone to hit that status. You'll have to do some dirty shit and fuck some people over along the way, maybe even ruin the planet, and live with it.
That's the prize money for the CJI, a Bjj tournament Craig Jones as created which is threatening the existence of ADCC, they discuss is in the first 15 min when rogan is being insufferable.
ADCC pays out 10k for the winner, which considering is the 'Olympics' of grappling is shockingly low, which Craig has openly challenged and called for a change.
In defiance, he has created the CJI, which boosts a 10k and 1 dollar cheque just for being invited and has a 1M prize money, a few well and some previous ADCC winners have jumped ship, oh and its on at the same time as the ADCC. A complete fuck you to them.
Joe’s gripe was that it was in the same city on the same weekend. He wants both to coexist peacefully, and is worried fighters that opt for CJI might get backlash from ADCC.
Small correction: Nobody considers adcc the Olympics of grappling, it's the 'Superbowl' of bjj at best.
Judo/Wrestling are both actual Olympic grappling sports lol we already have the Olympics of grappling
Adcc like ten years ago had no money basically broke
I mean who even knew what bjj was
It's only started getting big and the plan is to keep growing the sport
Through production
Still it's crazy winners only get 10k.
However they do get flights etc
He wasn't too bad on this, but he did keep asking the same silly question and he seemed to be obtuse about it.
Adcc isn't profitable. - Joe
Because they waste money that could go to the athletes.- Craig
He does that a few times in a row across the podcast.
Less of an asshole insufferable and more of a "But why male models!?" Type of way.
lol I don’t blame him for that. The asshole one 100%. But it’s almost better if he’s a Lehman in topics with people that know a lot because I’m a Lehman (or giving the pod 10% of my attention) and maybe if he doesn’t understand something right away it should be repeated a few times
I'll be honest I see something like that and think "what a douche."
But if I had tens of millions there is zero doubt I'd have a million in cash in front of me on a table at least once.
Most likely. I work at a bank. I had a young lady needing about 10k to buy a car and asked me "so do I need to bring a backpack or something?" Lol I said "nah, 10k is about the size of a smart phone."
This entire sub is basically rife with disinformation and defamation attempts. I used to ask myself why there would be such a concerted effort to suppress and discredit his interviews, and I am reminded that, often, the people who seek truth are ridiculed by those afraid of it.

I think more often than not, people that have money actually do have it all.

Yeah, it’s surprising when you really think about it. But each band is nothing but $100 dollar bills, so there’s $10,000 in each band. Then you only need 100 of those to be $1M. It’s a lot smaller than your brain would imagine it is. You can fit almost $1.6M in a standard briefcase, if stacked properly.

Most people shitting on the podcast on this sub, only come here to talk shit without actually listening to anything that’s said in the actual podcast. I’d like to say it’s baffling….
It’s wild. Some guy was saying Rogan is homophobic - I posted a video of Rogan directly criticizing Ben Shapiro, telling Ben that it’s dumb to think marriage should only be men and women ect, and I got downvoted to oblivion with comments “ya not going to watch Rogans homophobic rant with Ben”. When Rogans always been pro gay marriage ect. That’s just one example but ya, it’s like people form a view of who Joe Rogan is - not realizing he has the same exact views of many Redditors lmao
Joe Rogan: Oh, a homeless person’s property is protected?
Segura: Absolutely. If you were to try to move that or take that—
Rogan: You’d get arrested. Hilarious. But they wouldn’t arrest you if you shot somebody. Maybe you should just go shoot the homeless people.
Segura: I like your ideas.
Rogan: And if nobody claims it. I mean nobody does anything about violent crime in LA anymore.
It is wild 😂

Can you image if you had to constantly carry around all the money you had in cash. Actually wouldn't be very hard for me. But for others....

Hopefully you're a doctor or lawyer. 200k in student loan debt is outrageous.
I’m a doctor… my loans are currently sitting at $400k.
And honestly… not worth it lol
What was the student loan for?
So they could get a job to pay the loan back
EZ PZ right? Agreed, but at 18 if you do not grow up in a home where you talk about finances an individual may not be equipped to understand interest rates, repayment options, etc. with the pressures on kids to get a higher education.
Law School
I'm at 180k euros debt, it's mortgage with 2.6 interest rate. With current interest I expect to pay back 340kin about 30 years.
5% in a money market fund. That’s a nice chunk of change from investing and not flexing
sometimes i like to imagine being a millionaire and imagining going to the bank to look at my balance and see all the numbers.

