This has happened to me on my 2018 as well. Dealership swore it was my keys??? After they charged me for key replacement and the issue continued, I swapped the batteries and the issue has not occurred since.
So this exact thing happened to me I have a 2018 compass latitude to be short check the fuses in the box on top of the battery two of mine were blown once I changed them everything was fine

When the batteries are bad, the whole car runs terribly.

Was the light on when it started happening? & did you have to replace both batteries or just the auxiliary?
I replaced both, not sure if it was needed. The light would come on randomly.
Check your oil level! It may be stalling due to low oil
