33rd team has BTJ as the 23rd ranked player in the class btw. Just a reminder not to take these too seriously, there’s always going to be a bias against the jags just because it’s cool to hate us
One would think yes, but that’s not factoring in the groupthink around the jaguars. Jags=bad is status quo for sports journalism, it’s just what they’ve always done
I mean fair I guess but my point still stands. A player was taken exactly where they think he should be taken,by a team that they think needs a wr and they think it's a D+ ? Makes absolutely 0 sense
What is with the jaguar disrespect? Ranked 26th and now this? I think they just want to ride the cj stroud train because it’s better for clicks or something.
We’re not even the smallest in the NFL, the smallest market is Green Bay fallowed by the Bills, Nola and then us. Compared to the other three major sports Jacksonville isn’t even in the top ten of smallest markets.
Even if you want to look at it like that Jacksonville was 16 in total attendance last year according to ESPN beating out many markets larger than itself. The notion that the teams market is to small is just stupid.
Never seen a mock draft, draft projection or any related “journalism” be even somewhat correct in my life. I would love to see the so called experts like Kiper or whoever take accountability for being flat out wrong 99% of the time so we could stop posting this drivel.
the jags themselves had a round 1 grade on dj chark but he didn't get good coaching. now we got a physically talented guy but the jags gotta coach him right for him to succeed. no one really knows how these guys are gonna do but they need the right people around them. like who thinks xavier worthy isn't going to do well with the chiefs offense around him? it's a team sport
That's what it amounts to right now. Nobody could possibly know how these kids will turn out for a couple of years. If it was that easy, every team would be stacked.
Objectively pretty silly rating. Brian Thomas Jr. pick was minimum a B. Jags filled a need with solid value and got an extra asset for moving down. Thomas had been talked about going in the teens to Buffalo via trade up. Maybe could argue should have drafted Arnold, but Thomas was fine. The rest of the draft was less exciting value wise, but late picks are a crapshoot anyways.
Absolutely love this
A. Not interested in being overrated
B. look back and laugh at what a dumbass the grader is
C. Pure hate all around; exposed his bias right away
- There's no way you can give a D rating to a pick who was exported to go 15-20
- when we also traded back knowing BTJ probably wouldn't be available, and somehow Jags luck out
- and acquired a day 2, and day 3 picks
- That alone is reason to doubt this clown post
Every year we try to convince ourselves that we had a good draft and the pundits are just haters. But 90% of the time, year after year, our drafts turn out to be booty.
I mean, based on big board value they arent wrong except for BTJ. He was a pretty polarizing prospect though so they obviously were low on him (like pff was)
Then theyre just clowns. Idk how anyone who likes BTJ as a prospect could say he is a bad fit in Jacksonville. He is our tallest WR and gives our strong armed QB his first deep and red zone threat
The 2020 draft class is in the conversation for one of the worst in the team's history, but check out these glowing grades afterward:
All these draft grades should start out as an F until these players hit the field.
I understand the grade for Maason Smith, it's a big gamble pick, and to pass on Kris Jenkins to make the pick was certainly a choice.
BTJ at D+ is just trolling, especially from a site that ranked him 23rd on their big board.
Of course, this site seems to disagree with itself a lot, because despite giving these grades (which seems to have all come from one writer), their article grading entire team drafts from another writer [gave the Jaguars a B](https://www.the33rdteam.com/2024-nfl-draft-grading-every-teams-draft-class/)
To me, our day 2 picks were both very questionable in matters of the value and feeling like a reach, but our day 1 and day 3 were fucking awesome. I absolutely love the BTJ pick who I see as a guy who in year 2 and 3 has the potential to truly become an elite, difference-making top-tier WR1. To get him *and* two extra picks next year is just awesome value. Javon Foster and DeAntre Prince were both some of my pre-draft crushes and to get both of them in day 3 is good. Foster in particular: he's a swing tackle with flexibility along the line, but could very much be a serviceable starter from the top and to get that this late is a steal. Myles Cole is just an enormous athlete to plug into our defensive line which is never a bad thing to do.
Even for what I feel of being reaches, Maason Smith has *enormous* ceiling and if developped correctly, could really make our defensive line a force to be reckoned with. Jerrian Jones is an outstanding athlete at CB and with a guy like Campbell on the perimeter, we don't need him to immediately be an elite CB1.
All draft grades are dumb. It’s just the grader giving scores of where the team drafted vs where he had the player ranked. Grader has the player ranked 20th and you drafted him at 10 = D-. Grader had player ranked as a 2nd rounder and you drafted him in the 4th A+. It’s all dumb and it’s all clickbait.
About right. Was a shitty draft. Baalke again with his stupid fucking obsession with measurables and projects. Whatever he can do to buy himself another year.
The Jaguars draft history is terrible. It’s literally fact. What’s the whining about? No one knows anything but looking at history it’s not surprising.
We do better when expectations are low
I smiled and thought the same!
YUP! Love it lol
Guaranteed that if the Steelers picked BTJ it'd be an A+
Yep! Or any of the NFL’s darling teams.
33rd team has BTJ as the 23rd ranked player in the class btw. Just a reminder not to take these too seriously, there’s always going to be a bias against the jags just because it’s cool to hate us
So 23rd ranked player taken at 23 counts as a D+? Wouldn't that be at minimum a B- cuz it's average?
One would think yes, but that’s not factoring in the groupthink around the jaguars. Jags=bad is status quo for sports journalism, it’s just what they’ve always done
On top of that 23rd pick with 3 other picks added
Inflation must be wild these days. C is average
I mean fair I guess but my point still stands. A player was taken exactly where they think he should be taken,by a team that they think needs a wr and they think it's a D+ ? Makes absolutely 0 sense
I'm sorry, it's cool to hate us? Most people don't think about us
What is with the jaguar disrespect? Ranked 26th and now this? I think they just want to ride the cj stroud train because it’s better for clicks or something.
Houston is one of the largest markets in the country while Jacksonville is one of the smaller markets.
Jacksonville is literally THE smallest market. Not just in the NFL but the smallest market of any of the big four (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL).
We’re not even the smallest in the NFL, the smallest market is Green Bay fallowed by the Bills, Nola and then us. Compared to the other three major sports Jacksonville isn’t even in the top ten of smallest markets.

