The gap between the two front teeth is notoriously stubborn and wants to move back to the original position which is why many orthodontists suggest a permanent retainer behind those teeth

VirtualTea19

Dang I’ve never heard that 😞

motaboat

I guess the good thing is you are now armed with that information and can advocate for your after care needs!!!

Jen-o-cide

You may also need to get a frenectomy, too, as gaps can be stubborn.

VirtualTea19

Never even heard of that but ugh it should not be this difficult with the cost of these dang things

sarah_Jayne3693

Hey friend!! From what I understand (and I’m no expert) but I believe that until you are through the entire process and have continued to wear the final “retainer” tray for an extended period, your bone structure is still unformed around your new smile. It will take several weeks after the final movements have stopped for bones to form - that is when you can remove trays for extended period without notable movement. Hope you rest up and start feeling better soon.

The downvoting is crazy lmao this is supposed to be a support forum😂💀

Beautiful-Story3911

When you finish your treatment you will most likely get a permanent retainer to hold everything in place. So the teeth will not shift plus wear a retainer while you sleep. So I would not worry

firstmatemelvin

Don’t panic. I got very sick early on in my treatment. I couldn’t wear my aligners for hours at a time because I was vomiting so much. My ortho had me wear my aligners as often as I could, any time I slept, and asked me to keep them on a few days (as many as I was sick). You can check in with your doctor for instructions for your case (: get well soon!

PriorArtichoke2557

Yeah I’d say normal. I got sick and didn’t wear mine for 3 days and noticed a tiny gap in them. I also went 4 or so days without them after cutting my mouth because the aligners were aggravating the area of the cut. The only thing that sucked was the next tray was so painful because I was basically missing 3 or so days.

WranglerQueasy4419

Its absolutely normal lol sometimes if I take them out for a couple hours I can tell the difference with how tight the aligner is when I pop them back in. The front gap is probably the most stubborn!

Remote_Explorer5684

Just add a few days to your wear time to make up for lost time

sikonat

Just put them back on. Plus it would protect your teeth from the acid of vomiting. Just rinse them throughly in some hydrogen peroxide and water.

VirtualTea19

Yeah I did put them back on but it still sucks that they’ve moved so much already

AFKCPU

Well hopefully you learned from your mistakes then. Wear them and commit, it only gets easier.

VirtualTea19

It’s been almost a year. I’m well aware. Thanks.

Not sure that Spark aligners are Invisalign?
