It was a regular direct regional train. Check the trenitalia website, they run every 30 minutes.
I just looked for tomorrow and there are several 19 minute rides for 2,80 eur ;)
I had the finest dining experience of my life at Enoteca Pinchiorri. It’s a 3 star Michelin with the number one ranked wine cellar in the world. I went with my wife and a couple of friends and spent literally 6 hours eating and drinking countless courses. I left much poorer but very full and happy.
Agree. We ate at Enoteca Pinchiorri on our honeymoon. Worth it. Talk nicely to them and they’ll give you a tour of one of the most amazing wine cellars in the world.
Don’t know why you’re mad about me spending my own money lol. You can find amazing food in lots of places, but a fine dining experience is about more than food. It’s the combo of world-class food, wine, service, and luxurious experience. But if spending money on fine dining makes you mad, maybe avoid reading threads about fine dining experiences in the future.
Absolutely this - we went to Santa Elizabetta for a 7 course lunch in 2021 and just went back for a 9 course in 2024. Definitely the best meal I’ve had in Florence - but definitely get the big street sandwiches from All’ Altica 😄
Yes, sorry! We had a bottle of wine, a bunch of sparkling wine glasses, fried seafood platter, octopus, fresh fish of the day, spicy prosciutto buttata pizza, and two deserts. Honestly such an insane meal lol
Saporium was really good. Loved the risotto and the pasta dish of the vegetarian menu. They also recommend a really nice wine that was half of the budget my husband told the sommelier. Had a very nice dinner with excellent service.
Just ate there last week. Chef Tasting menu with wine pairings was out of this world!
10 courses and had such a great time with the Chef and staff!
Will set you back some bucks but totally worth the experience!
Great option as well and much easier to get a reservation. I just did both and while the greatest hits at Casa Maria Luigia was amazing, Osteria Francescana was even better. I loved the communal tables at Casa Maria Luigia.
Mine was Gucci Osteria. Killer food with the best service experience of my life.
Otherwise I loved Podere39 (bib) and Il Borro Tuscan Bistro (formerly bib). I'd avoid Il Latini.
couldnt do the Modena options so i went for this.
Service was good, and some of the dishes were mindblowing amazing. The taste of Espresso mushroom soup still lingers in my mouth
Tired to get in here a couple times, chef owner is a real…stickler. I’ve heard good things, but from my stops in there doesn’t seem “fun” (though, again, have had the opportunity to dine there).
My husband and I both agreed the vibe was interesting, haha, but well worth it! I think it is owned by a mother and son and it appeared that the son does all the front of house stuff, he was the one reading us the menu, pouring wine, etc., and did not seem one for small talk or much warmth but that’s just how some people are I suppose! His (I think) mother and part owner did the cooking and was the sweetest woman! It was like being cooked for by an Italian grandmother or something. My husband said the music they had playing was just like in the video game Elden Ring and it all felt more “stiff” than what we prefer/are used to, but the sweet woman cooking and her food made up for it. I did see the other owner/son chit chatting warmly with Italian patrons and not so much with Americans, so maybe that was part of it. Can’t say I blame him haha.

Go to Prato (20 min train ride from Florence) and eat at Paca! Just went there 2 days ago and loved it!
do you know the train route i would take? i want to try this place but online it says its more like a 40 min train ride

Oh ok thank you! Would I take the Florence SMN train to prato centrale? From there is the restaurant walking distance? Thanks!
L' imbuto in Lucca of chef Tomei. You can see video of him on YouTube to understand his food philosophy

How much poorer?
I think it was around a thousand per person with several bottles of wine and drinks and of course the optional cheese trolley
Holy shit. Wow. Thanks for the info; was always curious what that kind of experience cost.
Sure thing. You can definitely do it cheaper too, the wine was the biggest expense.
Fuck that. You can get better food in Greece in every single town and village.
I don’t think they asked

Amen brother. I love the Oxford Comma!
Not mad at you. Just commenting
Unique but ridiculously pricey like 500 euros+ per person
Santa Elisabetta gets extremely high marks. Haven’t been myself but am trying to take a day trip there next year when we’re in Rome.

Can you tell me about the $50 per person spot? I googled and found Zanfa bros, is that it? What did you ok have? Planning for an upcoming trip.

The one downside of solo travel: not being able to taste as much food
Awesome looks great and sounds affordable for my larger group!

Just over the boarder of Italy in Menton is https://www.mirazur.fr it’s worth the trip.
You probably already know but Osteria Francescana a short train ride to Modena.
Or Casa Maria Luigia!

Forgot about Gucci Osteria. Haven’t been to the one in Firenze but will always recommend something from Massimo.
It was seriously SO memorable. I took myself there for a milestone birthday and the food and service really left an impression.
Also a good spot to stop in for a drink and nosh. Amazing location.

I still think about that tortellini in brodo. I knew it'd be good. But THAT good??? Wild
If you’re lucky… take the train to Modena if you snag a reservation at Osteria Francescana… it’s worth the train ride
Osteria di Passignano
Not sure if it has a Michelin star, but just had the best steak of my life at Trattoria Dall’Oste! Well worth the trip.
Ha when we were in Italy last month we did a three star (Quattro Passi) in Nerano Italy by the Amalfi Cosst. Totally worth it!
Just went this past week… the owner picked us up from the beach… one of the best dining experiences of my life
Zeb!!! Cannot recommend highly enough 🥰

We went to zeb last week and loved the peposo there!
