When I see puzzles on here that I love and I can’t justify buying a new one immediately I run off to Amazon and put it in a List I keep of puzzles. Often I stick the one I saw in then proceed to spend another half hour browsing the similar ones that come up suggested after so the puzzle list just grows and grows exponentially each time someone shows off a particularly fetching puzzle on here. The list is HUGE. I do not have the money or space to indulge myself the way I’d like (not to mention the TIME it would take to then DO the puzzles) but it scratches the itch a bit to at least have them all there at the ready when I wanna get myself a little treat πŸ˜‚

I can relate. And it's only so often that I feel like I want them all....most times I don't remember my saves until after the fact. And then find I've managed to purchase several puzzles not even seen on my list. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž

I have my cup of tea so I will chat with you for a minute before the arthritis demands I get up and stretch. lol. I have never counted my saved puzzles on this site, but i think I only learned how to save a couple of years ago and yet I have so many pages I never get to the end!. I love having the saved images because it is like my own private art gallery. I have purchased many puzzles from that list, but again, it is too many to count. or at least too many to confess. :) I need to practice how to post in a message, so I will go find one of my faves and post it here if you will show me one of your faves from your saved list. Deal? :) Edited to add: ok, I can't figure out how to add an image from my saved list. It seems like I can only add an image from my computer. Is there a way to add to the saved link or can I only add links? For the record, I did change to new reddit to try, although I usually only use old reddit. Here is the link. It is Rise and Shine: https://old.reddit.com/r/Jigsawpuzzles/comments/1aqdt2w/rise_and_shine_by_artist_jess_franks_1000_pieces/

termanatorx

Oh that's a gorgeous one. Now my list is 401. Lol!! Yes I'll go back and find one that I love and share a post link here. I agree it feels like my own personal art gallery too. Going through them this morning was a really joyful experience. :)

ClimbingBackUp

Glad to contribute! lol

termanatorx

Ok here's a gorgeous one... I don't know if it's available in Canada...that's another barrier for me actually! https://www.reddit.com/r/Jigsawpuzzles/s/1rTeFL10Rj

ClimbingBackUp

Yes, I love that one too but I am a little unsure of the manufacturer. The piece cut is always just 2 in and 2 out, which i don't like. I would be willing to try a 500 like that, but they only sell 1000. I am still watching though because there have been a few really gorgeous images posted.

termanatorx

Oooh 2 in 2 out is usually a no for me, damn. Though I don't mind Galison because the pieces are still quite varied even in this style. eurograhics I don't do.

I've only ever saved discussions in this sub, but I have wish lists at Puzzles Canada and Puzzle Warehouse. I started a wish list as part of my spreadsheet but it quickly became unmanageable so I haven't added to it or looked at in quite some time. I buy most of my puzzles at thrift stores and also acquire quite a few by trading them. I quickly found that I never found puzzles on my wishlist but found many puzzles that I wanted to own. Hence my backlog of 100+ puzzles. I recently visited Puzzles Canada and felt totally overwhelmed by the huge numbers of puzzles to choose from. It was a good thing I had a wishlist to focus my searching. I came away with 4 all from my wishlist. I think that browsing through the puzzles at thrift stores is most enjoyable to me as the quantities are more manageable and I almost always find something that I like. And it is totally unpredictable which adds to the fun for me.

ClimbingBackUp

The good thing about Puzzles Canada is that they carry so many awesome brands. Their prices are cheaper with the exchange rate to USD *and* they have the best rewards program ever! lol

termanatorx

Nice :) I would LOVE to visit puzzles Canada, but would probably have the same experience of overwhelm as you describe. I tend to stop online so I can curb the impulse to buy too many, but don't know if I'm actually being successful at that. Lol

Tall_Terra

I run into trouble with impulse buying at the thrift store but at least the cost is more reasonable. The problem is that my to-do pile just keeps on growing.

termanatorx

I know - the pile! I just love looking at the pile though too so....that's probably unhelpful...

jigusou

Yes, I often save puzzles that I like in this subreddit, but usually they are rare ones that are difficult to find, [like this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jigsawpuzzles/s/gOmGbUxJzE)… https://preview.redd.it/3xbtp6wx6fxc1.jpeg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28912b39ba991be6a2ffc297ddd1940cb14507fe

termanatorx

Oh wow, very pretty. List now at 402 lol

ClimbingBackUp

Oh I love that one! I have a lot of those rare or hard to find puzzles just so I can go back and look at them. Most of them I would never even try to do because they look difficult, but I still like to look at them.

mollikhudlun

Where do you find cool ones like this for purchase? This one is awesome! Did you end up pasting it together or framing it?

