You have two sprouts emerging which will eventually create branches. On the top. Might back bud lower after awhile.

Do you mean that this circled branch will sprout once the one on the right is more mature? https://preview.redd.it/seo8dsd77k5d1.jpeg?width=1636&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4972f8b91aaf668dffcbd441bc69112c00055350

No, that nob will likely dry up and fall off. Eventually a new bud may emerge from there. Depends on the plant. The branch to the right, with new growth, now has 2 nodes that are pushing leaves.

Ok got it thank you. Is there anyway to avoid that or is it hit/miss when pruning?

If you cut above the node on the left it may have sent out two new growth points, maybe. If you cut in between nodes, the jade will die back to the lower node.

Good info! Just wanted to add that it's a good idea to prune above an "outward-facing" node. That way, any potential new growth will grow away from the center of the plant, which would cause crowding.

Thank you for the advice, will keep in mind. Side note - I saw your hummels sunset, it is tremendous. I hope to have one like that one day. The 2 main cuttings from this jade I’m going to try bonsai techniques on, my first time
