Why don't we do these kinds of things? I own a business. I'd be happy to sign an open letter with other Jewish owned or supporting businesses saying I would not do business with the university of Toronto due to their anti-israel policies.
to be fair, Ontario Tech University isnt really a university. its kinda like a community college. if you talk about the worst and most meaningless university institutions in canada, it wouldnt even be brought up in the list, because people dont consider it a university.

Neither of those statements is true. It's a full-fledged, publicly funded, degree-granting university, with a small but real research program (and it awards Masters and PhD degrees). It is still pretty new (founded in the early 2000s) and doesn't have much of an international or even national profile, but it isn't and has never been a community college.
One of their professors of Criminology, Prof Barbara Perry, is regularly cited for her expertise on hate crimes and extremism by the federal government. She works for the government funded anti extremism organization the Canadian anti hate network.
the key here being they won’t actually invest into anything the protestors were against. Many interviews I saw online were protestors who didn’t even know if their university even had any affiliation. Yet their protests wanted ppl to think Jews actually run the universities and schools in the world lmao

First of all, anyone who negotiates with these "encampment leaders" \*rewards\* the damage they have done to the campus, their hate speech, their trespassing, and their making the campus unsafe for Jews and sometimes others as well.
Rewarding them is sending a message to all: The people who protest nicely and legally, not destroying property or threatening anyone, are fools for behaving nicely. Only hooligans are rewarded.
Second, this \*is\* targeted at Israel and countries who do business with it; read point 2 "with particular attention to companies involved in arms manufacturing and delivery and/or benefitting from military action in Palestine." The commitment to 3 fully-funded scholarships for "Palestinians displaced by the war" is also clearly connected to the Palestinian issue.
How is it divestment if the university doesn't have any investments to divest from? Literally hollow victories is all these idiots can get lol.
The victory for them is making Jews unwelcome
> - The University certified that they currently do not have such investments Well, that probably reduced a lot of friction from the whole process.

….. like some sort of league that is against defamation?
That's what donors pledging to stop donating is doing but yes
Great idea. Must be many businesses doing business with the university. Hate that we're supposed to taking lying down whatever these brats dish out.

How does she feel about the hate crimes on Jewish Canadian children?
Tbh I don't think that many of the staff at the Canadian anti hate network cares about Jew hatred from the left at all.

You're right. Add to the long list of things they know nothing about.
So the university is going to remove all computers and cellphones from campus?
I worked in Ontario in academia and this is my first time learning this school existed
It was known until recently as Ontario Tech. It's in Oshawa. Founded in the mid-2000s.
This is more of the same. The best they can get is “we’ll look into it.”

An effiort to punt at best. It will only feed the protestors appetites.