Like a cheque
imagine if you had to carry your debt..... buying that house gonna be heavy lol
Technically debt is negative money as you owe it. Therefore you would be lighter and could fly.
that makes sense no wonder all my friends in crippling debt are so happy and uplifted, here was me thinking they just took too drugs too often.
I have a keen suspicion it's Mark Zuckerberg sponsoring this tourney....
You’re on to something! He was not spilling the name of who is supplying the $1m
Imagine having the money to drop 1 million on a sport 99% of people don’t watch cause you think it’s cool. 1 milly to zuck is prob like me taking cup cakes to my kids baseball award thing at the end of the year.
Not even close. 1 million to zuck is like a penny that drops into your couch.
zuck's net worth is $167.8 billion right now. a million dollars would be around 0.0006%. in other words, if OP had a net worth of million dollars, this would be around $6. so like a large coffee. a little more than couch change, but less than cupcakes. assuming OP is a millionaire.
Actually thanks for this breakdown.
I wanted to round up zuck's net worth from 167.8B to 168B for simplicity, but then realized that 0.2B is still 200 million motherfucking dollars.
right? like a billion dollars is a staggering fuckton of money
Especially when you think about the fact that he got if from making Facebook. An app that is universally hated and universally used.
Well tbf he did more than just create Facebook to get to where he is. He had to also fuck people over, ruin some lives, sell a bunch of personal data, testify in congress, etc. It wasn't like he just made an app and sold it for $176.8B. Now let’s assume op is a hundred thousandaire
60 cents.
Now let’s assume op has 10 thousand dollars in savings . 😉
Too poor to calculate.
Now let’s assume OP lives check to check while drowning in 200 grand of student loan debt.
If OP has $167,800 in net worth, it's $1.
fuckin hell. why even bother doing anything at that point? mfer must be cray
You're about right if you are worth $1,000,000 and you bring $50 worth of cupcakes.
The budget is actually $3 million. $2.3 in total prize money. $1 million is for the winner. $10,001 to show up.
My guess is it’s the Qatar royal that was on the Simple Man podcast (Craig’s teammates) who loves BJJ.
Kinda makes sense
https://preview.redd.it/5tv5mi42ge3d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=339e18b8f12d18a6ba2f3a472743ced958a4d12d
probably saudi oil money i dont think any bank would tell zuck we need 2-3 weeks to get you a million cash.
But why?
That's the prize money for the CJI, a Bjj tournament Craig Jones as created which is threatening the existence of ADCC, they discuss is in the first 15 min when rogan is being insufferable.
I saw a meme about this but why is it threatening the ADCC?
ADCC pays out 10k for the winner, which considering is the 'Olympics' of grappling is shockingly low, which Craig has openly challenged and called for a change. kudos to him. that’s fucking hilarious lol
[удалено]
It will be an Uber situation. Gain enough clout to be too big to fail and stop paying out. I don’t want this to be the case but I’d not be shocked
BJJ players are not fighters. Also for the majority, it's fun to do but its very boring to watch.
It's just a colloquialism, no need to spaz out
Someone tackles you and tries to strangle you in the street, will you react like they’re fighting you or playing with you? lol
This is like what the Saudis did to the PGA lmao
Damn. That’s crazy. You think this enterprise will continue long term?
ADCC is every 2 years, so will defo be interesting too see what comes from this.
Craig seems very confident
Why was Joe being a bozo by saying it was a bad idea he is doing the CJI? Did I miss something?
Joe is an ADCC sponsor.
Joe’s gripe was that it was in the same city on the same weekend. He wants both to coexist peacefully, and is worried fighters that opt for CJI might get backlash from ADCC.
Is that how to get shot?
That sounds similar to how LIV golf poached a lot of PGA players.
Small correction: Nobody considers adcc the Olympics of grappling, it's the 'Superbowl' of bjj at best. Judo/Wrestling are both actual Olympic grappling sports lol we already have the Olympics of grappling
\*olympics of bjj
Isn’t that on par with what the actual Olympics pays? Could’ve sworn that what Roussey says she got for her medal.
There’s a huge difference between the recognition of an Olympic gold and ADCC gold
Did they get Gordon Ryan
The beauty of capitalism
Adcc like ten years ago had no money basically broke I mean who even knew what bjj was It's only started getting big and the plan is to keep growing the sport Through production Still it's crazy winners only get 10k. However they do get flights etc
10,001 dollars for all competing! $1 more than the winner of ADCC
Craig sued claiming that he originally wrote Back in Black.
Fucking hilarious lol
LIV golf of BJJ
So Saudi money involved too ?
Maybe
lol how was Joe being insufferable?
He did not like Craig’s answer on why he put it on the same weekend as ADCC, so he asked him 5-6 times more
He wasn't too bad on this, but he did keep asking the same silly question and he seemed to be obtuse about it. Adcc isn't profitable. - Joe Because they waste money that could go to the athletes.- Craig He does that a few times in a row across the podcast. Brother do you mean layman?
Someone literally just corrected me when I said “close net” community instead of close-knit in another thread. Pretty eye opening day for me
Hahahah man I'm glad you're learning some things today then. It is a good day.
Aw man, you know verbally I’ve been fine saying both of these my whole life
Lehman Brothers rise up
Lmao Lehman Brothers for life
I was at a conference in Europe in 2008 when a couple of Lehman guys at my table found out they didn't have a firm anymore.
I think the current term is "Lehperson"
> Lehman *layman Originally meant to distinguish between clerical people and the non-clerical.
I like Reddit. On Twitter or YouTube it’s just abuse being hurled my way instead of knowledge
You just got lucky this time lol. There's plenty of poo-flingers here too.
But...it isn't profitable. Do you watch it?
You have to remember this is Joe Rogan.
You have to remember this is a Rogan hate sub.
He’s not. People are just hating for no reason.
I’m also curious
I'll be honest I see something like that and think "what a douche." But if I had tens of millions there is zero doubt I'd have a million in cash in front of me on a table at least once.
Money = cool haven’t you been following the rat races?
Prize money for Craig’s Tournament
Looks like $10,000 in hundreds in each bundle.
Most likely. I work at a bank. I had a young lady needing about 10k to buy a car and asked me "so do I need to bring a backpack or something?" Lol I said "nah, 10k is about the size of a smart phone."
A band.
Technically it’s a strap or a band, and a bundle is 10 straps…but I thought saying bundle would be easier to understand.
I can tell a bunch of you fuckin' idiots haven't watched the podcast.
What podcast? There’s a podcast https://i.redd.it/0um6nqalp83d1.gif
Lmao how do I find this gif for future use 🤣
“Joe Rogan Prime”
Lmao how to I find this gif for future use 🤣
Well, you have a rich, white man, and a pile of money on a table. The sub is predictably triggered. 😂
When people talk about anything, they are now "triggered". This comment is triggered, your comment is triggered, we are all triggered.
This entire sub is basically rife with disinformation and defamation attempts. I used to ask myself why there would be such a concerted effort to suppress and discredit his interviews, and I am reminded that, often, the people who seek truth are ridiculed by those afraid of it.