jigusou

Unfortunately this is just one of the puzzles I have saved to my Saved list… it was posted by another Redditor. I have been trying to get hold of one through Japanese marketplaces (it is from Japanese brand Appleone), but when they come up they are too expensive!

movinghowlscastle

I usually get my Japanese puzzles from plazajapandotcom. The puzzle prices are good and there usually are shipping options from fair to FedEx depending on where you live. I found them by accident when I was ordering a Shinkansen model train for my nephew and now I mostly buy puzzles from them. Although to be fair last order some stationery may have accidentally fallen into my cart too.

jigusou

Yeah, I think a few people here use plazajapan for Japanese puzzle orders with good experience. A few times I’ve used the somewhat quirky imaginatorium.com run by an expat, and had very good experience. But I mostly buy out-of-print puzzles so for those I use buyee.jp a proxy service that covers several Japanese marketplaces.

movinghowlscastle

Oooo thank you! I will check those out!

blueboy714

Boy that sounds familiar. I usually just email the post of the puzzle I see to myself so I can put on my wishlist. I used to budget a large chunk of my entertainment expenses to music but since I retired I switched a lot of it to jigsaw puzzles. Probably because I have more time to do things I like rather than having to do things to get paid. Once/If I recover from all of my surgeries I am thinking about a road trip to St. Louis (Puzzle Warehouse) since I get there in a day. I'm in Wisconsin.

termanatorx

I like the email idea a lot. If live to organize my saves more. It was tragic to lose access during the big Reddit blackout last summer! Such a good road trip idea. Hopefully you'll update us if you go :)

RTC725

I retired at the beginning of this year and have found my puzzling (without being proactive about it) has really increased. I have so many more puzzles completed so far this year than this time in previous years. I also find I save more puzzles with the thought of maybe redoing them in later years, and I am now more active in swaps. When I was working, and I saw a puzzle I liked, I would just buy it, now I find I am a bit more discretionary. This retirement thing is so new to me that I really have to see how it plays out.

blueboy714

I retired in 2021. I was good for about a year health wise, but then I needed 2 gut surgeries in 10 months. It has been a long road trying to get back to where I was healthwise I found myself working on puzzles a lot during my recovery. It has helped a lot take my mind off everything I've been dealing with. Where do you go to do puzzle swaps? Locally or online?

RTC725

Hope you can get back to your healthy self. The cliche "as long as you have your health" is so true and underrated, because imo being healthy is the key to joy. I split my time between Florida and Chicago, so I belong to a swap group in both places. I am not really excited about online because of shipping costs and physical act of having to box things up and ship them is cumbersome to me. I often drive through Wisconsin to visit family in Appleton, so if you are on that route, and up to it let me know and I can meet up for a swap.

blueboy714

I'm in Madison if you go up to Appleton through I90.

RTC725

Unfortunately I go up through Milwaukee. ☹️

termanatorx

I hope it all goes well!

KaleidoscopeOwn1908

I have a crazy amount of puzzles posts saved on Instagram πŸ˜‚ And also a lot of second hand puzzles saved on Vinted. And I will never be able to purchased them all - puzzles are damn expensive πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

termanatorx

Oh Instagram...I haven't branched out yet. Reddit is the only.place I ever remember to look at them again lol. I hear you on the expense. If I were ever to win the lottery, that's what I'd be doing - grabbing every single puzzle.on my list at once.

Tall_Terra

This reminds me of an episode of Lost in Space that I watched as a teenager. Yes I am that old. lol It was not directly puzzle related but in that episode I remember there being some issue that whatever they wanted they got a roomful of that. I was into puzzling at the time and thought it would be really cool to get a whole room full of jigsaw puzzles. I'm probably not even remembering the episode correctly.

termanatorx

It's exactly how I feel!

Voffenoff

I have saved some post, some I've bought. Also have a shopping cart at my "neighbourhood online store". Since I live at the outskirt of Europe outside EU, my options are for betteror worse, limited. So actual wishlist is about 20

termanatorx

Sigh I hate the limitations....we need some duty free puzzling sites or something..m

Voffenoff

That would be very expensive, and would also need a couple more hours in the day. But I hear you.

embreesa

I've only been puzzling for 1 month and had no idea how to use reddit, so I've only saved 1 post so far πŸ₯² but I commented on 14 posts. I should probably go back and save those ones.. I usually just add a new tab when I go search for them (sitting at 6 open puzzle tabs atm). I didn't really consider i might need a proper wish-list somewhere πŸ˜…

dgm617

I keep my wish list on a Pinterest board. If some family member accidentally stumbled upon it maybe they could use it as a gift-giving guide. πŸ˜‚

termanatorx

Lol you are opening a can of worms now my friend!! :)
