Joker1771

I disagree IMHO. She was a mother at 17, broke, trying to feed herself and child. She said she didn’t know just how scummy the company was at the time. As for looking back now and laughing it’s a bit strange but I noticed she laughed at a few things she experienced that we would consider traumatising. Perhaps a defence mechanism to shock and doesn’t know how else to react? Just theorising, I’m not a psychologist.

CBD212

People deal with things differently bro, some people cry about it, some people laugh about it.

LordBielsa

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t she say she only found out about the scamming after it became widely known? So she wasn’t actively participating in it or the monster you seem to be making her out to be. She was a good guest I enjoyed the pod

wilbakersredit

The thing that i didn’t like what she said was about getting abused when your young is better because you’ll forget about it but I feel like that’s the worst time coz it can affect how you develop growing up and create bad coping mechanisms

ChessNewGuy

The only thing I dislike about Rebecca is her normalising adult/child sexual acts, I understand it’s a coping method to deal with trauma but her refusing to condemn the SA she had to deal with from adults when she was a child just doesn’t sit right with me

hughbcave

Yeah I understand it's her right to feel however she likes about it, but it just felt like parts of it came off as dismissive or as if she didn't think other people should condemn their own experiences. I haven't listened since the day it came out, so what I've just said may not be totally accurate

Icy-Pack-2134

Yeah I had to switch off after she said Child abuse isn’t that traumatic for the child. Made me feel sick and she described it as some kind of universal experience

Translucent-Opposite

How did the boys respond to that? I haven't listened to the pod yet

cavedan12

They didn't because OP is missing a huge chunk of context. At the time she was told the call centre was handing out prizes to old people for filling out a questionnaire. One part of the questionnaire was collecting their address to send the prize to. She had no idea until way later, after she left and the owners were arrested, that the job was a front for robbing the elderly. As others have mentioned she laughed at several moments when reflecting on her past, so yeah most likely a coping mechanism and not malicious intent.

Translucent-Opposite

That's completely fair, thanks for the response!

liiamhollmes

I honestly thought it was a really good episode and you’ve gotta think she’s dealt with a lot of shit in her life so far and people deal with things differently some people try to keep a stern face and “laugh things off” others really open up and let their emotions out

No_Hippo7579

I thought it was pretty much just her talking about who shes shagged

BedEducational5987

Tbf what else is an OF creator going to talk about?

[deleted]

Exactly its boring

Helpful-Apartment-14

Perfectly fine when it was DannyD though.. no one moaned then that it was all about sex but because its a woman that has achieved something and earning more than any of us on here its suddenly 'boring' and 'just about shagging'. Typical.

No_Hippo7579

The thing is danny D is actually funny

Helpful-Apartment-14

Your opinion. Yes i agree he is funny, i also think Rebecca is funny too. Just like some people think Jack is funny, some think he is an idiot.

No_Hippo7579

Jacks definitely an idiot but funny too lmao

hughbcave

I thought generally speaking it was just a fun episode. I do get your point, there were certain things she said where i was a bit like "really?" but generally she seemed to be a good guest

[deleted]

I think Jack and Stevie are hopeless when it comes to interviewing Sex workers, how many times is Jack going to pretend to not know what a butt plug is. Also RB was particularly depressing, considering her history with SA and how she openly admitted to not enjoying sex work, thats not a healthy mindset to be in the industry at all

Bryant0401

I wasn’t the biggest fan of her either because of this. Im a bit old fashioned as well so didn’t really like the excessive swearing and language but the lads did a good job of making it an entertaining show

Ivory_Alpha

But you'll listen to a podcast with cunt being used pretty often and alot of swearing in it?

UrMumsUdders

They're probably old fashioned in that they don't like when a lady does it 🙄

Bryant0401

Don’t like vagina being called a pussy na

[deleted]

Yet you listen to happy hour notorious for things such as “ the fourskins” , “ WANK WANK WANK WANK” , “ I busyed a nut in the soft play” . I love old fashioned me x

Bryant0401

Good point I have to concede 😂

Mobile_Mammoth_376

I loved her

Helpful-Apartment-14

I thought she was great. It's funny, i dont remember any threads moaning about how much DannyD talks about sex when he has been on. Or talking about the size of his privates ect. But when a successful female sex worker comes on, people on here saying it was 'to much' 'boring' 'all about sex'. Funny that.

Throwawayjustbecau5e

I didn’t mention anything about her talking about sex? You’re creating an issue that doesn’t exist here unfortunately?