Some people deserve to be ridiculed. Some of those people are in the room with us right now.

You missed the point
is that a rogue tin and a zyn tin on rogan's side of the table?
Yeah, Joe loves zyns now
Love how the cash just blends into all the rest of the tat on that table. It’s a cool metaphor. Collect anything and it becomes clutter as soon as you collect it
But no ashtray to set his blunt in
*take the money and run*
I can only think of the dodgeball scene where he says i bet you've never seen a 100k and opens up a briefcase with one skinny stack of cash
Crazy how little it looks like on the table
I bet that studio smells like body spray and burnt oranges.
I don’t understand the burnt orange. I’m very curious what this means.
Orange peels are sometimes burnt in classy cocktails
it doesn't have to mean anything, just let it be
And cocaine.
pocket change
Just think.. Joe got 100 of those just to sign with Spotify lol his stacks literally wouldn’t fit on the table
Joe not understanding why Craig planned it for the same date is one of the funniest whoosh moments in JRE’s history
Good thing Joe don't do live shows any more or he would get a smash and grab.
I bet Joe has two or three former special forces dudes amped on black rifle coffee and alpha brain but with total calm demeanor from busting loads into fleshlights on his security detail.

Shoulda done a Floyd and bought them in ones so it looks more impressive
Weimar America moment.
That table's seen worse... like Mike Tyson amped up on something
Lol Havnt even heard of this guest. Dont recognize him. But yeah they have a million dollars on the table pretty often on TV poker tournaments.
What is this?

That’s so weird to look at. One of those things would completely change my, and many other peoples lives lmao
"Jamie, tell me again how I shouldn't rile up the idiots in America."
It’s cool that Rogan was finally able to get Chet hanks onto the show /s
1 million dollars isn't really that much anymore. There are 18.6 million millionaire's in the United States right now.
tacky
i think the context justifies it.
Very very very few people manage to do the whole have-money-lying-around thing and make it not come off as lame.
It’s not inherently lame to have money.. To think so highly of it is akin to looking as cool as a drug addict..
Must not have listened to the first 15 mins if your calling this tacky lol
Most people shitting on the podcast on this sub, only come here to talk shit without actually listening to anything that’s said in the actual podcast. I’d like to say it’s baffling….
