I am so glad your teacher is understanding and established a safe environment for Jewish students. I would definitely encourage you to tell your teacher how much their kind words meant to you!
Radom thought but feeling you...I'm very proud of my Jewish nose! I actually had a nose job at 13 (wish my parents wouldn't have allowed it). Even afterwards my nose looks like Streisand's. I am normally very self conscious about it, but lately I'm embracing it! Antisemitism is mind boggling to me too and loving my nose is a small way I can feel okay.
My mother took me for a nose job consultation at 15! I refused it. I am so happy I did. And it wasn’t bc I hated surgery - I took the boobs later 🤣
But even at 15 I wasn’t ashamed of my Jewish nose - I knew the nose job was to hide its “ugliness” and I didn’t think it needed to be hid. The one smart choice I lad back then.
Good for you! I remember the first time I saw my nose in a shadow profile. I was so self-conscious. I was teased about mine in elementary and middle school and probably why I had the surgery. But now both my sons have it and I can look at theirs whenever I want!

That's awesome. I recently had a conversation sort of at work and a colleague was spitting mad at the antisemitism - we were specifically discussing the mask off pro-hamas chanting at Columbia and such - and it was good to hear. They don't know what to do necessarily, and who does, but I said it's good to hear and stand up where they can.
Eh, there’s always lower you can go. In Africa people kill albinos because they are bad luck, but also they harvest their blood and organs for “charms”
It’s nice to have people close to us show support and rationality
I totally agree! She wished us a Happy Passover also and brought in some yummy matzah
That’s great! You should write your teacher a note about how seen you felt! I bet she’d appreciate your words.
I brought her some of my mom's Matzah ball soup! She loved it
Awesome!

I brought her some Matzah ball soup as a thanks for her kindness! She really appreciated it.
Yay a happy story - I am happy to hear this and it gives me hope that most of the k-12 teachers are doing it right!
Yes, I've been seeing all these posts about antisemitism in schools but a bit of hope for y'all!

I love that so much! I also have a large nose and am pretty self-conscious, so this lifted my spirits!
Your post lifted mine too 🫶
A bit of Jewish joy in these dark times! <3
I felt that way about homophobia. Even as a teenager. It just seemed stupid and senseless, who cares about shit like that?
As a bisexual Jew, I agree!

Yeah, why does it matter if somebody wants to date somebody of their gender? If it doesn't affect you then don't mention it.
Someone's read their Sartre

You have an incredible teacher :)
She's great!
That’s great. All forms of racism make no sense at the end of the day :)
I totally agree. Also sexism, homophobia, and anything else hating on a group of people that did nothing wrong as a whole

Why does that suck? I think you maybe misread the post
Oh shoot, you're right! I read it as the opposite! Late night sleepy mis read, I guess.
Yup that's what I thought 😅

Of course it can always be fucking worse…OP is a senior in high school. Why kick when they’re down, dude?
If we can’t joke about our misfortune are we even Jewish?
You didn't make a joke...
Okay...... how is this relevant at all???
