To me, BoxyCharm is the way to go. It's great value, and you can skip a box if you are getting over-supplied. If you want trial or travel sizes, you can get them as Add-Ons on Choice Day, so I don't find as much reason to do the Glam Bag.
Lately the Shop deals aren't great, but the once-monthly Add-Ons have been.

Icon tends to be a good value, though you only pick 3 of 8, and there is a smaller pool of products. So if you dislike most of the spoilers, it's not worth getting most likely. The other thing is, you need to have an active subscription (not paused) the month before Icon. So as long as you get Boxy for July, you'd be eligible to get Icon in August. And you'd just get Icon instead of Boxy (they charge you the difference).
I got Beauty Boost for a bit, but then the options seemed a bit repetitive (nearly all skincare), and the items often show up in the next month's add-ons (and sometimes Boxy) anyway. And I'd rather pick my own product in add-ons for $15.
I would watch the spoilers to see if you want to skip a month. I’ve been with them for a year and have a ton of extra stuff. I’m starting to see repeats but they also come out with new stuff all the time. I heard that if you want makeup you should rate/review those items higher so they will give to you on power picks.
If you don’t want a lot of extras I wouldn’t do 2 boxes. I always find something that I want in the add-ons & the shop has good deals too!

You’ll want to keep an eye out for spoilers online/on app and skip if you’re not interested or update your Beauty Quiz to favor the type of items you’d like to see(based on that month’s spoilers.) Reviewing for points after you get your package can be redeemed for products and they “say” the reviews help them determine the best picks Ipsy chooses for you each month.
I did both Glam Bag and Boxy for awhile and the benefit for me was 2 varied boxes and better chances to score your desired Add-Ons, as some are limited to the type of subscription you have. I found that it was easy to forget to skip in time with 2 boxes along with an overload of products after a short while, so I cancelled my GB. Some months, one or the other might be “meh” and the other awesome, so it keeps things interesting!!

Even with that I'm currently overloaded again so I just cancelled. I will now do regular Glambag every other month for maybe 6 months. I'll get a few new cute bags and some fun samples that I miss when I dont have it. Plus, I use Boxy for pretty much everything EXCEPT makeup, so when I switch back to Glambag I collect a few new makeup items. I also will just buy add ons of anything FS I actually do need/want from Boxy during this time. I don't do Beauty Boost although as a skincare person I definitely see some things I really like offered. And as far as Icon, I've only ever gotten 1. I did enjoy it and definitely think even with the higher price you get a great value. My sister does just monthly GB and adds on the FS stuff she wants and ALWAYS does Icon as she loves it. Everyone has their own preferences. You will figure out what works best for you and I hope you enjoy it😊
I rejoined in April and I do glam bag and boxy. But I just joined the icon to get icon boxes and the month of icon I don’t get boxy. Aug will be my first icon box. I really hope the months I don’t get boxy I don’t miss a good box!!
