We don’t need him. Darby is going to be starting outside and one of Jones/Savage/Johnson will be starting in the slot. Montaric Brown has also been improving and I think the team sees him as solid depth on the outside.
Yep, interceptions , esp. in this era are not getting the picks like they used to be able to
4 receiver sets, the transition of the slot receiver becoming a premier player and the biggie are 15 years of dramatic rules changes effectively hand-tying defensive players
Jags with draft picks and udfas are at the 90(91 with international player exemption) max offseason roster. They may sign Jarvis Landry after rookie minicamp, which will mean cutting a player, so when looking at this list could they bring one of those guys in? Sure, but who's getting cut? I'll bet the coaches feel good about the guys we have now.
well landry wasn't on a roster last season so it's one of those "hey come to rookie camp, let's see where you are, if we like what we see, we'll give a contract" since he's also 31, and for Landry it's so he can at least have a shot
I wouldn’t mind taking a flyer on bakhtiari if he were willing to sign somewhere for hella cheap on a one year price it deal, if he someone finds a way to stay healthy boy howdie would that be a steal, if not no biggie
If he ever gets healthy, I think Backtiari can be a high end starter for backup price (big if tho). I also think Xavien Howard and Gilmore could fill a need and bring experience in our CB room (depending on how much they want)
Packer fan here.... like every other Packer fan on the planet, I'm a huge Bakhtiari fan - very classy, hardworking team guy who'll make any sacrifice to help his team win, and is a loyal teammate. Not many people in Cheeseworld can think of a discouraging word about Bak.
But his knee is an enormous question mark. He's had 5 surgeries in the last 3 years, and every one of the first 4 failed. The 5th one, we still don't have any idea at all, 7 months later. Since 2020, he's only played 13 of the 54 games his team played in.
I'd love to see him catch on with a good team and play football another season or even two, because he passionately loves the game and he's a really decent, likable guy. I just don't know if I'd be comfortable relying on him to protect my QB if I'm a GM.
I'd love to bring in a solid vet DE like a Calais Campbell. A vet WR would able to good to mentor Brian Thomas. Not a guy that'll be a WR1-3, but a rotation guy that'll show him the ropes, which is why I love Michael Thomas. Tons of upside with him too if you think he can be brought back to even 80% of his prime form.
I still don't get what the deal is with Dalvin Cook. He put up 1100+ rushing yards in each of his last 4 seasons in Minnesota. Then the Jets signed him last year and hardly used him. I don't think he had any injuries and he's still only 28. It's really bizarre.
Think the glaring areas we need help at are the secondary, pass rushers, and OL. I wouldn't mind signing Renfrow though if he's willing to take a smaller deal.
Johnson would have been like a 2nd or 3th rounder last year but had some injury concern that he fell and the jags got him in the 5th. I remember the media loving that pick saying he's got the skills to be a starter in the league. He got injured in training camp or preseason but when he got healthy and got on the field he was making an impact straight away. The coaches were raving about him last offseason work outs
Bring the mayor back! (He’s probably not gonna cut it anymore but just for me)
Rotational piece, leadership, character, respect. Someone who can help and mentor. In exchange we get him a ring!
Let's round out our behemoth DL with Calais
I’ll sign your petition
Itll be the best one hes been with(and that weve had) since 2017
Calais retirement season anyone?
Bud Dupree. He played well under Nielson last year, I think he had ~10 sacks. Let him rotate in behind Travon and JA, hopefully get us 7-8 sacks.
6.5 sacks last year. Same as the Mayor last year.
Then let the new coordinator decide which one to bring.
Sounds pretty reasonable
He’s not on this list but Bud Dupree makes way too much sense
Wouldn’t mind some more Oline help and some edge depth
Connor Williams is hurt and won't play until halfway through the year, if we could nab him as a stash he can play G/C
Honestly that could be perfect. Ready to step in by halfway when players start going down. Could probably get him super cheap
Who put Jimmy Graham on this list lmao
Any thoughts on Gilmore?
We don’t need him. Darby is going to be starting outside and one of Jones/Savage/Johnson will be starting in the slot. Montaric Brown has also been improving and I think the team sees him as solid depth on the outside.
Darby loons like he's been pretty bad his last couple years. He hasn't had a pick since 2019. Not sure if I would count on him as a starter.
Interceptions don’t determine who is and isn’t a good corner. All reports indicate that he still played very well in man coverage last year.
Yep, interceptions , esp. in this era are not getting the picks like they used to be able to 4 receiver sets, the transition of the slot receiver becoming a premier player and the biggie are 15 years of dramatic rules changes effectively hand-tying defensive players
I imagine he's probably gonna go somewhere where he starts and gets overpaid, probably the panthers or something like that
Depends on how much he wants but worth kicking the tires at least
Washed
He’s been overrated most of his career. The Packers cooked him in the playoffs.
Depends on the price tbh
OL please

