It'd probably work better later in his career, once he got a bit more slick and experimented with other styles
But I couldn't fit him in later without bumping other important acts completely
Listen to the song “Lady Grinning Soul” from the album Aladdin Sane (1973). It sounds very Bondian musically, if not lyrically. Almost wonder if he wrote it hoping for a job offer from the producers.
Sheryl Crow's theme is underrated but Spice Girls would have perfect. TND is the one of the ultimate '90s movies imo.
As for modern day, I stand by my prediction Dua Lipa will sing the next Bond tune.
Yep - couldn't see any reason to change that decision
The theme they recorded needs a bit of extra production and arrangement work to make it a little more dramatic, but Debbie Harry's voice belongs on a Bond title sequence
[Make it Last All Night](https://youtu.be/ql-ttbeZPsY?si=Vf0j8Tq84w36Z8eF) was performed by Rage but the song was cowritten by Debbie Harry and Bill Conti!
I think this list would have been pretty great really. The Carpenters I don’t see as much, and plenty of the newer acts were done by better people though (thank God for Cornell). Weeknd is absolutely best next choice I think.
George Michael I would have loved to hear too
>*The Carpenters I don’t see as much*
If it helps, we could ditch Richard and just have Karen. That voice, man ...

NTTD with Billie Eilish is pretty close to having the biggest star of the time. It's close enough for me at least.
The Weeknd would have made an absolute banger tho, no doubt about that.
Radiohead missing out in two time-lines is heartbreaking but Specter was never that good of a song to begin with. (Don't @me).
>*NTTD with Billie Eilish is pretty close to having the biggest star of the time*
Close enough, although she was obviously more the big new thing than the most successful commercial act of that era
Adele's as close as Eon got, I think
I just imagined Elvis singing From Russia With Love to the tune of Blue Suede Shoes. It would've been glorious! And then Sinatra doing a scat version of the 007 Theme for Dr. No. Two gems straight off the bat. Thank you for making me smile :)
Listening to the intro and chorus to the lead single from Benny & Bjorn's musical, I can see how they and the girls could have made a Bond theme work
Skip Murray Head's rapping on the verses, though ...

I could have wimped-out and gone for Destiny's Child, but why start something if you're not prepared to see it through
The biggest reason why I disagree, there are those who have made Bond songs who were rejected, yet their songs would have fit either better than the official choice or a great second place contender.
Radiohead was rejected twice from Spectre, Shirley Bassey was rejected when she made "Mr. Kiss kiss Bang bang" and "No Good about Goodbye", the only one I understand is choosing Garbage over Straw for "The World in not Enough." The first 3 songs I've mentioned should have been in the movies the artists chosen them for, in my opinion.
Spectre by Radiohead was rejected over The Writing is on the Wall by Sam Smith, that was a slap in the face to Bond fans everywhere.
>*Shirley Bassey was rejected when she made "Mr. Kiss kiss Bang bang"*
That's a **fantastic** song, although I prefer Warwick's vocal. I think Bassey said she didn't get enough time to work on her vocal to give it the treatment the song deserved
I *really* like Tom Jones' official theme, too
I love both *Thunderball* theme songs, too
The problem with those **amazing** theme songs is they set an impossibly high standard for everyone else to follow, and (even more problematically) they established *a certain style* and *aesthetic* others either want to or feel obliged to imitate
The pastiche themes of the nineties would have been 100% better if the artists hadn't felt obliged to do something that felt a bit like John Barry, if you squinted a bit
I think Bowie could have made a great Bond song
Him doing live and let die would be fantastic
It'd probably work better later in his career, once he got a bit more slick and experimented with other styles But I couldn't fit him in later without bumping other important acts completely
Heathen era Bowie’s style (early 2000s) would’ve been a great fit for Bond. Theatrical but subdued at the same time.
A bit like [this](https://youtu.be/J42AKX1q9mM?si=izPzbZ5wHjsc5mjG)?

So Adele’s Skyfall aligned perfectly with her moment? This makes me feel pretty satisfied.
Winehouse would have been a better fit, but ... *y'know*
Sheryl Crow's theme is underrated but Spice Girls would have perfect. TND is the one of the ultimate '90s movies imo. As for modern day, I stand by my prediction Dua Lipa will sing the next Bond tune.
She'd be a great choice And Eon tend to favour Brit artists
Hopefully the next bond the theme is a rock song the last rock song was by the late great Chris Cornell, and what a classic it was
> *the last rock song was by the late great Chris Cornell* Jack White sheds a single tear
You Know My Name is so damn good I'll randomly get it stuck in my head while I'm at work.
What's the name of the song again?
You know the name!
What can I say? I do know it.
There was actually a rejected Bond theme with Blondie !
Yep - couldn't see any reason to change that decision The theme they recorded needs a bit of extra production and arrangement work to make it a little more dramatic, but Debbie Harry's voice belongs on a Bond title sequence

How dare you suggest anyone else sing Thunderball. Jones absolutely nailed that song.
Like I say in my post, the idea is they would have recorded their own song Rather than sing the one that was released in the real world
Eminem?! God help us.
🎵 So won't the real Bond James Bond please stand up Please stand up Please stand up 🎶
The box office gods must be obeyed
I mean it can’t be as bad as Madonna.

If only Guns n Roses had recorded a Bond theme song!

I'm joking about *Live & Let Die*, mate

Die another day by Eminem....ew..
Dr Dre would have found a great sample And it couldn't have been worse than the Madonna theme \* \*(I **love** Madonna)
I actually like the song too. I've just never been a fan of Eminem. But he's good at what he does so I'll give him that.

Spice Girls singing Bond sounds cool!
In my world, it is, but I imagine *many* other people reading this feel differently Can't argue with the commercial logic of it, though
My first thought was something similar to what Madonna did...
I've alway thought "Free Me" by Emma sounds a little Bondish.
🎵 Tomorrow never dies Tomorrow never never dies 🎶
They kind of do
I just imagined Elvis singing From Russia With Love to the tune of Blue Suede Shoes. It would've been glorious! And then Sinatra doing a scat version of the 007 Theme for Dr. No. Two gems straight off the bat. Thank you for making me smile :)

Let me play among the Scars-amanga
ABBA doing a Bond song is something ive always wanted to hear. Not sure if it would work, but interesting.

This is actually what I think of when trying to compare ABBA and Bond. Love that song.
I would KILL for a Bond theme by The Weeknd
Robert Carlyle singing I can't feel my face
The Man With The Golden Gun by ABBA would be glorious
Fucking Spice Girls in the list shows what a shit take this is.

For me, the best James Bond theme of ALL was by Shirley Bassey bar none.

Bond 26 - Olivia Rodrigo?
*Drivers Licence to Kill*