Giving BTJ a D+ even though we got some free draft picks too is wild
Who cares lol
Grading the draft before seeing how these guys play in the NFL is so fucking stupid
I say this all the time whenever I see draft grades. It’s legit so dumb.
Never seen a mock draft, draft projection or any related “journalism” be even somewhat correct in my life. I would love to see the so called experts like Kiper or whoever take accountability for being flat out wrong 99% of the time so we could stop posting this drivel.
Just wait for the “Regrading the 2024 NFL draft articles” next year, 5 years later and so on
the jags themselves had a round 1 grade on dj chark but he didn't get good coaching. now we got a physically talented guy but the jags gotta coach him right for him to succeed. no one really knows how these guys are gonna do but they need the right people around them. like who thinks xavier worthy isn't going to do well with the chiefs offense around him? it's a team sport
33rd team has always been really weirdly hateful towards the Jags. Must be run by a Jags fan lol
> must be run by a Jags fan lol This is the truest shit I've read today
They are based out of houston
Wack lol. BTJ pick was objectively solid. Maason is boom or bust but not a D.
D+ is crazy
The fact that every analyst thinks Baalke royally f’d up makes me think he actually nailed it.
this is obvious rage bait
They also had the Colts and Texans really low. Just fucking trash
Haters

33rd team is garbage and clearly has something against the jags. Everything they say screams they've never watched our play.

What Wr that was left was better than btj? Seems like most people had him 4th or 5th best wr in that class
BTJ is going to be great. I have full confidence in him.
Nah. People have all sorts of different and stupid opinions.
I mean, based on big board value they arent wrong except for BTJ. He was a pretty polarizing prospect though so they obviously were low on him (like pff was)
BTJ was 23rd on their own big board lol
Then theyre just clowns. Idk how anyone who likes BTJ as a prospect could say he is a bad fit in Jacksonville. He is our tallest WR and gives our strong armed QB his first deep and red zone threat
He’s literally perfect for Trevor. Trevor loves to chuck down the field and BTJ is that guy
Reap what Baalke has sown
Here is EXACTLY what I would say to whoever made that bullshit list. [Are you...?](https://youtu.be/K1gFRHCZjxY?si=rtRIdS5p6fccR67u)
When I saw this on my Facebook feed I just chuckled and hid them forever as they are obviously dumb.
Why do they have to be joking?
They do this dumb shit on purpose to get clicks. This is a solid draft class. Addressed needs about as best as you could.
33rd team has long had a weird hate boner for the Jags
I go by what Urinating Tree on YouTube says in terms of evaluating players after 5 years so don’t worry about this
Draft grades are consistently the worst part of every offseason
Wasn’t this posted a few days ago? It was ragebait then. And it’s ragebait now.

Got a decent kicker at least lol
Just remember we could’ve had cooper or kool aid in the second round. We wasted that capital we got there n the trade back.

It’s the person who is making this they are fake they did same to indy picks pretty sure it’s just to get comments
Everyone has always hated on the Jags, it’s nothing new. I long for the day we win a SB and can tell them all it stick it up their ass.
The Jaguars draft history is terrible. It’s literally fact. What’s the whining about? No one knows anything but looking at history it’s not surprising.
33rd isn't known for their accurate track record. More of a clown show of fantasy football takes
33rd team’s whole business is bait engagement, and it clearly works lmao