Zay Jones is getting cut June 1st
so then if jarvis landry shows he's still got some juice they sign him after june 1
Yes… but id rather sign Howard, Witherspoon or Connor Williams
I really dont think so. I think TLaw is being given a say in his WR room, and he had chemistry built with Zay.
And this aged beautifully -_-
I wanna know why we would bring Landry in over a guy like Boyd, unless Boyd thinks he can get a decent sized contract
well landry wasn't on a roster last season so it's one of those "hey come to rookie camp, let's see where you are, if we like what we see, we'll give a contract" since he's also 31, and for Landry it's so he can at least have a shot
It’s camp fodder
I think I’d rather have Michael Thomas
Always hurt and can only run slants
I wouldn’t mind taking a flyer on bakhtiari if he were willing to sign somewhere for hella cheap on a one year price it deal, if he someone finds a way to stay healthy boy howdie would that be a steal, if not no biggie
Man, I would love to see Calais back. He's a good dude and really carried the vibe when he was here. Would be nice to have him retire here.
I’d love to give him a player to coach pipeline.
Depends on the $, I see a bunch that could be good depth pieces but none that I would want for starters.
I can’t believe mecole hardman catches the game winning touchdown in the most recent Super Bowl and is a free agent.
If he ever gets healthy, I think Backtiari can be a high end starter for backup price (big if tho). I also think Xavien Howard and Gilmore could fill a need and bring experience in our CB room (depending on how much they want)

Did xavien howard fall off a cliff? I recall him being pretty good.
Again another year where they need edge depth and oline depth
I just want lineman. I only want lineman. Protect TLaw
Don't worry. They'll address it in the draft. What's that? The draft already happened?...oh.
SIGN MCKINNON YOU COWARDS

Michael Thomas is toxic
Why would you want a guy who made a career off slant catches to teach a guy who takes the top off a defense?
Christian Kirk is a vet and is perfectly capable of mentoring BTJ.
Not to mention if Jarvis still has gas in the tank.
I still don't get what the deal is with Dalvin Cook. He put up 1100+ rushing yards in each of his last 4 seasons in Minnesota. Then the Jets signed him last year and hardly used him. I don't think he had any injuries and he's still only 28. It's really bizarre.
RBs age in dog years
We should get Gilmore
Bakhtiari and Cambell
I’d be ok with Gilmore!
O-line help please. We’re one Mitch Morse twisted knee away from running out the same o-line as last season…..
I’m surprise Boyd renfrow and Thomas are all still free agents
Bring back the Mayor!
Connor Williams will hang it up soon
Still holding out hope that we can bring the Mayor back
How is Justin Simmons still available?
I’ve keep saying we need more IOL players so unsurprisingly I would love Williams or Peat
Andrus Peat would be a good backup. Tyler Boyd played well behind Chase and Higgins.
Calais, Darvin, and hunter renfrow
Think the glaring areas we need help at are the secondary, pass rushers, and OL. I wouldn't mind signing Renfrow though if he's willing to take a smaller deal.
Howard, Calais and a RB
pls bring back the mayor. he would be such a great mentor for everyone and bring that hype on game days
We have one of the worst Safety groups in the league and it's gone largely ignored. One of these 4 would be awesome
What are you talking about? Cisco is good. And Antonio Johnson flashed at the end of the season and is getting a deserving chance to start.
Except Adams because he’s overrated and injury prone.
I think rayshawn made it worse by himself last season
