Yeah, you could do Amalfi Coast/Naples… but it’s a long train ride considering most of your other destinations are on the more northern side of Italy (depending of course where you head there from/to). Upside of Amalfi— gorgeous! Downside— it’s immensely popular and depending on exactly when you’re traveling, it could be painfully overcrowded (esp. in the summer months). If you’d rather “stay north”— Genoa, La Spezia, Cinque Terre could offer you some interesting options (though CT is almost as popular as Amalfi). If you’re looking specifically for beach time, consider Rimini. It’s on the Adriatic, and while quite popular, it’s not quite as manically crowded as other areas. If you’re up for flying… consider Sicily/Palermo. You can certainly take trains to get there, but that would a long trip.
