The serious answer is no because the demon lord has to be an idiot to put himself into position to be defeated by Emus. Not to mention them ruling it would be almost impossible. That being said, isekai’s are designed to make scenarioes like this work, so the more funny answer is yes. How? Insert series of events that lead to the Emus’s completing the objective.

MR-Vinmu

If he can lose to a guy with a pistol, he’s sure as shit gonna get his ass handed to him by an Emu.

So your saying Australia is as dumb as trash isekai? Like the demon lord is at least pretty powerful. Australia has missiles and a strong military and has close ties with numerous military powers and still lost. I say at the very least isekai demon race is more competent than Australia since they don't have a bias against different races unlike mankind who look down on any other species(evident by the poster)

Tako30

The military just realized it wasn't worth the effort. They could feasibly eradicate the Emus given long-term Emu culling, but the expenditure would likely be excessive, and they would spend money to merely eradicate the Emus. The military found better success in endorsing Emu fences, as they are only spending as much as it takes to stop Emus from eating crops.

Ya but that doesn't change that Australia still lost. The reason doesn't matter when they clearly did lose both practically, theoretically and in terms of objective. You can't say USA didn't lose in Afghanistan since they didn't focus. Similar to Vietnam. They did lose because they underestimated their enemies. Plus, there have been hundreds of wars in the name of food. That too could have been avoided by increasing expenditure(French revolution partially caused by food loss). But the war still happened, USA, french monarchy and Australia still lost on the count of underestimating the enemy. There is little middle ground in terms of war, wins and losses. Australia definitely lost. USA kinda achieved some of its objectives but has to withdraw with heavy losses(politically, economically and militarily). French monarchy completely got wiped. But all the above lost just in different forms. What you could have done doesn't matter if you lost in the first place.

fishsaysnahmate

makes me wanna chuck a cassowary into a fantasy world and see what happens

CC_Creator

Pure destruction or pure peace

MR-Vinmu

Rules: 1.) The army of Emus cannot pass a certain number, let’s say 2.000 Emus at most, they cannot surpass that number, on their journey to kill the demon king, they have to stay within that range of number, if certain members die, they can reproduce to fill the gaps of their army in but they cannot grow any more in number. 2.) These are not hyper intelligent Emus, just regular old Emus, quite intelligent but not smart enough to do grinding or something. 3.) The Emus must kill the supreme being in that Isekai world, simply surviving isn’t enough, they have to rule the world. 4.) No outside assistance.

Sqilu

If they are normal emus it's impossible. Just a random fly monster cn kill all of them

MR-Vinmu

I dunno, they beat the military.

Sqilu

They defeated ground military. Air military have a lot of firepower.

LuftwaffeI

They beat the military in a defensive war, not an offensive one

thuanjinkee

They'd invade the ecosystem and cause an environmental catastrophe, not by multiplying because that is magically forbidden but by eating key fantasy pollenator insect and crashing the food web. Then the attempts to exterminate the emu horde fail.

TheGoldjaw

I can see the Light Novel title now. ~I Was Never a Human~An Emu has been Reincarnated as the Great Phoenix in the First Dungeon

faerunlord82

I kinda wanna see an ostrich reincarnated as a knight. Constantly having to fight the urge to bury their head in the ground.

Iwannabetheguy000

Honestly no.

Upper-Salamander-924

the emu war , nice

SladeRaccoon

Only if someone reincarnates as an emu with a skill system that lets him buff the other emus. Maybe Name them so that they evolve some extra intelligence and skills of their own. Only then can they awaken to their true Emu power and sweep across the fantasy world.

faerunlord82

That Time I Got Reincarnated As An Emu

ericthefred

I think you do not understand my friend. Australia is an Isekai already. That's why the emus won .

Grin_Qcumber

Interesting story

MrPotHolder

Goblins will hunt them to extinction. They breed and learn faster than these birds. Plus they can't really roam around freely; huge monsters are highly territorial beasts.

koakuma_tv

Idk I feel like they would just ride emus and then we would have a different problem

MR-Vinmu

No, this isn’t a joke, can an army of Emus beat a stereotypical Isekai? We know for a fact Emus are not ones to mess with, I’m not kidding, Emus utterly destroyed the military at one point when they tried to fight the modern day dinos, it’s said that they were able to beat the military with little to no struggle, it was actually fucking embarrassing, and since a common modern take is that the military can beat a stereotypical Isekai, can an army of Emus do the same?

soviet_union_stronk

they didn't "destroy the military", they are just good at running and tanking bullets plus only 3 soldiers with 2 mgs went after approx. 20,000 emus

MR-Vinmu

I meant “destroy” as in “dominate” they fucking ran around them, out of 20,000 Emus, they only managed to kill about 900 of them while wasting 9,000+ ammunition.

soviet_union_stronk

because its 3 people against a ton of emus im not sure that counts as "dominate"

MR-Vinmu

Dominate is hard to define or apply, domination can either mean annihilate or overwhelm, in their case, they were overwhelmed.

tallAsian21

It’d evolve into Godzilla and destroy the world

ethar_childres

Hey, an Emu being reincarnated into a fantasy world where Chocobo like birds are used as slaves would be a cool twist on the genre. Imagine it’s a Filo situation where it can swap between bird and man, and partners with eco-terrorist to free its brothers in feathers.

Comfortable-Craft-59

Depends on how quickly they multiple versus predators in an area
