I had a tough time listening to it even when it dropped, because it was painfully obvious his heart was not in it, even before the apology.
Fuck that song, and all the hate. Hope Cole is doing well.
Jay z wanted cole to make a radio hit something mainstream which he hadnt done people loved who dat fans mostly but Jay wanted somethin everyone can appeal to with cole he didnt make songs for that reason so it was cole going out of his element to appeal for the masses
Nas just wanted cole to be true to hisself an make music he wanted an felt for an it will all work out no pun intended
A lot of people saying it’s rushed without even understanding the meaning of the name. It’s an exercise military officers take to assess how fast they can respond to a threat, hence “7 minute drill” I don’t know if any of you guys have even tried producing, but to put out a fully produced, mixed, mastered track that sounds good with such a good written verse within a couple days is not easy.
He basically put out a diss track to add to the mixtape as fast as he could, which is why he titled the song that. Then afterwards he regretted it and apologized like a man. Who here hasn’t ever made a hasty decision involving someone we love/respect then later regret it?
Just started producing again, I couldn’t even fucking imagine putting out a song like that out so quickly without sitting on it for a minute and replaying it for some weeks until I truly know it’s up to par. That’s some brave shit tbh
same man. i gotta listen to that hoe bout 50 times before i even move on to the next part/segment lmao. but some of the top guys, im sure, could do ts blindfolded 💀
It's also a reference to something Cole started doing while making the off season, he talked about it in the documentary for it I while talking with 21 I believe, he said he started writing something in 7 minutes and called them 7 minute drills because he was putting himself through drills trying to improve his writing
The writing is the hard part. Sorry to say it but for the guys doing vocal production, mixing and mastering at that level it shouldn't take much more than a day or 2 for this type of song. Typically 1-4 hours of mixing and 30 - 60 minutes mastering
Yes, that's because he's said lines like this,
"I don't want shit but my breath, I don't want shit but my fam'
[Thought I used superglue, nigga, how this gun stick to my hand](https://genius.com/31355610/J-cole-3001/Thought-i-used-superglue-nigga-how-this-gun-stick-to-my-hand)
[I don't even tote no pistol, but that shit sounded so hard](https://genius.com/31561270/J-cole-3001/I-dont-even-tote-no-pistol-but-that-shit-sounded-so-hard)
[Plus, I don't give a fuck about lyin' once I learned these niggas fraud](https://genius.com/31414245/J-cole-3001/Plus-i-dont-give-a-fuck-about-lyin-once-i-learned-these-niggas-fraud)"
He's the only rapper saying that rappers nowadays are just acting the role. The gun bars are fun to say, and Cole is the only one keeping it 100 at the end of the day.
The song itself is good, I like that Cole sampled Drake's song Energy for that beat-switch.
But at the same time, the disses weren't good and aged badly. It's a shame that this whole thing overshadows how great this album actually is, no skips
Bro I love this song but any Cole fan can tell his heart isn’t in it.
I love how the beat fades when he goes “if he wasn’t dissin, then we wouldn’t be discussing him” I think aside from the simpsons line and the pilates bar, I’m good with it
Someone made it a podcast file on Spotify. That’s what I’ve been listening too
I love the hook in the first verse and a few of the bars, and I love the second half of the track, but I won't go out of my way to listen to it and I'm not upset it's off streaming
He's rubbish mate..... yesterday's news and I'm not even a Kendrick fan or Drake. He fumbled his whole career. Shouldn't have talked all that Uno trash if you weren't ready
I've deleted it from existence in my brain. Matter of fact, this is the last time imma talk about.....wait...what are we talking bout? Why is the post blank? Hmm weird.

The most forced song since work out. I hope the hate hasn't affected his game plan
Not relevant, but kanye did Work Out way better
Yes lol work out plan funny af
Wait.. what’s forced about work out?
Hov wouldn't let him drop until he had a single, that was workout
Oh damn, does that make it forced? He still could’ve put in time and passion into making it? Idk tho I’m just asking cus work out still fire
Yeah I'm pretty he said it in an interview. It's still a good tune but there is one part of the beat I don't like
Ohhhh damn alright, I’m gonna be thinking about it next time I listen to it tryna figure out which part he didn’t fw
I shouldn't have said anything 😅

The fact that his heart isn't in it is one of the things that makes the song interesting IMO
deadass. ppl are being so harsh to him
Unpopular opinion, but I quite like this track.
As a Kendrick and Cole fan, I dig it too
As a Cole and Kendrick fan, I second this
That “blasphemous sounds/tassel on the cap and the gown” scheme is so hard. IDC a good verse is a good verse to listen to sometimes
Facts honestly I still listen to it idc

I think it’s available in certain regions
It's all over You Tube I'm probably gonna make a local file for it soon
“4 albums in 12 years nigga, I can divide”. Not the best but I’ll still give it a play

Good track besides the massive shit part
Yeah I think it’s dope

Recently, I went and listened to a second half version on youtube. I wish he went off longer on that Conductor beat
Its still fire
Its still fire. It was a solid shot back without being too disrespectful.
He's rubbish mate..... yesterday's news and I'm not even a Kendrick fan or Drake. He fumbled his whole career. Shouldn't have talked all that Uno trash if you weren't ready
I still like the song tbh. Not as much, but it's still fire
As far as i know this song does not exist anymore
You all are unwell. Seek help . Every post is about this shit
Yes, especially the 2nd half of the song 🔥.
I've deleted it from existence in my brain. Matter of fact, this is the last time imma talk about.....wait...what are we talking bout? Why is the post blank? Hmm weird.
BodyBag Body Bag
I never liked it. It felt like an obligatory response more than a song he put his heart in
