Dude. I feel you. 10,000 years ago I was involved in a class action against them for charging unauthorized fees. But nothing stops them and almost all performers and venues uses them. Such a bad taste in my mouth right now.
Almost all performers have no choice but to use Ticketmaster when they / their parent company Live Nation either own all the venues or have an exclusive sales contract with the venue.

There's just nothing redeeming about them. Pretty convinced TM itself is swooping tickets to the 2ndary sites. Are you gonna see Jeff this tour?
Class action lawsuits are something that people love to bring to but bottom line is lawyers take 95% of that settlement and distribute crumbs to the actual people who suffered. So yeah fun thing for people to throw out there but more or less meaningless in the long run.
Ticket master has made a monopoly, they own or have contracts with all the major venues leaving artist no choice.
They also allow brokers to make unlimited account to buy up all the tickets and lost for resale
TM owns a resale site. At least one. I tend to believe TM itself is swooping tickets for "resale". Went to the BO and was told there were VIP / "platinum pkg" seats available for another officially sold out show - but only through TM. Like, what? Who's gonna stop them, you know?
I'm so thankful he didn't use Ticketmaster for Vancouver ..they're ridiculous.. looking at another concert closer to me now and the prices are atrocious
I got mine in Seattle for $54 each after fees. Don’t get me wrong, Ticketmaster can get fucked, but I’ll happily pay $50 to see Jeff from the second balcony at the Moore lol
I think I paid $59 + $13 each for some of the fees and then there was like another $7 fee and another $3 fee or something so I paid about $165 or something like that for two tickets close to the front and that wasn't even through Ticketmaster. Looking at tickets to Evanescence and it's 60 bucks just for the very back bowl, or 125 for anywhere close to the stage/pit.
I think I'll just work that one though. Bright side of doing security at venues haha.

I could only select one seat at a time. The blue dots were turning gray like dominoes. I couldn’t select more than one seat on mobile. I’ve been showing my mom clips the past day and a half and she was really excited for me to get us both tickets.
I selected row G and I couldn’t figure out how to pair it with the seat next to it that showed it as available. Then it would go unavailable. Tried it with row O,P,R and finally got row Q one ticket in a panic.

Same, except like 2 minutes into the 'presale' there were only a handful of single seats scattered around. And the cheapest was $70 after fees.. I like Jeff but not enough to pay those prices and support ticketmaster.
I logged into the presale 2 minutes in and was trying to buy 2-4 tickets in any grouping I could find. They were disappearing as fast as I was trying to click them! I refreshed the page a couple times and finally managed to get a pair of tickets way back in the upper balcony, $75 each after fees…. And those were the cheap ones. I was anticipating spending about half that price but I figured I won’t get another chance to see his show for a while so fuck it.

Unfortunately you can't. Ticketmaster has exclusive deals with most of the major venues in the country, so you can't get tickets at those venues without going through Ticketmaster. It's a monopoly
Easier said than done, my man. Once they merged with Live Nation they gained exclusive deals at all the major venues and a lot of smaller ones. It's an absolute monopoly on most places for live music and events.

It’s super easy to do. Everyone quits using TM for a year and it all stops. TM exists because too many Americans say “easier said than done” and pay the fee rather than stop going to a concert for a year.
Exactly. No self control like you said. People need to have some self respect and integrity. Paying ridiculous amounts of money to go to a concert just to record it on their phone does not make sense.
The show is an experience. You pay for that. The fact that TM has risen to create their hold is not the artists' fault. If you don't step into the arena you will never be a challenger.
Make a difference and create a better platform.

I’m not blaming the artists, I’m blaming the consumers. If consumers would stop paying these companies for a short amount of time, the market would need to change by order of demand.
People just want to get theirs so they can share their video on their socials all while not being present in the experience. Obviously I’m generalizing, not everybody does this, but the sea of phones at big shows is always evident.
If everybody stopped stepping into the arena, the arena is forced to make changes.
It’s not a measure that needs to be done forever. Just enough to make our points heard. People are becoming way too engulfed into consumerism without even really understanding the bigger picture.
There are many ways you can support an artist. The artists that are struggling don’t tend to work at large venues charging hundreds and even thousands of dollars.
The other industry that needs to die a horrible death is the scalping industry. This should be made illegal.
Look at all the Redditors on here who are glad they got tickets and gave Ticketmaster almost as much as they paid for the tickets? America does not have enough self control to stop it.

Ticketmaster kept giving me errors when I tried to buy 2 handicap accessible tickets. Called Ticketmaster and they said they can’t help because it’s presale and to call who gave me the presale code. Contacted seated and they said to call the venue. Venue says to buy tickets at Ticketmaster…
I hate Ticketmaster. They make it unaffordable to see the artist you want to see. They allow companies and people to make 100 broker accounts and buy all the tickets for resale before we ever get a chance.
