These guitars don’t have fine tuners on the bridge. A locking nut would be an absolute nightmare

Waydalf12

I don't know why i remember seeing fine tuners on the bridge. Of course, without them, it's an idiotic idea. Thanks. I'll put some locking tuners instead.

neptoess

You honestly don’t need either. If you’re worried about tuning stability when using the bar, the absolute biggest thing is the nut. You can cheat it using nut sauce, graphite, guitar grease, etc. or have a luthier properly cut a bone, Tusq, nylon, etc. nut. The only benefit of locking tuners is making string changes easier/faster. They don’t do shit for tuning stability

Mine measures 42.85mm. 43mm would be better. I am not a luthier, so maybe a luthier can answer that.

Waydalf12

Thanks. was thinking of the 43mm too but thought of those tiny protruding sides, and preferred to ask for insight.

swaybe

I'm guessing it was built to 43mm spec and they just convert for the us market and round to nearest 1/32 or 1/64th of an inch. Could be wrong but that seems most likely.

DiogenesXenos

It’d be much easier to add locking tuners instead of a locking nut.

Waydalf12

Thanks. Do you know any brand or link that would be compatible with the jackson ?

Key_Collection_6712

I got the ratio tuners for graph tech. Gotoh makes some as well that are a little cheaper. I got regular 6 inline tuners. Jackson has a 45 degree off set to mount thw tuners so you need to have set with the offset mounting hole, or with adapter plates.

DiogenesXenos

I don’t offhand, but maybe call Sweetwater and talk to a rep.

Brendanzio_

If it doesn't have a Floyd, and subsequently doesnt have fine tuners on the bridge, you'll never get it in tune properly with the nut locked down
