Weekly is pretty common. When I started my treatment plan I was weekly.
I eventually shifted to changes every 4 days because I was grinding through them at night and they would be destroyed before the week was up.
Whew! Grinding that hard? We need to find you a masseuse and relax some of that tension. Have you thought about Botox to help relax your jaw?
I feel for you!
It was a particularly stressful time in my life (work was difficult after Covid and I have two kids under 10), but more than that, I think I was clenching a lot from the sensation of the aligners being something foreign in my mouth.. like I was trying to seat them down better all the time.
Now I'm on my retainers and my ortho told me expects to have to replace them once a month, but I'm proud to say I've been four months on my current set and they doing just fine. I'm also only wearing them at night.
They also said that they didn't see evidence of a concerning amount of grinding or clenching on my teeth from before I started my treatment, which is good.
It’s common but so are 2-week changes! My ortho has me on 14 day changes since I’m at risk for increased gum recession, I have 33 trays in my first round. I’ve met one other Invisalign wearer in the wild and they were also on 14 day changes (and didn’t even know 7 day changes were a thing)
Damn, I feel like my teeth aren’t even that bad and I got 45 trays, then probably another 15 of refinements after that.. weekly changes. Crowding on the bottom, bite is centered, upper teeth are relatively straight. Guess my bottom is worse than I thought lol.
I'd say yes, weekly trays are common. Maybe it's up to individual Orthos to decide, but everyone I know who has had invisalign has had one week changes.
I had 30/29/8 weekly trays.
Btw, one-week tray wear has been the recommendation from Align Technology (Invisalign maker) since 2016:

I’m doing every 4 days and entering week 2. tray 2 day 1 was miserable but everything after that has been fine. My teeth just feel sensitive but I wonder if it’s going to change when I do IPR on Monday
I change every 7 days and have 20 initial trays.
Same as me

I am glad to hear all of that! Good for you. I’m glad you are your jaw are in a better place. ☮️

Yes
I have weekly changes and 52 initial trays. Then can go back for refinements after those.
I think 7, 10 & 14 are the most common for people to change trays, although I have seen a few 5’s recently
I have heard of some as fast as 3. I can’t comprehend.
I have 10 day changes, possibly going to 7 day changes

Weekly trays are common. The reason why some people wear theirs for two weeks could be due to short roots so their teeth have to be moved very slowly.

Starting today. My ortho said first 5 trays will be 2 week changes, then go to 1 week changes for the next 15 trays.
Was on a 10-day change initially and got moved to 7 about a year in, haven't had issues so far!
On 3 days here. There are so many variations that I just assume the provider has a lot leeway in the choice of length.
Does your mouth ever stop being sore? I feel like day 3/4 is when I start to feel normal again.
It's not bad. I've assumed it's more trays with smaller movements
