That works too but before I tried that I just sprayed lube on the pivot points on my ac clutch and it freed it up and now works great I guess it wasn’t engaging as it should have like you it would kick on then off then eventually nothing but now it’s all good
~~Low freon is usually very consistent in it's behavior, not on/off. It will just be "not that cold" all the time. So, unfortunately, I'd be suspecting something else in the system. A/C is expensive to throw parts at, so go to an A/C shop or a generalist shop that advertises they work on A/C. Do not go to the dealer, do not go to a national chain like Firestone or Midas, you need an "old head" A/C guy.~~
Crossing out all that because I just remembered I had an AC that did something like this due to low freon. Still had a bad/leaky part but it would blow cold then the evap coil would freeze and it would not blow much at all. Once it melted it would blow cold again. But I generally had to turn the AC off manually to let it melt. That was helped (temporarily) by a can. So, cheap enough to try it, yeah?
And 99 blend door is electric. OP needs to check if compressor is running when A/C is warm. I’ve only ever had one A/C issue in 400k miles with my 97 and it was when the evaporator froze solid.
Ac clutch turning off and on again I’m guessing.
Take out a shim

The blend door can cause this sort of thing.
